Milan players after Fiorentina defeat

Player Ratings: Fiorentina 2-1 AC Milan – Theo and Tomori embarrassing

AC Milan’s winning run in the league came to an end on Sunday evening as Fiorentina prevailed 2-1 at Stadio Artemio Franchi. Several players could have done a lot better, with a couple of fatal mistakes, and below are the player ratings for the Rossoneri.

If you haven’t already, make sure to check out how we decide the player ratings. From the scale to what affects the rating, we have compiled everything there.

Starting XI

Maignan (7): He did his job tonight, saving a penalty and distributing the ball well with his feet. He could do nothing about the goal and certainly has the right to give his teammates a scolding.

Emerson Royal (5.5): Some misplaced passes and struggles in the duels, but it wasn’t completely terrible from him, at least not compared to some of his teammates. Not enough for a pass here, but he wasn’t the main player to blame.

Gabbia (6): The academy product won the penalty that Abraham missed and put up a good fight in the duels with Kean. He was hung out to dry by Tomori on the second goal and was clearly the better of the two tonight.

Tomori (4.5): It was a fatal mistake by the Englishman, completely misjudging De Gea’s long ball, and Fiorentina made the most of it. He was also rather shaky in the other duels and thus didn’t impress tonight.

Hernandez (4.5): He may have got the assist for Pulisic, but the latter did 90% of the work. Before that, he caused a penalty (very cheap, I know) and missed one as well. His strike wasn’t terrible but also not fantastic, not to mention that he got lucky not to cause another penalty later on. The worst part, however, was getting a red card after the game for shouting at the referee. It remains to be seen how long he will be suspended, probably two games (Udinese and Bologna next). A horrible birthday for him.

Pulisic (7 – MOTM): He was almost always available on the right flank and combined well with his teammates. The finish on the goal was just fantastic and he deserves a lot of praise for that. Not sure why Fonseca thought it was good to sub him off.

Fofana (6): It wasn’t always spectacular, but he won several 50-50 duels in the centre of the park and made life difficult for Gudmundsson on several occasions. He can still improve with his passing in attack, but there is no doubting what he brings to the team defensively.

Reijnders (5.5): The Dutchman won the penalty after a run into the box, but honestly we expect to see a lot more from him. He struggled a bit at the start of the game and while he grew into it, he never really had that x-factor that we often see him have.

Leao (5.5): He had two good runs, one which led to a powerful shot and another that nearly set up Pulisic for 2-1, but aside from that he struggled to make a difference for Milan. Still, given those two chances, it’s a bit strange that he was subbed off.

Abraham (5): If you are going to take the second penalty, after the first was missed, you better make sure you score. Especially when another player wants to take it (Pulisic). Abraham failed and also missed two other good chances in that second half, so it’s not good enough.

Morata (5.5): He had to drop down far more than he was comfortable with, it was quite clear, and he was never really 100% in the combination play with his teammates.

Substitutes

Okafor (5.5): The substitution may have been strange, but the Swiss international got past his man a couple of times. That being said, no real impact.

Chukwueze (5.5): One good shot after coming on, and then a great run which was finished with a horrendous shot. Such a mixed bag, as is usually the case for him.

    1. It is not fair blaming the players when they are playing without a plan. The instructions seem to be: as long as we are not a goal down, waste as much time as possible.

    1. I thought that this was one of those days where the team completely failed Pulisic.

Six minutes in, he puts a perfect free kick in and Gabbia heads it over.

      He scored a Golazo!

His PERFECT lead pass to Reijnders led to a PK.

His run, early in the 2nd half, was near perfect, only surpassed by an unbelievable slide tackle to deny him a goal.

He put a 2nd perfect cross in, from open play, but again his teammate managed to NOT score when scoring was the path of least resistance.

All that and we were awarded TWO PKs, and yet Fonseca didn’t allow the player who is 10-for-10, for club and country, take either one!

If there was any justice in football (and the fact that there isn’t is part of what makes it so beautiful!), Pulisic would have had four goals and two assists.

BTW, Theo was a complete mockery of the Captain’s armband, today. I’m only saying TODAY, but conceding a STUPID PK, taking and missing a PK trying to compensate, and getting sent off for whinging to the referee are all stupid mistakes usually seen from rookies under the age of 20, and not World Cup winning team captains!

      1. As long as this fraud jerry is here no one gives a fk about yankees here you pos, with all the repsect for Pulisic that clearly has other roots since he can actually play this sport…so sht the fk up gringo …you are clueless when is about “soccer”…you being once the waterboy doesnt count…so fo with all your americans

        1. Whoa. What Yvan said has nothing to do with Puli being American. And you berate him for saying soccer – what do you say? Calcio? Because calcio is not football either.

          1. Im not calling football, calcio dude…football is football…im sayimg about “soccer” cause gringos know sht about football…Look at musah,he thinks he has to carry to ball to do the touch down…pulisic has eastern european roots, thats why he knows the sport…rest of the gringos are useless…but with all that I have nothing against the rest,I have a problem with this jerry imbecile, his useless tools and all his yankee balls lickers…he needs to f o so we can build again a real Milan like it used to be…

          2. What Rino said has nothing to do with soccer, football or calcio.

SMH, I am from the US. Berate me for it all you like. Know that I pity you each time.

Which s3x act will it be today Rino? Could you at least come up with something to make me laugh _with_ you instead of _at_ you?

          3. Fratello,
All Rino’s IQ allows is “jerry Ball l*ckers”, “c0ck svcking” and “your mom this… your mom that…”

Don’t try to rationalize or talk sense. Just ignore, like a steaming pile of sh*t that his input usually is”…

Wise man once said, “if you don’t step on it, it won’t smell more” …

          1. Aaah Jerry’s fun boys Acm1899 and water boy had to step up…welcome gringo pu**ies, welcome…lick his balls until his last dollar you prostitutes…the water boys with the knowledge about”soccer” and the IQ of an used napkin…how much is this imbecile”winning is not fun” paying you,you dum bit**es?!Stop running your mouth and do your jobs li*king his balls

      2. Pulisic would convert a PK off his left foot before anyone else would hit one off their best foot. I can see why we gave Theo the first PK but Tammy? What has he done for Milan other than run a lot, miss a bunch of chances and convert one poorly hit PK? Pulisic is our one in form player at the moment and not having him shoot at least one is criminal. Pulisic needs to start talking more and take his place in the team or else these stupid things will keep happening to him.

        1. Why can you see Theo getting the first penalty? Because it was his birthday? Is this a Childs birthday party or are we playing a professional game? Maybe if we were up 2 goals. When you are losing 1-0 you have your best pk taker take the penalty. It set a horrible example, disrespecting both Pulisic and the coach, and that’s why Tammy thought he could do the same thing. Theo should never wear the armband again.

          1. I don’t agree but can see. Theo was captain and his hit wasn’t bad but a good save was made. I would rather Pulisic take every penalty given his form and PK record.

          2. Gotta agree. As the captain, you gotta do what’s best for the team. It’s no time for entitlement or preferential treatment.

But then again, Theo isn’t really captain material either.

        2. For this, I blame the coach. There’s supposed to be a penalty-taker for the team. Pulisic is our best player. His IQ is far ahead of the others. You can see it in his goals, and the way he plays. Theo wanted to do it for the record. Even as I watched on, I was just wondering why the coach allowed it, because I had a feeling that he was going to lose it. The second one really showed Fonseca’s weakness. For me, I was seeing the Pioli days play back. You cannot have a team where anyone just picks the ball, and say they want to take the penalty. The defense was in tatters, and, the midfielders react late to supporting them. Lastly, Fonseca, sub Leao early if he doesn’t do too well. We don’t need anyone feeling like a king on the pitch. Jovic should be sold in January. We need a better striker than Abraham. He presses well, though, but, his finishing is poor. The coach approved of him, so, he needs to work on him, to get the best out of him. A team in the Champions league cannot be playing this poorly in the league, every now and then. It’s not acceptable.

      3. to be fair Fonseca didn’t choose penalty takers. That I think is Pulisic who needs to not allow others to take it. That is a team leadership issue.

    2. Theo and Leao, our two princesses, just act awkward. what’s wrong with our “superstars”?! slwhy do they play like two divas. Why don’t they press like the team’s team? more commitment is needed!! questions after questions

      1. Diva was the exact same word I described Leao two times yesterday when he stopped running after the ball when he realized it was “only 50/50 ball” and there was a chance he wouldn’t make it before the ball crosses the line. Everyone else would have at least tried to reach it but no, not him. He stopped and started waving his arms like “why the f*** should I run there? give me better passes so I wouldn’t need to run”.

        Diva. 100%.

  1. The reason why Pulisic was taken off was that except for the goal he didn’t do much. The coach wanted someone who will cut inside and create chances like Chuk did. (Not the best tho).
As for the penalties give it a rest people. Anyone can miss. Both penalties were taken good, both Tammy and Teo shot in the lower corners but De Gea is that good.
PS. Ps the coach should have brought Jovic on.

      1. O pls, you mean from the scuffle were he pushed the ball a bit from the ground? Rejndiers was going no where with that ball. Thats more tnx to the ref for giving easy penalties. But if you want to go like that Pulisic got spin by Adli and was responsible for the first goal too. Everyone had some moments here and there, but in general all of our attacks were coming from the left, while on the right they were just passing back and forward most of the time and Royal sometimes sending usles crosses. That’s why Chuk got in, to do something more direct. Which he did, but De Gea saved that too. So it is what it is.

    1. Youre missing the point.
Pulisic didnt do much cause they werent passing to him, thats bad play, He was always open.
      Anyone can miss penalties,
-Yes. but why didnt Theo take the 2nd one after missing, if he is the PK taker.

      1. Fair enough, i didn’t knew he was injured. Top corner would be a superb penalty, but yea those are harder and not everyone can pull it off so they usually go for the bottom corner.

        1. We can blame the player forever if the system AC plays doesn’t change immediately. How can Milan win games when a large percentage of the time is playing possession between the defence line. It seems there is no urgency in their play unless they are losing. Fornseca’s type of game is designed for an old age team. AC is going nowhere with Fornseca and management is to blame. Milan supporters were correct to disagree with the coach selection and the results are a proof to this.

    2. I share the same sentiment with you but you can’t really fault puli for that. His rb is no theo who can attack along side him and he does more tracking back to help his rb. He barely gets the ball on the RW but still positions himself well to get a goal when we need one. For chuk, he drops back like morata to get the ball before heading to cut in like you said.

    3. What match were you watching?

Six minutes in he sent a perfect cross in from a free kick, but Gabbia skied it when it was easier to score.

The goal was a Golazo of the highest order.

The first PK was earned by Reijnders, but only because Pulisic sent him in on goal with a perfect lead pass, as he was falling to the ground after being fouled.

He also sent in another PERFECT cross which was skied over, and he was only denied a second goal by an unbelievable slide tackle.

On top of that, WTF was Fonseca thinking, letting Theo and Tammy take PKs when Pulisic has NEVER missed, for club or country (10 for 10)?

      1. No one gives a fk about your country gringo!I will fk all of you gringos over at the stadium…just because of that morron jerry ,no one gives about your f country…you’re a fuking disgrace for your real roots

        1. Big keyboard warrior. You wouldn’t talk to my wife, let alone me, like that, in person.

You run your mouth A LOT!

Google “MARSOC,”and then let me know when you want to meet up to have this discussion in person, little girl. I’ll pay $3,000 for the flight just to see the look in your pathetic beady eyes.

          1. Says the boy behind the other keybord…you’re a muppet just like your daddy Jerry you fukin wank…you aint got 30 and you’re talking about 3000 just like Jerry..google “banging Marsoc ‘s wife” and tell me if you still want to meet me and the other boys that did that slt, yanke that identifies as a pussy

        2. Lol you’re a literal joke. So without your boys, sounds like you’re a little beetch. It’s okay though. Little man syndrome is a real thing

        3. You’re also calling someone a gringo while also misspelling almost every word in your comments. Trust me. Whatever country you are in doesn’t want you there😂

          1. So many new nicknames all of a sudden here to lick jerry’s balls…The guy felt he really needs some freshmen or are the same bitc*es with new nicknames?!stabbing me where it hurts the most,my misspelling…aahhh you stabbed me jerk…ouchi…I bet you speak flawless at least 3,4 more languages as most of the gringos 😂…u lil yankee trash

      1. Well thats some strong projection there. Just cause your brain is baised that doesn’t mean everyone else is like you. Ask yourself how many times Pulisic cut towards goal like Chuk and you get a reasonable conclusion why they changed him.

        1. You’re kidding right? Pulisic was by far the best player on the pitch tonight. The only thing he failed at was letting Adli get that shot away but that was a perfect strike.

    1. Says the boy behind the other keybord…you’re a muppet just like your daddy Jerry you fukin wank…you aint got 30 and you’re talking about 3000 just like Jerry..google “banging Marsoc ‘s wife” and tell me if you still want to meet me and the other boys that did that slt, yanke that identifies as a pussy…

    2. Hey Inter Fan and welcome just one thing I may ask of you?
Why are you here on Milan site?
The Inter site doesn’t love you or are you upset Milan beat Inter?
Pls enjoy our site but keep silent we don’t for the Black and blue bruised army, really!

  2. Maybe Pulisic should leave and go to Liverpool instead of playing with these selfish idiots on this team. The guy is our best scorer, he’s never missed a penalty fro club or country and every jackass on this team is stepping ups and taking the ball away from him. Too many egos that are thinking about themselves rather than the team. Theo at the top of the list. Hoe do we not have a designated penalty taker? Is it whoever grabs the ball first?

Defense was terrible again. Second goal was mostly Tomori but Gabbia and Theo too share some blame. How can we blame this on RLC…I’m sure someone here will figure out a way.

Why can Pavlovic not play? He was arguably our best defender to start the season, has one bad game against Liverpool and now he can never play again?
Many to blame here but the truth is if Pulisic takes those penalties we win this game. Tired of all these players only thinking about themselves.

    1. Not sure why Tammy thought he had to take that PK. Doesn’t help that DeGea decided to play lights out tonight.

Pavlo’s problem is that he’s just as impulsive as Tomori on challenges. But Tomori looks mentally fatigued and inattentive.

Team needs rotating. These guys don’t look in peak form as was evident from Theo. He only plays like that when he’s mentally drained.

Now we’re probably looking at two games without him without a natural back up. It’s gonna be fun.

      1. Pulisic is the only in form attacker and the designated pk taker. It’s mind boggling that he didn’t take either pk. Especially the 2nd one.

  3. Emerson was terrible- 4.5 at best. Poor decisions all game. I feel bad the Pulisic has to play with him on that side. Morata work his butt off, deserves a 6. Leao worked harder today off the ball. Can our midfielders split players to make a pass out of the back? Tammy had two missed open shots on goal and the penalty miss- 4.5. Chuck looked decent but 5.5 seemed about right.

    1. Tammy deserves a 2. You can’t take the ball from the designated, on fire Pulisic and then miss your attempt. If you’re going to do that you better score.

  4. Whoever thought that beating Inter will somehow magically erase the fact that we have a mediocre coach, some incredibly overrated players and the worst management in Serie A, may feel welcome back to earth. I hope your journey has been pleasant a one.

    1. 100% correct ACM and the Management Cardinale has but in place tells the whole truth and nothing but the truth for this season!

We ACM followers are being led into the wilderness of Euro football and trophies will elude the club in 2024-25 season again.
CL is just as disgraceful as Seria A performances are will show Cardinale’s strategy failures once again. Build your stadium Cardi and be happy with this only for the club football trophies will come once you sell to the Arab’s

  5. Got 2 penalties, but still lost against a mid-table team.
I’m starting to wonder if yesterday’s derby win was just luck.

But all is well, as long as the club reports profits two years in a row

  6. Where are all the ass lickers of this jerry imbecile?!You mf c*ck suckers,I would rip your fkin legs at the stadium only to know wich ones are you!You fkin animals!Every mf gringo with american accent I will knock out at the stadium from now on!

    1. What a complete unhinged mental case you are. Yes it’s Gery’s fault Theo and Abraham missed penalties. The American is the best player on this team by a mile, and the only reason we lost is because these idiots didn’t let the American take the penalty. You ain’t doing s!@* Rino.

      1. Im not doing sht.Lets see the next home game!I swear to god I will break your fkin heads you american trash. Its this imbecile jerry that killed Maldini’s ambitions to make a great team because “winning is boring”…too bad too many idiots are buying tickets and support the sells when this management is full of imbeciles…lets met at the stadium you trash and lets see how it ends for you ,you mf american c*ck sucker

          1. You should try my mom Rino. She is old and slow so you can catch her. Ask her to take her teeth out for you. She likes a good pity …

    2. And what exactly is a Garry problem ? Wrong penalty from Theo or the lazy kick from Abraham ? This is clear failure from management… I love Zlatan and think our starting 11 is one of the best in seria A… but this summer they Killed our project what runs last 3 years….. only missing piece was Great coach with experiences…. even with Royal this team is good , but Fonsy’s style and motivation experiences are worse than Piolis… and I hope Zlatan now can see it what is different between Conte and Fonseca… 5m€ + bonuses vs 2m€ + bonuses

    3. I’d bend you over in front of the entire Curva Sud, you whinging Rat ba$+@rd!

Theo conceded an idiotic PK, wasted a PK and took a STUPID red card, but the guy who scored a Golazo, sent in two wasted perfect crosses and Fed Reijnders the lead pass that earned the first PK is the problem?

Il commento piu stupido su Internet!

      1. You are brave you trash…Lets meet the next match at the stadium you f sht and see who’s gone bend who…bring your mommy too,you might not be enough for me you lil american cnt!

      2. Who said anything about pulisic you imbecile? My problem is with this imbecile fraud jerry and this clueless management! If your handicaped and can’t read well its on you…still, lets met at the stadium for that date,I want to see how brave you are yankee sht

  7. Also, what more does Tomori have to do in order to be benched? He is completely reckless and inadequate, not a single game passes without him contributing to either a goal or a clear chance for the opponent? Why did we even buy Pavlovic if not to replace the weak link in our defense? What he did in that 2-1 situation was literally a copy of the mistake against Inter for the Supercoppa, and that’s amateurish.

  8. Put Tomori on the bench he isn’t in from.

Too lazy and casual from Theo most of the time, he is just harming his career. Let’s not even start with Leao. I don’t know if Fonseca has a problem with making substitution early.

Sell Theo and Leao and invest the money these guys have checked out mentally unless a good coach can somehow bring them back to default.

  9. Labeled as doom and gloom squad. And I’m not allowed to be here. If I shout about losing or critisizing the management, someone here will advice me to support PSG.

  10. Deserved loss. When you miss 2 penalties in a game, you don’t deserve anything but a loss.
That’s 2nd time in 9 months that Milan missed 2 penalties in the same game, and even though Pulisic was in the game in both situations, he shot none of those penalties. Theo missed 2 of them, Giroud and Abraham, the other 2. From now on, no one should even think of shooting a penalty but Pulisic. I don’t understand why someone else is shooting penalties when you have Pulisic who has never missed one in his career.
“Captain” Theo, as usual, when things go bad, always finds a way to make them worse. The worst player on the pitch 4.5 is way too high. He earned himself extra couple weeks off to celebrate his birthday.
The rest, outside of Pulisic and Maignan, were not much better.
Great goal and game by Adli.
Kaen played like a man possessed.
De Gea was great as well.

    1. This is completely scandalous. Fonseca said after the match that Pulisic is the designated penalty taker, yet both Theo and Abraham took it from him. They should both be benched. Get control of your team Fonseca, before our best player Pulisic leaves for somewhere else.

      1. The problem is the lack of leadership, or everyone wanting to be a leader on the pitch.
The coach can designate a penalty taker but if the captain grabs the ball because he wants to shoot a penalty on his birthday, there is not much the coach can do at that point. Even vs Venezia, Leao told Pulisic to let Abraham shoot the penalty. The last 3 penalties were shot by Abraham 2 and Theo, while Pulisic was in the game.
Pulisic will have to grab the ball and tell everyone to f*ck off. He needs to stop taking back seat to anyone on the team. He is the best player and it isn’t even close.

        1. Agree.

Theo just wanted to break Maldini’s record on his birthday.
Then completes the performance with an abuse red card after the final whistle.

He should not be captain again for a long time.

          1. My thoughts exactly. He thought it was his magical night, to break maldini’s record and post it on Instagram. Well, his is in the news for other reasons now. Imagine, if he tried taking the penalty from a designated penalty taker while maldini was on the pitch? It would never happen.
Those guys are not disciplined, all of them playing for themselves or their cliques and friends. Not for the team . The power play behind the scenes is massive. Locker room management is hard cos the guys know who is getting favors from the top and who gets preferential treatment.
It all goes bust in times of crises when players who are supposed to standup and act become the culprits of stupidity.
Would they have tried this with conte as coach or Mourinho? I guess not.

        1. You need help from your dad to bend that cow you call your wife , cowboy and you want to bend me…stay in place lil d**ky,in front of curva you can head me…thats all…you’re only a gringo that identifies himself as a p**sy..I’ll btch slap you until you start whining for your mommy

  11. This is clearly Milan’s worst game. After the performance against Leverkusen, they kept waiting for a lowly Fiorentina to come at them b4 waking up. Emerson is a complete waste of money. Leao was lost, Theo was reckless, while Fofana and Reijnders didn’t know their jobs until it was 2-1. The coach fumbled by allowing Theo and Abraham to take the penalties, when we have Pulisic and Morata.
I thought we were going to win. I felt with what was at stake, we just had to win. Fiorentina have not been good. But, whether they are or not, it shouldn’t matter in this game. Napoli and Inter have won. They didn’t play with the seriousness the game deserved – seems like a leaderless bunch. Gabbia needs the balls in the air, where he direct it down, not so low. I wonder what they do at trainings. I’m more than disappointed. This one hurts more than all the games we’ve played. I really wish they had done this at San Siro;the fans would stone them.

    1. Six minutes in, Pulisic sent in a perfect cross from a free kick on the left side, and Gabbia got under it and headed it into Row Z!

I love Gabbia, and think that he should be a regular starter, but he blew that chance!

  12. Every mf of this idiots that are playing like trash and still have the guts to shush fans should get their legs broken by the curva…but the curva is a curva that takes her benefits from jerry and shut up like some bunch of pussies

          1. Well Warren you being a gringo I understand where you’re coming from so thats why also seryously Im telling you that you and your sugardaddy jerry can both to sck my balls…like you do all the time with him…

  13. According to Fonseca, Pulisic should haven taken the penalty and he (Fonseca) doesn’t know why the players decided otherwise.

This is probably the third time an actual official statement confirms the bad atmosphere in the locker room. Shocking.

    1. Pulisic needs to stand up for himself. And Fonseca should have made it clear, especially after Theo took the first one. It’s totally ridiculous that it’s basically whoever runs up and grabs the ball first. I’ve seen enough of Theo. Dimarco is twice the player he is. Too many egos on this team, and apparently they are directly disobeying the coach’s orders. Sit them down!

  14. Just sell the club. This isn’t baseball, this isn’t MLS. You don’t know what you’re doing, you have people that are as clueless as you are running the club. Just sell the damn club.

    1. This idiot is not going to sell untill people won’t stop buying his crap…this imbecile is just as imbecile like the one from man utd,at least that one has money to spend, this idiot is just a fraud like berlusca told

      1. Worst part is, he is too dumb and too arrogant to actually realize that what he is doing is wrong and that he is actively ruining the club.

        1. This morron is all about making some money..read his lastninterview..the lunatic is talking about himself like he just came from the future and all the rest ate imbeciles and have to help him,not only the other clubs but the gov too…the idiot is targeting gov money…that fraud he is…he is a bum placed there to launder some money and make some more…nothing more…just like berlusconi told not just once

          1. Look here, two mental defectives talking to each other and winding each other up. I guess the electroshock treatment doesn’t work like it used to. Never seen anyone more in need of a lobotomy than Rino.

  15. It was a defeat that happens.

Tomori’s mistake from the long ball was critical but it happens. It’s not like we’re conceding goals like that every week.

Theo’s missed penalty was a great save.

The penalty he conceded was harsh.

Reijnders, who I’ve been critical of, did better pulling out wide to make himself available for passes and making that great run into the box to win the penalty. He was also right to try that pass in the inside to Leao.

Leao did his usual 3-4 moments any of which could’ve lead to a goal. His pass to Pulisic in particular was near perfection.

    Emerson didn’t do too badly.

    Fofana did ok.

    Pulisic got his goal.

In short, it wasn’t that bad.

For Milan to become a great side we have to recognise that we can lose to teams like Fiorentina or any team in Serie A.

And the reason that’s necessary is we need to start recognising the quality of our opponents, and stop thinking that there’s this gulf in difference. We need to treat every team with respect and approach every match like a cup final.

When fans express outrage that we lost to Fiorentina away they show how much they take for granted.

This is a(nother) new project. We’re 5 points off Napoli. We can’t afford many more slip up’s. We need to remain calm and keep carrying on.

    1. “It’s not like we’re conceding goals like that every week.”

Yeah, we are NOT know for conceding ridiculous goals every week.

      1. Not from balls straight down the middle.

Under Fonseca they’ve mostly come from the flanks with FBs left isolated.

  16. Players look tired. Sloppy decision making. Misplaced passes. Mental fog. Lazy tracking back. You name it.

Fonseca doesn’t help things not rotating players. Tomori shouldn’t be starting every game as was evident today.

Our attack is too slow. Possession based football negates our dangerous traits which is pace on the counters. Instead we’re holding the ball too much without any clear penetration.

We looked better against Leverkusen after conceding than tonight …

    1. The result doesn’t prove or disprove rotation or anything.

You don’t know more about conditioning than professional coaches.

People love rotation because they’re desperate to have massive squads to feed the transfer market.

    1. “PS Of course Adli scored….and did quite well overall! Why didn’t he do this last season!”

Because he was PLAYING OUT OF POSITION as a fng DM!

    2. The massive hypocrite speaks again.
Adli played well the few moments he got, but you still wanted him. Out in favour of reinjders. And now he is no longer here, but you still can’t let him rest.

The massive hypocrite that is Maldini heir turned on reinjders too.

Can’t let adli rest here, can’t let him rest where he is now.

And I call you a hypocrite because you PREACH AND PREACH ABOUT SUPPORTING ALL MILAN PLAYERS, AS LONG AS THEY WEAR THE JERSEY. But you can’t even do that for the players who play for the club you claim to support. 🤦‍♂️🤣

  17. We have acknowledge reality:
    1. This team is nowhere near the quality of the Maldini and Massara team so it will take time, consistency, a clear plan, and two or more good transfer markets to get back to where we were.
    2. Pulisic is the only signing under this management that has proven so far to be Milan material. Reijnders, Loftus Cheek, Musah, Chukwueze, Okafor, Emerson are not and it looks like most of them won’t be at Milan next season.
    3. The work rate of Abraham and Morata is impressive but we need to see more in the final third. They have three goals between them. Vlahovic has seven goals so far in all competitions and is being criticized. Lautaro has had a terrible start and has three goals in all competitions.
    4. Our struggles all come down to our poor midfield play. We don’t have the personnel. Fofana was a step in the right direction but we need a lot more. We don’t even have a clear capable cover for Fofana.

  18. It’s frustrating to see Leao so useless tbh. He hasn’t been this bad for this long. It’s very frustrating and this has to be the coaches fault.

I see a hyper involved Pulisic and a non existent Leao.

    Disappointing night.

    1. Fonseca went from benching him against Lazio to treating him like a prince, he even made him captain against Lecce. Of course he’s gonna feel above the team and of course that will only lead to sporting regression. He managed to be a better player with the help of Maldini, obviously a certain approach is needed and we no longer have the people at Milanello who Leao will look up to and listen.

      1. Leao and Hernandez don’t play becaise they were promised by Maldini to make a competitve team, thats why they chose to stay…and this imbecile jerry came and ruined everything bringing his clowns to fk this team completely..thank you for chukumuku and other uselss tools like terraciano, okafor, jovic and so on

        1. Leao chose to stay cause Milan helped him with Sporting. Tbh whatever the reason – as a fan I only want winners to play for my team. Our supporting cast is so bad that I never want to see Chuk put on a Milan jersey again.

      2. This is not the kind of player I want at my team lol. I think being a winner is doing everything possible even when you’re under unfamiliar situations.

        1. I m not a fan either for his trash character…him or leao…but they have the quality that none of our players have…and with a good approach like Maldini had the team was growing…Maldini was fired because he went in public and asked real investments for 2,3 class players to help the team making the next step to go for Champions league and titles…and than this imbecile showed up,he has no clue what kind of sport this team is playing …When you are the “owner” and you say public that winning is boring, how the fk you grow the determination for players like hernandez and leao?!How morron you should be?! This team is build with strong characters,we used to be a team,a family ,that is why we were so strong..we used to have players with strong characters and morality, atachement for the club…that was Maldini doing at this club, cayse he used to grow in that environment…and now the fkin gringos showed up and ruined everything with their imbecility…ibrahimovic is just a mut for this fraud of a owner,he is clueless of anything, just a muppet placed there to bark…

    2. Every game. Leao looks so lost on the pitch. Pulisic who is a less gifted but far more intelligent player uses his space well; but Leao just looks so out of place where he is playing so deep at times. Almost 0 defensive contribution, 0 passing contribution because he consistently loses the ball, and no attacking presence. What is he doing there. I want to honestly see us move to a 3-5-2 setup with Theo as a LWB and bring back Luca Toni to play RWB. Still better than that disaster Emerson Royal

    3. You are so obsessed with Leao, Milan looses, its Leao, guess who failed to stop Adli? Leao was pretty decent, the pass to Pulisic was perfect, Pulisic should have done better with that pass, might have got another penalty

    4. Predictable. Someone would have to blame Rafa.

So, let’s see. Theo causes a sloppy PK. Takes a PK and misses. Antagonizes the ref and gets red-carded. And somehow it’s Rafa’s fault.

Abraham misses a PK and several other scoring opportunities. Somehow it’s Rafa’s fault.

Tomori completely botches the long aerial pass, causing almost on his own Fiorentina’s second goal. Somehow it’s Rafa’s fault.

Even the outstanding Pulisic gets beaten by Adli who scores (Poor Puli, he was trying to help given that Emerson doesn’t defend well). Somehow it’s Rafa’s fault.

Rafa sets up Puli perfectly to score a second goal. Puli doesn’t. Somehow it’s Rafa’s fault.

Sure, sure. It’s all Rafa’s fault. Sell him! Sell him! Sell him!

  19. Fonseca thought he unlocked the game with playing 4-4-2 only to realize it worked only against Inter simply because he caught Inzaghi off guard. Whoever thought that was going to be a “turning point” in this season was given a great reality check today. This team with this coach and this phenomenally incompetent management would be lucky to finish the league in top 6 – never mind winning any sort of trophy.

  20. The so call defensive leaders were as poor as fuck, A forward should be very offensive and not kill attacking play, Morata and Abraham were just poor, IMO they are overrated especially Abraham, he should be a bench player. Fonseca is obviously not the coach, why was Leao substituted? He should have substituted Morata who was just obstructing flow with his “defensive quality”. If not for the goal, Pulisic should have done better against Adli, of what use is tracking back when you can’t defend?

  21. How exactly is the coach to blame when the team missed 2 penalties and had 4 big chances? The loss is on Theo and Abraham.

  22. The so call defensive leaders were as poor as f***, A forward should be very offensive and not kill attacking play, Morata and Abraham were just poor, IMO they are overrated especially Abraham, he should be a bench player. Fonseca is obviously not the coach, why was Leao substituted? He should have substituted Morata who was just obstructing flow with his “defensive quality”. If not for the goal, Pulisic should have done better against Adli, of what use is tracking back when you can’t defend?

  23. i hate this tedious style of play. Its so painful to watch, the “lets pass side to side” and hope to god a moment a mistake comes” mentality of play. We are a counter attacking side, just look at our qualities, this is not a team who should build up and hold possession. Our players e.g., Leao keep losing the ball every 2nd pass.

Fonseca has managed to somehow kill the effectiveness of our one of our 2 goal scoring outlets in Leao by letting him play as a quasi-left wing back or whatever the hell Leao is doing Theo’s position 80% of the time. and please sell chukuweze already for gods sake

    1. Leao is straight up trash. Not up to snuff.

If he didn’t have this crazy athleticism he would never make the first team.

  24. Let’s not have our only in from player shoot a penalty. What a disgraceful performance. Pulisic was not signed to be our top performer but he has.

  25. You guys have to realise that we don’t have a team yet. We simply have a bunch of individually good players and a bag of pride in that team.

Now you guys see that what happened to Pulisic is what happens to Chuks everytime he plays. He is open and they don’t pass to him and they only pass to him when he is marked with two to three players on him.

Theo is selfish and Leao is prideful, our midfield is nothing, we play our best players from the go. Why is Tammy and Morata playing together? They should come in for each other. Why is Morata playing 10?

I’m sure if Chuks played more than 10 minutes tonight, some of you would have blamed him for the loss.

We don’t deserve good players. Adli and De Kealatre is showing us that and look at what Kalulu is playing at Juve. We cannot be another Manchester United. Players leaving and playing better else where.

That’s going to happen to Chuks, Okafor and all the good players we have but we keep playing tits like Leao and Theo who think they are leaders but are nothing.

    1. Chuk I believe is more of a league issue. He’s just not a Serie A player. His best performances have been against Cl teams.

  26. Well, terrible terrible day for Theo; horrible display, especially in the first half. But most other scores above are off imo.

Mike (maybe a 6) saved a penalty but his weird deflection was what caused it in the first place. Other than that, didn’t make much of a difference. All the defensive line was at most a 5.5 today, including Fofana. We simply allowed Fiorentina way too much. Reijnders was actually the only player who was quite good, perhaps apart from Pulisic for his wonderful goal, and Leao wasn’t bad either. Our two strikers were non existent at best, and disruptive to our attack at worst.

Anyways, weak display by the team, and a very bad look on Fonseca. Let’s hope for better times

  27. Arguably the only four players who did well tonight were Mike (saved a PK; was burned by his teammates in both Fiorentina goals; not his fault), Fofana (not as good as last game, but still, decent), Gabbia (not great but not bad unlike most of his companions) and Pulisic (always a class act). The latter did get beat by Adli when Adli scored the first goal for Fiorentina; but he was trying to help the defense; it’s not his primary function so I forgive him. He also could have scored when Rafa set him up. But OK, he scored our only goal, so, he gets a pass.

I don’t understand why Pulisic didn’t take both PKs. I believe that he has never missed one in his entire career. I mean, we could have won 3-2 if Puli had taken them and converted them as he always did in his career.

Even Morata played poorly tonight (it’s the first time he doesn’t play well), and frankly, Abraham was a disaster. Not only he didn’t convert the PK, but he also missed several other opportunities. Theo, another disaster except for the assist. And now he has been expelled, and we know that we have absolutely nobody who can play left back well, so we are in trouble again. Why is Theo the captain if he can’t control his temper and he keeps antagonizing the refs???

I don’t know if Leão and Puli were tired. If they weren’t, they represented a bigger chance at creating something in the last few minutes than Okafor and Chuk, so I blame Fonseca too. Also, Tomori was visibly struggling; he should have subbed him out for Pavlovic. If he did, maybe we’d have avoided their second goal.

This was our worst game this season. It was even worse than the Parma game.

After what we showed tonight, any hope of winning the Scudetto seems kind of over-optimistic.

  28. Fonseca has declared to two TV channels after the game that Pulisic is the designated PK taker and he doesn’t know why the players changed it. He said he told the players that this can’t happen anymore.

I think that this is concerning. Fonseca doesn’t have control over his players? If Fonseca wanted Puli to take the PKs, then Puli should have been the one taking them, not Theo or Abraham. Apparently Morata tried to take the first one too. And Tomori gave the ball to Abraham. And Abraham refused to give the ball back to Puli.

One of the TV sports show said that Fonseca when he declared that, scored an own goal.

One, Fonseca should have imposed his will and then Puli should have taken the PKs. Two, Fonseca shouldn’t have said publicly that he doesn’t know why the players didn’t follow his directive regarding the designated PK taker. It sounds really weak.

For those here who may not know it, Pulisic has NEVER missed a PK in his professional career. He has converted ALL of them.

It’s inexcusable that he wasn’t allowed to take the two PKs tonight.

    1. I honestly don’t know what’s going on with dead balls generally.

We haven’t had a consistent (or even capable) penalty or direct free kick taker since Balotelli, and no consistent corner or indirect free kick taker since Pirlo.

It’s frankly unbelievable that of the hundreds/(thousands?) of players we’ve signed since these two we never managed once to find a player capable of doing probably two of the most important things on the pitch.

Scoring from set pieces is often the difference between winning and losing as shown tonight and against Inter.

Reijnders hit that great free kick against Inter. He should be put solely in charge of corners and indirect free kick so he can finally make a proper claim to being our creative force in midfield. If he fails then he needs to move on.

If Pulisic’s record of pens is as good as people are saying make him our pen taker.

There should be no making decisions on the fly on the pitch. Players should be implementing practiced routines on the pitch.

      This is basic stuff.

      1. AC Milan already has the player you are describing, but it seems that his teammates don’t respect him and he needs to harden his spine and stand-up for himself and the team.

Both of Pulisic’s assists this season were corner kicks which were converted, and he’s had a few other corners and free kicks that should have been converted, including the one Gabbia got his head to in the 6th minute.

After the Venezia match, he’s now 11 for 11 taking penalties for club and country, and he’s the designated PK taker for the USMNT.

The only penalty he ever missed was last year in a preseason match (and he tapped in the rebound), but that wasn’t an official match, since it was preseason.

        1. Not sure about ‘respect’ he’s clearly contributed a lot so don’t know why he wouldn’t be respected.

That just seems made up controversy.

What’s not made up are the stats you mentioned. I’d be happy for him to be our main dead ball specialist.

Can he score direct free kicks?

      2. This season we had 2 goals from set pieces (one against inter and one against Lecce). But these last years we’ve been relatively poor in the set pieces department (both defensively and offensively).
“Scoring from set pieces is often the difference between winning and losing as shown tonight and against Inter.”
I agree with this totally. Sometimes in dull and closed games, the difference between 0, 1 and 3 points is a freekick or a corner.
But I have to notice that football in general seem to have overall good freekick takers nowadays.
When I was young, almost every great or even average teams had a deadly freekick taker (Milan with Pirlo and Rui Costa, Real Madrid with Carlos and Beckham, Barcelona with Ronaldinho, Manchester Utd with C.Ronaldo and Scholes, Juventus with Del Piero, Roma with Totti, Shinter with Recoba, Chelsea with Lampard, Lyon with Juninho,…). But right now, with Messi and C.Ronaldo close to retirment, I can’t think of any great freekick taker. The greatest players today, Haaland and Mbappe, have yet to score one as far as I know.
I don’t know if I’m the only one who noticed that or if I’m correct.

        1. Interesting!

Is this just another example of how modern football is crap and over-complicated!

I remember when Çalhanoğlu arrived at Milan I was excited about his free kicks since he had scored a record number the season before.

          Then unfathomably he:

          a) was not given the main job of taking free pieces (we also had Rodriguez, Biglia, and probably Bonucci was allowed to take free kicks that season!).;

          b) ‘forgot’ how to score free kicks.

I remember when he was getting criticised (he always got criticised mostly by the same people who compliment now that he’s shat on the club) I used to defend him by saying ‘how does someone just forget how to score free kicks?”

          Anyway maybe keepers are better….

          1. Even with shinter, Çalhanoğlu doesn’t seem to be scoring a lot from freekicks which I found intersting. In the 2014/15 season, he scored 9 freekicks, but since then he only scored 6.
Sometimes an injury affects a player in a way that he “forgets” how to take a freekick. It happened with C.Ronaldo in 2010 and with Maradona in 1983 (although with the later it didn’t last and he regained his ability to take freekicks pretty well), but I can’t think of such an injury for Hakan.
Overall, I don’t think goalies are better, but maybe players are practising it less often and this xG stuff made them shy away from attempts and prefer options that offer more guarantees.

  29. Our players egos are the absolute biggest problem. The faster players like theo and leao learn that they aren’t bigger than the club or better than everyone and decide to be team players the faster we’ll succeed. The penalties and the statement now saying that pulisic is the designated taker and he didn’t get to take either of the two penalties shows this team has too much of an ego. Or set pieces and corners we have 5 different people taking them each time. Theo on corners maybe puts in 1 good ball out of 10 attempts. His other 9 not being able to pass the first man.

I hate to compare but look at inter. They have stars like lautaro and thuram but they know that calhanoglu will be taking all the set pieces. Our guys grab the ball and say no it’s mine.

Milan played like a real team against inter and it was their best performance in years and then when they face a “smaller club” that’s when the egos start to kick in the most.

If this is to continue its only going to bring down the team and once theres a rotten apple it needs to go. I’m so happy fonseca has the guts to sub off leao and I hope he does it for everyone that doesn’t give their all today. Leao thinks he’s a superstar and gets upset every time he’s subbed off but what has he done this season besides walk? I expect much more from him, theo and tomori. Tomori should actually be benched for pavlovic because besides pace he offers absolutely nothing.

    1. What egos???

What did ego have to do with Theo’s mistakes? They were just mistakes.

      What did Leao do wrong???

      1. Leao doesn’t run he was walking at all times. He gave up on that ball when he clearly could have got it. Theo thinking that a left back should be taking a penalty over a striker. When did that ever happen in the 90’s? Theo getting a red… Leao thinking he can do the bare minimum because he’s regarded as the best On the team. That’s having an ego buddy. Leao and theo iin general this season just seem to be creating problems

        1. What did leao do wrong? How about everything? He doesn’t freaking run. He never over lapped theo once for a pass instead doing that fake dummy run thinking someone will fall for it. Or Abraham always running onto his side to cover for him because he’s too lazy. Next game why don’t you keep an eye on just leao when he’s visible to see he doesn’t run. These days he can’t even beat his man anymore. I love these guys but leao is bugging me more and more these days. Pulisic should be an example for him.

          1. The pulisic that tracked back and allow Adli to score should be an example? Or the 2 strikers who are disruptive to every attack made? Or the Tammy (Roma’s reject) that couldn’t score to save life? Now that Leao tracks back he is not running.

        2. What’s any to this got to do with ‘ego’?

It’s this narrative that everyone just keeps repeating ‘ego’, ‘ego’, ‘ego’ which then turns to ‘sell them’ which then turns to ‘do you remember when we had Theo and Leao’…

Theo and Leao are legends given their hands in the Scudetto. They can walk around the pitch naked for all I care.

It’s the army of players we’ve signed since that need to prove themselves.

          1. You always mention scudetto but shouldn’t these ‘scudetto champions’ be showing these new signings what winning is all about? Leao and theo are the bad apples in this team with their attitude and they’re bringing the team down. It shouldn’t have to be Morata and Abraham encouraging those players to keep pushing. Our scudetto winners and captains should be the ones motivating a team yet they do the opposite. Tell me, do theo and leao come off as a champion present day in your eyes? If you think so we’re doomed. Because every single player we’ve signed this summer is at least trying to get this team to play and the guys that have been here the longest look like they don’t want to play. At least maignan has that champion attitude

  30. Stupid website.
You come here as an American to vent some of the anger after today’s match but you can’t post any meaningful comments while an imbecile like Rino is posting all racist and nasty comments without any limits.

Maybe it is time to leave this website to imbeciles like Rino and call it the Milan Zoo

    1. 1st amendment my man. I agree he is stupid but can also be easily ignored. He made himself to look foolish and no one will take him seriously ever again. It’s your choice to consume your football other places but you’ll find trolls and disturbed people everywhere you go.

      1. Agreed.

Rino’s like the best example of why we need free speech so that people can make fools of themselves!

Just make sure you guys do yourselves and the rest of the world a favour in November!

  31. Milan outplayed Fiorentina. Fiorentina outworked us. Defensively they were relentless.

Even with that we should have won having missed two penalties.

This game begins to make me think we are on the path of ManU with the inmates running the asylum.

Fonsy sounded a bit like ten Hag with his “dunno why Theo and Tammy took the pens”

That said we will lose a few. I just don’t like the way we lost.

    #soccer #usa #rinotrigger

    1. We’re exactly like Man Utd unable to shake off the shackles of the past.

Both Milan and Man Utd lack the patience to rebuild, and have managed to both overstate the quality of their great sides and understate the importance of identity.

Man Utd won titles with the likes of Bruce, Pallister, May, Gary Neville, Nicky Butt and Teddy Sheringham.

Milan won titles with the likes of Panucci, Tassotti, Eranio, Evani and Massaro.

People act like these sides were made up of gods. They were just made up of teams. Teams that played together for years.

It was the same with all great sides including Barca (Pujol, Pique ???), Juve (Bonucci??? Matri?), Real (Pepe???).

It’s not about having world beaters but players who play together for YEARS.

One of the big differences between big and small teams should be that bigger teams can keep their teams together for longer because they don’t have to worry as much about them being poached.

Milan voluntarily gave up Tonali in search of something better. Look where we ended up.

      1. You are getting the point. We don’t play as a team. It’s disheartening.

That’s where the ego is. We need a team that’s willing to boost each other’s confidence. People like Noah, Chukwueze, and the Youngsters from Milan Futuro need Senior players that can encourage them. Morata is supposed to take the position of Ibra in that team.

We need Theo and Leao to grow up! Please!

        1. Theo and Leao have grown up and were part of the team that delivered the Scudetto.

They played largely the same way then that they are now.

Where the wheels have come off is with the new signings none of whom have proven anything with Milan. They’re the ones the need to step up. Not the Scudetto winners.

  32. I don’t think Abraham was as bad as folks think. He missed a PK and also messed up another chance. His PK was well-placed and De Gea made a great save. But the fact that he took the ball for the PK and then blew it, not good at all. Leao was actually pretty good, I thought. Gabbia was quite good. Reijnders was as good, and so was Fofana. Maignan was also very good.

Pulisic was a star. His finish was some Erling Haaland magic kind of thing and he had multiple other difference-making plays. I think he was playing pissed after he got beat for the Adli goal, then pissed about not getting the PKs and the team losing. He cares a lot and gives the effort all the time. Theo and Leao do not. I agree with coach’s decision to pull him off. He was pressing late and he’s known to get injured. I want to see more of Chuk.

Theo was a mess. He’s one of the fastest players in the world and he jogs back on defense? On a good day, he’s the best LB In the world. And then he serves up this selfish display. I do worry this team is falling apart from a cohesion standpoint. Honestly, we miss Calabria’s leadership. Royal is a mess also, so Calabria can’t really be worse, and I think he’d do a good job as captain.

  33. What did I tell you about Theo and Leao so many times ? They are more a liability than a valuable resources. And now for me Tomori enter official in this trio of liability . We MUST get rid of them asap…
Of course…Emerson “Royal”, Usless-Cheek, Chukwuchukwu…obviously they must go, in this winter if it’s possible.

    1. You can’t send everyone packing. Nothing is working in this team right now. Our players seem not to know what’s like to play for glory. We don’t have a strong leadership amongst the players, no we don’t.

  34. Seria A league was the worst league in euro.If Ac Milan are in Premier League. They will be battling with relegation with their mediocre players and in experience coach

  35. Always a weak side, always going for a mediocre coach, all the coaches used by Milan in the last 10 years are very poor apart from Alegri .Pioli is neither here nor there, till today non has achieved anything after leaving Milan,Bonera has destroyed what ever Abate did with the youth team. Watching Milan is like a punishment.

    1. Bonera is not coaching the youth team, but Milan Futuro who are playing against actual non-primavera teams in Lega Pro, there’s a big difference.

  36. People say Fofana is not doing good enough but 70% of the time I see him cover for Emerson who’s usually lost, caught out of position and discplacing the ball. Not only is he making us appreciate Calabria more, he’s making the likes of Constant and Bonera top players compared to him.

As much as Theo and Leao are superstars, it’s only when they decide to be superstars. Otherwise they’re huge burden. And it seems they are bigger than the club cause they can do what the f ever they want and get away with it. It’s a no go and it’s time we get a disciplinarian coach who will put them in their place.

Again, it showed this team is poorly constructed. We’re just downgrading second season in a row and by now, it’s no more a coincidence it’s happening since RedBird took over. Spending 90 millions on midfield only to still be losing battles in the midfield. It’s actually banter era but with clean accounts.

Also, give Gabbia the armband. The last of the milanisti and it’s evident in the mindset. Man it pains me seeing how we’re running out of (pushing out, selling and giving away for free) milanisti. And many here even wholeheartedly support it…

    1. I agree on everything.
What I’m also worried about is Fonseca’s declaration about the penalties. I thought around inter’s game that he finally took control, but it seems that our locker room is heading towards a mayhem, where our superstars do what they want and it might create tensions among the players (if it is not already the case) which is very bad for the team.
Fonseca, Ibrahimovic and the rest of the management HAVE to intervene quickly. Decide quickly who is the captain (Calabria then Gabbia for me or straight up Gabbia). No more rotations for the armband and some behaviours (taking the penalty from the designated taker) have to be fined even if the penalty is scored.

  37. Genuine question: would people take the Derby win over finishing in the top 4?

Pioli was sacked for a bad run against the Scum even after he delivered 2nd and another top 4 finish.

Are we still happy with that outcome?

  38. The problems with this squad (I won’t use the term team) are huge and getting worse.

    1. Players – poor attitude and lack of effort (unforgivable)

    2. Manager – poor tactics, lack of ideas and clearly no control over his players

    3. Management – The squad is lacking in both quality and quantity

    1. Players – I’m greatly disturbed by the fact Pulisic had the penalties taken from him, it shows a lack of respect in the manager, lack of respect for Pulisic and an air of almost bully boy attitude from several players.

Manager – This is the 2nd time Fonseca has admitted the team did not do what he asked. It’s bad that happened and worse he admits to the world he has no control

Management – Where to start? They have had over 2 years and 5 transfer windows and the squad is a hot mess.
No back up or competition for Theo

Despite having Kjaer, Kalulu, Gabbia, Thiaw, Tomori and Simic last year, we decided to overhall. 3 players with Serie A experience left and 1 with Austrian league experience comes in.

RB situation is a joke and a farce. Nobody knows why Kalulu was exchanged for E.R. Or why if we wanted to buy someone we bought E.R????

Midfield – yesterday we had Fofana and T.J and no alternatives, even with RLC and Musah available they are not suited or good enough for this team. We should have another midfielder anyway!! We should have either kept Adli or replaced him with someone else.

Morata and Abraham work hard but neither are clinincal goal scorers, to be honest Abraham is just so so average.
I would have been happy to have Morata and another good young striker .

We don’t know what system to play and we don’t have the players to play any system. The construction of this squad is terrible!!

We have lost 4 times already and it looks like we will struggle in Italy and Europe this season.
I honestly think we may not make top 4 this season.
This is what happens when you get rid of the people who care and will fight, leaving the club to the prima donna’s
No leadership on or off the pitch.

I didn’t care by the end of last nights match, and I always care, they give you no optimism

      1. Mostly agree except RLC is clearly good enough for our midfield given he’s a Premier League winner and scored 10 goals in his first season in Serie A

We’ve all got opinions but I really wish the Bandwagon Ones were more tethered to reality.

  39. This is a Milan without structure.
Apart from Maignan and Gabbi, the rest are awful. We have no midfield – our best mf is Fofana and he must be wondering what he’s let himself in for – rarely a man forward he can pass to, in fact Morata was the player who came back to receive many times, which took him out of the attack.
Leao is a mystery to me in fact, no-one seems to pass to him anyway unless they have to. I would say yesterday, even though Emerson is not at all dangerous, he seemed to see an awful lot of the ball (probably because Fiorentina wanted us to play down that flank) – I thought our left was our weapon?
And our attack? This is what happens when you don’t spend money. Morata is a fantastic addition but he can’t carry this attack.
The coach – I’m not sure he knows what subs are for, worse, if that was possible, than Pioli – he say’s anyone can be captain and apparently anyone can take penalties – I’m not sure what happens at halftime team talks but I’d be surprised if he leads them.
Yesterday, after picking up a petulant booking, I would have removed Tomori at HT and brought on Pav – Abraham should have followed on the hour and I agreed with the Leao sub – he should only be used off the bench when we only has to survive for 10 or 15 minutes..
There are some changes that need to be made to this starting lineup and formation and I’m not sure the is coach has the gonads to do it

    1. Colombo is a better finisher than Tammy

Adli is better than RLC or Musah

      Alexi is better than Chucky

      Kalulu is better than Emerson

      1. I am not sure what these arbitrary ratings achieve….

I mean again Adli never won anything v RLC proven winner.

This is the exact problem the management have!

They took a Scudetto winning side and just sort of assumed all of these new players from mid table teams in foreign leagues were better

        Look above.

The players who receive the most criticism are the last remaining Scudetto winners – with the same trending terms overused:

        #MaignanAlwaysInjured
        #CalabriaPastIt
        #TomoriDisaster
        #Theo&LeaoEgos
        #ScudettoWinnersOut

Meanwhile many of the blow ins over the past few years have all been awarded incident club legend status.

I mean Reijnders was better today (in that he actually was available to receive the ball) but where is this almost universal praise coming from?

He’s won nothing. For Milan or anyone else.

Adli has never won anything and probably never will.

So how’s he better than anyone?

Pulisic and RLC at least brought proven winning experience, and it showed given they contributed more than any of our other signings last season.

        But #RLCOut is trending.

Do any of you actually think outside of the Group?

        1. Not sure where you’re getting at with this “proven winner thing”, although you already admitted that you like RLC and you dislike Adli so your biais is showing.
I mean Adli was playing with Bordeaux, what do you expect him to win ? By your logic we should never brought Rui Costa who won peanuts before coming to us. Real Madrid shouldn’t have brought Bellingham, Man City shouldn’t have brought Haaland,… Please note I’m not comparing the players, but the situation where a players having not won something = player is trash.
Chelsea’s best season lately was the 2020/21 when they won the UCL and when RLC was loaned to Fullham. Sine he came back in 2021, they didn’t win anything but 1 game or 2 games titles against weaker teams, so it doesn’t seem he was that much needed.
I have friends who support Chelsea and they don’t think that highly of him and they thought him being used as an AM was ridiculous.

          1. “Proven winner” thing means that he gets to say “Krunic is a legend” without feeling guilty for sniffing all the glue that f*ed up his brain. Even the waterboy is a “proven champion”. Ibrahim Ba is a legend too. A GOAT. Why? Scudetto-winner. Best of the best of the best. 🙂

        2. What has RLC won?

fyi every player works their way up and hopefully ends up winning, nobody starts with a medal.
Has Kaka won anything before joining us?

I think you just like to argue about everything.
RLC has been absolutely terrible for all of 2024 which is how most of his career was.
Mostly he doesn’t suit our sytem(s)

      2. RLC costed us 20M€, Musah 20M€, Chukwueze 30M€ and Emerson 15M€.
        That’s 85M€ wasted over 2 transfer windows.
Imagine what we could have brought with this money…

        1. +20 goal poacher. And perhaps someone like Chiesa as the RW. Someone who can get the ball into Viola’s net without needed 3 penalties to do that…

          1. If I had to redo the 2023 summer window, I would have considered the following:
            We spent about 120-130M€.
            Still bring Pulisic for 20M€.
Go for Koopmeiners (valued 30M€ that summer).
Go for Hjulmand (sold for 19,5M€ that summer).
Go for Ricci (valued around 20M€ that summer).
Go for Calafiori (although he was sold for 24,5M€ that summer).
            Brought Riccardo Orsolini or Berardi.
Sell Krunic for 10-15M€ and bring Dominguez or Ferguson from Bologna.
That should still leave around 30-40M€ if I’m correct, which we can use to bring Scamacca and one of Jovic/Okafor.
This summer I think we should’ve gone for:
            Sell/Loan Bennacer and keep Adli.
            Mats Hummels instead of Pavlovic.
            Renew to Simic.
Keep Kalulu instead of buying Emerson.
Which will save us around 33M€ and maybe allow us to go for Hojbjerg, Ricci and/or even Koopmeiners.
But this is just me. Perhaps some here know better players and deals than what I’ve proposed.

          2. That would have been a scudetto-winning team for sure. Equipped to do well in UCL too. Too bad Moncada isn’t up to the task.

  40. Just get the ball to pulisic in dangerous areas and this would at least increase scoring opportunities.

How he’s not being set up to receive more balls is beyond me.

    1. Because fofana is on the right and he’s struggles to find space in the build up and struggles to complete passes (he seems to be conserving energy). He also is defensive in his positioning but he’s not a ball winner like musah who has won the same number of tackles in 1/5th the minutes. The counters from musah are a big part of leaos involvement as well as movement through the middle of the field….without him the wingers have to drop very deep to get the ball.

  41. Not fair to blame the players? They are a bunch of primadonnas without a slimmer of professionalism, no grit and majority of the time are selfish and in it of themself. Doesn’t matter what coach you get with these lazy players. If you don’t have 11 players who work hard you lose, simple. Until we set “talent” aside and focus on getting the right characters in we will continue to relay on individual talents. Leao even said it him self, he have no intention of changing, he is what he is. Loser mentality
