Player Ratings: Lazio 2-2 AC Milan – Emerson disaster; subs life-saving

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan failed to clinch their first win of the season but managed to come back from behind to at least secure a point against Lazio. A few players impressed, while others should have done better, and below are the ratings for the Rossoneri.

If you haven’t already, make sure to check out how we decide the player ratings. From the scale to what affects the rating, we have compiled everything there.

Starting XI

Maignan (6): He couldn’t go anything about the goals, left completely alone by the defenders once again, and he had a couple of good interventions. He also had a good stop towards the end from close range, but he could have been a bit better with his feet.

Emerson Royal (4.5): Added absolutely nothing when going forward, and we truly mean nothing, while he was caught off guard on both goals. Especially the second as it was awful defending, instantly making things difficult for his teammates.

Tomori (5.5): He got caught out on a few occasions and while there were good moments from him tonight, we also would have liked to see a lot more leadership since he was the captain. When Milan was at their worst build-up-wise, he should have upped the tempo and directed his teammates.

Pavlovic (6.5): This is a very tough one, because the Serbian did really well to open the scoring and made several good interceptions throughout the game. However, the defending on both goals conceded was not good enough, especially on the second one as he completely lost the battle against Dia. Still, the rating here shows how much good he did (and the issues with the goals were also collective).

Terracciano (6): He did just about enough to get a pass here, i.e. a 6, given that he worked hard and actually had some good moments in defence as opposed to the pre-season. Then again, he also had some questionable moments.

Fofana (5): The Frenchman wasn’t good enough with his passing and took some strange risks, or rather showcased poor decision-making, on a few occasions. It probably has a lot to do with match fitness, but he can do a lot better.

Reijnders (5): Milan’s build-up was incredibly static and they would have needed the trademark runs/dribbles of Reijnders. We didn’t see this, though, and he failed dribbling-wise when he did get forward.

Chukwueze (5): As much as Emerson didn’t defend well, the Nigerian could have tracked back a lot more and was often found way too high in the defensive phase. Furthermore, in attack, the winger didn’t have much success either.

Loftus-Cheek (5): Used his physique nicely on a few occasions, but it didn’t mean much in the end. He didn’t really add anything to the attack aside from some runs which, due to not playing the pass at the right moment, didn’t materialise in anything either.

Pulisic (6): He got the assist for Pavlovic with a nice corner and he combined well especially with Okafor in the first half. However, he faded a bit as the game went on and only in the dying minutes did we see some good runs in between midfield and defence (plus in the centre).

Okafor (6.5): Given how poor Milan’s build-up was – virtually non-existent – the Swiss international did so well to still get hold of the ball and create chances for the Rossoneri. He was behind getting the corner (which led to the first goal) thanks to great skill before playing it to Pulisic. Faded a bit, yes, but had very little to work with.

Substitutes

Hernandez (6): He worked hard in both phases this time out, as seen on the goal, and that was nice to see. We can only hope that he will continue to improve his physical condition.

Musah (6): The American added some energy to the game and looked good in possession, not afraid to take on his man and actually pushing forward which we didn’t see from the other midfielders tonight.

Leao (6.5): It’s a goal that could mean a lot in the long run and, hopefully, it will also boost his confidence after what has been a tough start to the season.

Abraham (6): It was a very nice assist for Leao on the goal and he had another good shot at the very end of the game. Very positive debut from him and he will record some high ratings if he continues on that path.

    1. and people think he’s better than Bellanova/Kayode…. Emerson, RLC, Jovic aren’t and have never been AC Milan material… milanista like Colpani or even Liberalli would have been more useful than RLC… Tammy first assist, let’s see but we should have done better on ST as well

hopefully in winter, Bologna’s Ferguson comes and J.David on pre-contractual agreement for the summer. We should let RLC go back to EPL…

          1. This our team go suffer this season hen ee go beg pioli to come save us, I’m not sure Fonseca has a pattern of play, everyone is just running around the ball aimlessly

    2. Thank you 🙏 I was hoping Milan would hv brought in a better player even on loan like Bellanova or keep Kalulu instead of wasting money on Emerson rather add the money in getting a better creative midfielder

      1. Are you kidding? Watch the second half. The step to 2 step out of positioning which required lunging. We’re lucky we tied even without the no call handball.

Seriously. I want this guy to succeed and was cheering his performance in the first half.

The second half. Dismal at best and if YOU don’t think so, you need to have played a bit more in your youth and young adult.

        1. Second half was good apart from the second goal. Not dismal, against you don’t watch or play football if you think he was that bad. He made countless tackles, interceptions and clearances. And he has no support around him because our defense is GARBAGE.

Nothing worse than yanks talking about football.

    1. Totally agree. His defending is very subpar. Same kind of mistake as in Parma. Does not read the crosses, and moves slowly. Disasterclass from him Emerson and Terracciano.

  1. I totally agree with the ratings. Perhaps I would give 4 to Emerson Royal and to Zlatan as well who offered Kalulu to Juventus and paid so much money for Emerson Royal!

    1. OMG i totally forgot Kalulu when played on Calabria’s position was better before the long injurie.
yeap. we gonna get a bag of goals on that side..

      1. Dude you have too much pride. Why can’t you admit you are wrong? You are not the founder of Milan to think your opinion is the final authority. Your management suck. Get over it.

        1. “Too much pride”? 🙂 I am critical of RedBird when it’s deserving – I’m just not hysterical over every little thing like some people on here. Get over it.

    2. Thought Pulisic created more than you mentioned, should have had another assist had RLC not stuck his foot out on Pulisic’s cross. Plus a good cross to Chuk who at least should have worked the keeper with his volley. Maybe Pulisic could have got a . 5 higher, but tbh it’s not a big deal. We keep conceding the same type of goals every match, a cross with a runner meeting in the middle or back post on a counter. The team doesn’t pass fast enough, the midfield was non existent, I don’t recall reindeers doing anything which is unlike him. Morata needs to hurry up and heal. Get Rabiot before the window closes if it hadn’t closed already

  2. Pavlo came to reinforce the defense and he became the boss of it. Anyone noticed how Mike usually passed to him, not Tomori?
    Tomori was basically invisible

  3. Lol so I and a couple of other random fans could figure out that Emerson is usless from just a few clips of him but our scout couldn’t after actually scouting him !? I guess that’s says a lot about the quality of our scout. Glad that the rest of you are finally on board.

      1. 💯

I am still to find a single fan that was optimistic about this signing. Literally everyone that watches football across la liga or PL knows he’s shocking. Spurs fans were worried he’d be their BalloToure ie not good enough for the side but can’t find any buyers.

But we are the club with a special scouting algorithm, and instead of loaning this useless unwanted spurs reject we paid for a permanent transfer. At least if we loan-with-option we would only need to put up with this trash for a season.

          1. Are you sure they weren’t just happy that Calabria was being replaced, rather than thinking Emerson is actually good?

Nonetheless he was garbage at spurs so will be surprised if he turns out to be good for us. I’m hoping he turns into at least an average squad player so we don’t need to desperately offload him for a loss after only 1 season

    1. yeah you 10 year old tiktok kids clearly know better than everyone

this is perfect for you people here Milan isnt winning makes this place extremly happy

      Enjoy celebrating while you can

  4. We need a RB… Maldini’s Heir must be crying his eyes out Calabria didn’t come on but I think that game just about sums it up. Absolute sh*t show from Royal and Fonseca would rather put the mediocre Terraccimediocco out there than play our supposed “captain.”

      1. Ted you forget he is Cardinale supporter. He has to cope somehow, twist things and convince himself that the management didn’t do nothing wrong by bringing that Emerson guy. Cardinale supporters do this all the time lol.

          1. @ACM1899 – it’s a mess (which management are partly responsible for, trolls). I’m trying to remember if we’ve had a decent RB since Cafu.

      2. He had been scapegoating Calabria anytime our defense was poor for the last 3 years. It’s an instinct now, hard to shake old habit at this point.

  5. How did Terracciano get a “pass”? Got a yellow & conceded a penalty with was not given.

He is not making himself available & often looks away, so he wouldn’t receive a pass, as he is afraid to mess up. Has zero ideas what to do with the ball.

This is not a Milan quality player nor will ever be.

    1. He didn’t made a penalty. The ball bounced from his leg that’s why it is not a penalty. It is unintentional and not much that he can do about it. Similar penalty was not given in the world cup when the ball bounced from a player head in to his arm. Also he did ok defensivley, don’t know why people expect from him to play like Theo Hernandez, he is not Theo.

        1. What do you think he should have done better ? He took one shot at goal which was partly blocked, he even kind of created that chance with his long pass and run. In defence no goal came from his side, and he cut a bunch of passes from the opposition. He had to shaky moments but he recovered. Not perfect but not bad either.

    2. To me he look a lot better. It wasn’t a penalty because it was unintentional and it was a natural body position given the situation. Are you sure that you’re a football fan?

  6. This was a slightly encouraging performance, but far from enough. Our midfield is still not good enough, hence we can’t control matches. Essentially, we have five players in the midfield (the 3 mids and 2 fbs) that can and should midate and absorb the pressure. Too often we couldn’t do this during the match, in particular in both goals.

All and all a draw away at Lazio isn’t terrible. But we’re fighting again for top 4 this season, make no mistake about it. 7 points dropped in the first three games is a big hole to dig up from

    1. The results of the unpopular choice RB are here to roost.

How does one keep RLC on the pitch for the entire 90 minutes after the performance on match day 2? And I don’t get the coach’s obsession with Musah. I guess all coaches make decisions that are generally annoying to the fans, but they see something that the rest of us don’t. But the results speak for themselves – 2 points from 3 games. No way to spin this. It’s a disastrous start.

    1. Yes , how long do you think he has as Milan boss?
I think if he doesn’t get them playing together on the same page, then maybe 2 or three games.

Just remember they are in 14 spot on the ladder!

  7. 3 games.

We are speaking about Parma Torino nad Lazio

Can you imagine, those three clubs together doesn’t have revenue like Ac

    What we talking about ?
    Players ratings after the games?

It is 0, 0, 0. Now imagine what will happen in champions league

  8. It seemed like our opponents didn’t even had to sprint to get pass Emerson 😀 They were just casually moving with a bit increased pace and he couldn’t catch up. I guess now you see what a bad RB really is. Next time respect Calabria and all he has done for this team.

      1. Calabria has been among the top RB in Seria A for a couple of seasons now. Defence wise he has been the best RB in Seria A for couple of seasons again. That post is made for the likes of you who keep scapegooting the guy all the time.

  9. Terraccino was abysmal along with Royal.

This reminds me so much of Montella/Giampaolo’s side from the dead years. I hope that Fonesca figures this out over the break because they so bad that I don’t know how much more lack of inspiration this side can take!

  10. Moncada is the biggest scouting fraud in football history 😆😆. I don’t know how the hell he managed to fool everyone and pass himself off as a scouting magician… there are probably some vested financial interests behind him getting him this PR. But the man is a complete fraud.
We have the most incompetent club management in the world right now. Furlani (he is one of the pawns of the Rothschild family in Italy), about Moncada I have said everything there is to say, Ibrahimovici as a manager is an absolute clown, arrogant and ignorant, Scaroni is the man of the Rothschild family. I wouldn’t be surprised if Jerry Cardinale and his investment fund are also a branch of Blackrock (aka Rotschild family). That would also explain why this club became a disaster, it was transformed into a woke club. The only purpose in life of these Rothschild parasites is financial speculation.
I know…I’m a thin foil hat 😆😆 because is so hard for some people to do a research and get out of the mainstream eco chamber bubble.

    1. Right on Brother this management is totally incompetent Ibra is a total clown as a manager they had Maldini these POS got rid of as soon as they could after the scudetto you just can’t buy class which Maldini has an abundance of, Ibra loved you as a player you just don’t have the charisma man get out now save face before it’s too late
Furlani can Kiss my you know what

  11. Milan looked solid for 60 minutes. Lazio had only 1 shot total up to that point.
Fonseca was late with the subs, especially putting on Tammy.
Okafor played well, worked hard but he isn’t a striker, and not having that anchor up top to hold up play hurt Milan.
Nuno Tavares is a full back. As much criticism as Emerson deserves for the goals, he was surrounded by both Zacagni and Nuno because Chukwueze wasn’t there. Emerson actually kept Zacagni in check.
    Poor game by Reijnders today.
Terracciano did well in the first half but Ericksen caused him problems in the 2nd.
Pavlovic was great at the beginning but absolutely bullied on Lazio 2nd goal.
The prima donnas came on with some energy, combined on the goal, and were in their feelings. Not even being in the huddle with the rest of their teammates during cooling break. That’s expected from Leao but Theo is supposed to be the vice captain. Act like grown men, or put your transfer requests. There are still some leagues with open transfer windows.
Hopefully Morata is back after the break or Tammy needs to start because without striker up top Milan is toothless.
Also, Rabiot needs to be signed. Sell someone to the Saudi league and get Rabiot in.

    1. We all saw the match mate we don’t need a second rate commentary.

It was a f****** disastrous performance like the two before them. It’s to be expected though after appointing a s*** coach and signing some s*** players like Royal. That’s what s*** management brings to you.

      Good times 👍

    2. I’m not going to criticise individual players because the system is terrible but Emerson never once had a handle on Zacagni.

As for the so called ‘prima donna’s’ these are players that have consistently delivered for Milan over the past 4 seasons and have helped return Milan to the top.

It’s up to the club and coach to motivate and keep these players at the top. If we lose them then we lose some of the only proven winners in the team.

    3. D Rabiot part spoil d whole write up… Rabiot is not a classic DM, he is not a creative player… Earns 9m and is unsellable… Do u think all d other clubs are senseless to be avoiding Rabiot? If a player of his supposed calibre couldn’t get a club for d whole of d transfer period, it should send u a message… Rabiot is just a white elephant

  12. Sometimes I disagreed with Pioli’s strategy/lineups/favoritism , but at least we were not out of the Champions League by week 3. Inter are licking their chops. By first of December Leao and Theo will want out.

  13. Milan fans don’t understand Gerry’s goal. He bought Milan to do player trading, just like Chelsea’s present owners. He does not care about winning trophies. He just wants the club to get cheap players. Some can be sold at a loss if they fail; others can be sold at a profit if they succeed. The important thing in the end is that the profit will be higher than the loss, and Milan keep debt-free balance sheets. This all in the end is translated into a higher evaluation of Milan as an asset, which means economic profit for Gerry in the end.
Gerry is not dumb. He knows very well that to become a competitive team, Milan needed a better coach than Fonseca, and much better players than the ones Milan took in. It is just that a competitve Milan is not his main concern.

    1. I mean he explained it all in a podcast, even said Toulouse were his trial club to see if things could really work that way and that Billy Beane persuaded him to invest in European football exactly because of player trading and resale potential. Of course until a stadium is built (til now it’s imaginary only), then he won’t think twice to sell thd club for a fine profit. If he won’t give up first.

But some here just won’t accept this fact.

    2. U are just a Calabria hater…. Milan have bought about 5 RB to replace Calabria, yet he keeps thumping them. Starting from Conti to terraciano, dest, Dalot and co… Calabria may not offer as much going forward but defensively, he is too 3 in serie A.. get used to it

    3. Sure, after spending over €200 million and only selling one player for a huge profit. I think you’ll find for RedBird to get a return, they have to make the team successful. You don’t understand finance.

  14. Highly disappointed in this performance. I think Chuk, Terra and Royal are super trash. Chuk is actually garbage.

Our right side without Pulisic’s work rate is SUPER trash.

Okafor works hard but he is not a ST and happy the team brought another ST to compete with Morata and Jovic.

  15. How can you give RLC anything other than zero is beyond me. He could have sat on the sideline for 90 minutes and nothing would have played out differently.

        1. He turned and attacked a number of times, won free kicks in dangerous positions, and played simple passes.

He was by far the best of our 3 midfielders.

What exactly did or does Reijnders do?

      1. ”Carried the ball well”, I’m sick and tired of fans like you looking for reasons to praise this clown. He is totally useless as a player. Bring him on as a sub when we need someone to hold the ball and use their physicality, but as a starter, we might as well start with one fewer man in midfield because RLC is garbage.

        1. I’m sick and tired of:

          a) ‘fans’ hating our players;
          b) not knowing anything about football;
          c) targeting the players who actually do their jobs well.

  16. Rafa Rafa simply the man of the match, whailing whailers can say what they like, he just saved someone’s Job, half fit leao needs to play.
The Left wing remains deadly Theo great play.
Emerson non sense and waste of money
    Terraciano poor
Pavlovic lacks awareness at the centre but can be better
    Musah ok

  17. You fire the footballing legend and that’s what Milan is left with now. Moneyball approach led them to EPL rejects who can run faster but bad in everything else. HArd to know tactical knowledge and footballing AI with moneyball approach. Why Gabbia is not playing. He played well at the end of last season.

    1. You do realize Seria A been buying EPL reject before Redbird. DE Jong, Jovetic, Aquilani, Eriksen, Lukaku twice now, Balotelli, Tevez, the list goes on. Try something original 😒

      1. Most players you mentioned made their name in Serie A first. Tevez, De Jong were playing before they moved to Serie A. Lukaku this time is a bench warmer but he proved himself during multiple loan spells. But Milan bought EPL a lot of Chelsea bench warmers, hence the rejects. RLC, Royal, Tomori, even Puli are not playing in Chelsea (Puli playing occasionally but the rest played nothing). Is that original for you?

        1. RLC had a decent season last year. He’s being played out of position, he play best as a CM . Royal is bad idk why we got him. I’d take Bisaka ahead of him. Dalot did well for us but united didn’t want to sell.

    2. The club is being run similarly to Chelsea and Manchester united before Enos no technical director with clear vision just a quick fix.
I look at Inter squad at least 4 of their players are players we miss manage. From Haka, to Frattesi, Marcus Turham, Arnatovic are recent screw up of poor Technical management.
learn from Elliot and Oak tree. Remove yourself and hire competent personel

      1. Bottom line is if you don’t have middlefeld to help in the defense you u have a big problem. We use to have Gatuso and Ambrosini to help who do you have now?
Second, Milan middlefeld can’t hold the possesion or create something of value.
This is now several years without quality in the middle and we expect some great results. I see Milan been between 5-9 place at the end of the season. Others have improved, Milan has not.

  18. Kalulu had proven himself, but right from time, I knew Emerson Royal was not the right fit for Milan, rather, Kalulu with enough playing time would have been more a Milan class defender. Be it as it may, Emerson has to pick himself up and be the player he was tipped to become in Milan. He now has to prove himself after this horrendous debut, and make sure the club does not regret the confidence it had in him, bringing him to Sansiro.

    1. Emerson was at Chelsea the same time that Pulisic was, and the few times he actually played, he was terrible. He can’t, and really won’t, defend and he’s mediocre going forward.

He has some of those dribbling skills that most Brazilians seem to be born with, and makes the odd spectacular run, but the end product is almost always garbage.

To be honest, he’s basically Chukwueze at RB, except that Chuk will actually provide the end product, occasionally.

  19. That was an improvement and against a decent team. Nothing wrong with getting better a little at a time. That level of quality and organization would have beat Torino and Parma but not Juve or Inter.

If Chukwueze can get to his better level on the right, move Puli back to AM. The comparable quality is close but Puli is a bit more creative and explosive than RLC. RLC’s size, durability, and athleticism however cannot be discounted. Tough call for Fonseca on the best offensive look. Chuk wasn’t at his top level…probably 80% of that.

Let’s try to be more positive and supportive fans.

  20. D*mbass management wasted money on Emerson and they sent Kalulu away. Fkin hell.

Fofana clearly not the “DM” we need. Another wasted money.

And so much for “lazy” Theo and Leao lol.

2 draw and 1 lost, the time is ticking for Fonseca.

    1. @Forza Milan right on this management is totally clueless Emerson = Origi suck that up management
It’s become quickly evident that Chekuazi and Royal can never ever play the right side together way to Furlani Moncada Ibra …Scaroni you don’t even count suck my you know what

  21. Ok, I thought the offensive issue wasn’t the wingers. Chuck was fine and Pulisic created a few chances. Lazio had the sidelines covered so neither one could drive. The midfield is MIA. Do they know how to turn with the ball or turn and switch the ball? Watching the backline pass it back and forth with no movement by the midfielders drove me crazy. At the end it took Pulisic coming back, picking up the ball and driving forward to create a decent chance for Tammy. A midfielder should be doing thaI think there is a reflective response to Musah. At least he picks the ball up and will try to drive forward. Does it always work- no. But tell me what the midfield did all game- turning and pushing the play forward -zero, switches- zero, runs in the box- zero, did RLC even play? Also, we can see how much better the team is with a real #9. Big contribution to Leão’s goal.

    1. “Chuck was fine” must be the funniest joke in this century.

He is not fine. He’s never been fine and I doubt he will ever be fine.

Invest in a pair of glasses. It will do you good.

  22. It’s a shame for the management .
They had 3 months and they found players like Royal?
Also Chuku is generally bad winger.
This is not Milan and we have CL with strong teams in front .
Fonseca must leave sooner than later

  23. Needs to remind everyone in here that right now Milan is in 14th place.

Keep this result and at the end of the season Milan will jump back to Serie B lol.

  24. Tera got 6? How ? Lol
Just a quick reminder RB Lezpic paid 25 mil for Lutsharel Geertruida a right back who is valued over 30 mil and way better than Emerson or Calabria, and there was Bellanova, Kadioglu the guy from Fiorentina how tf our clowns paid 20 mil for Emerson ?
And they spent around 70 mil this summer except for Pavlo there is no improvements anywhere. The scudetto is lost already I just hope all 3 of them will get fired ( Furlani, Moncada and Ibra)

  25. Cardinale / Ibra / Fonseca / Moncada : all out plz! Come on! They really think we’ll finish in top 4 this season? That would be miraculous if we are in top 10, it’s a disaster! Royal Emerson, Terraciano, Fofana (I said so far he’s the new Bakayoko), what can we expect? All team are improving their squad expect us.

  26. Basically this was poor coaching. at half time, Abraham should have come on for RLC, Okafor switched out left and Puli into the middle – that would have supplied us with the impetus to push for a second goal – we didn’t and got carved open twice ina few minutes and then it’s too late – the choice to leave out Leao and Theo, up to then, was paying off – but he didn’t have the guts to tweak the things that needed tweaking, at half time, which ultimately has cost us a win.
So, RLC is not an AM – he’s not actually that good a player; bench at best.
I don’t really know what to say about Emerson – everyone knew he was bad except our talent scout – Whoever was involved in that recommendation should be fired immediately!
Tomori as captain? Panic attack Tomori – hates being pressed – sometimes he looks like he’s going to cry – I worry for his future too.
Pavlovic, bless him, needs a partner who’s comfortable on the ball, like a Van Dijk type – he can’t do all the defending on his own and we have to do a lot of that because we have a shite midfield, who can’t get past a man and pass back 90% of the time.
I also hope that Fofana is better than what we saw this evening – too many loose passes and he doesn’t look a DM
Chuck – wasn’t the worst player tonight but he is pretty useless down the right – a waste of 28m certainly – We could have had Isaksen last season for 8m and he’s ten times better than Chuck

  27. Terracciano has NO BUSINESS being on the A TEAM !! He was behind runners in the box today. PULI S numbers will go down greatly with him with no flow and ,not being able to link the ball forward to Pulisic will hurt us.Royal was beaten several times which cost us. Chuk ,THE ONE FOOTED LOSER was again lousy and non productive And lastly can we get someone who can actually evaluate the players correctly. Terracciano a 6 !!!!! SORRY PICK A NEW SPORT TO EVALUATE OR TRY WATCHING OFF THE BALL. GOOD LUCK

  28. Royal wasn’t great but he’s also being made a bit of a scapegoat here, personally I think Fofana had more responsibility and Emerson was never given any cover – no defensive cover inside him where we’ve needed a DM for years and no cover in front of him from Chukwueze who pressed well but didn’t track back much.

Neither Reijnders or Fofana seemed to be able to take any Lazio players out of the game, we only had success when pretty much bypassing them – to be fair to RLC, he was offering the only midfield ball carrying for a lot of the game.

Biggest issue was game management; we played well in the first half after a shaky opening but didn’t adapt at all to the changes Lazio had made until it was too late.

  29. Calabria is not fantastic, but, way better than Royal and Terraciano combined. We have to keep managing him until we get a good right back. Royal should have been acquired on a loan, not a permanent deal. We didn’t play so well because of the absence
of our big boys after their poor showings in the first two games. Good that we have a coach who doesn’t rely on individuals. And, no first team shirt for anyone; it will be based on merit. Musah’s game is improving. I hope he continues like this. Good response from the team. I believe they will get better over time.

  30. For the “journalist” of this “article”…Pavlovic 6,5,terraciano 6,tomori 5,5,emerson 4,5???in case you don’t wanna create a false illusion for the blinds than stop drinking or taking drugs and write stories here…those muppets were nowhere in defence, absolutely a f disgrace!

  31. Terrancino is terrible. Walked back on that second goal and was lucky not to give up a PK for a hand ball. This was the mastermind signing last January? Pls loan this kid of just sell him in January. He is not good at all. Better to play Jimenez

Chukuweze lol. This kid continues to disappoint. Him and Emerson (atrocious) on the same side of the pitch??? comical. Seems to me Chuk may be one of those players that are good when there is no pressure (playing for small teams, preseason wonder, practice assassin) – but can’t hack it on the big stage.

RLC – did he even play??

Pavlovic did well BUT still shows he needs to learn proper positioning as he got turned inside by Dia that lead to the goal.

Did the experiment work? Kinda? Maybe? Maybe not??

Was nice to see Tammy actually look lively and healthy. Also Nice to see a real #9 that can be a target man and hold up play and lay the ball off – just as he did w Leao’s goal. And what about Leao?? Well when you needed him most he delivered – and saved Fonsecas job at least until after the Inter game.

To me all this game shows is Fonseca is not the right coach and Redbird have no ambition to win titles

Embarrassing for a club with our history

  32. Too bad people don’t wanna see what these frauds of”owners”are doimg here…Just think about the money were declared being paid for players like chukuwweze, emerson, rlc, terraciano, okafor, musah….which of these players are actually wothy of those transfer amounts?None. They took Maldini out cause he was in their way and installed a snake like Ibrahimovic supposed to be a lion and actually becoming a lap chiuahuaha.Ibrahimovic is used only for his image to try to tell a story that this project is real and made to win trophies when actually all this is just a business and a laundryrama for all those wiseguys behind “redbird”…

  33. Unless and until we play some homegrown players we r not going to win anything.

Gabbia and Liberalli should place a transfer request and leave Milan.
We are practically destroying Italian talents

  34. Didn’t watch the match as i got too hammered and fell asleep an hour before the match started and just awoke now but it looks like a crisis. Guess people is starting to miss Pioli now, at least that fella knew how to get some points when needed 😛

Anyone who can describe how we overall played ?

    1. like s***. Rinse and repeat of the first two games. Scored on a corner, got lucky not to concede more throughout the match and Leao+Theo saved someone’s backside by entering and immediately scoring the equalizer by their individual brilliance, thus stealing another point.

Then they refused to join other players and Fonseca during the cooling break. The clown has already lost the locker room.

      1. Wow so we really managed to play as bad as we did in the first 2 matches, shocking.

What do you mean by your last comment, did they seriously orchestrate some sort of an in indirect revolt? guess it was good i got myself some sleep then .

        1. They just didn’t join the rest of the team on the touch line to get instructions from the coach. Stayed on the other side of the pitch and stared. They tried to play it down after the match but obviously it was an act of dissent.

    2. We’re in crisis since we only had 2 points in 3 match and now we’re currently at 14th place.

And I bet people who wants Pioli to leave already licked their spits from the ground when Fonseca is as bad if not worst than Giampolo.

      1. Seems so at this point.

Even though he had his shortcomings he did have a good outcome point wise. I guess the grass is always greener….

  35. And we sold: Kalulu, Simic and even Salemakers is better than Emerson and Terachano. This is bloody ridiculous. Who is right? Tell me we were wrong and management was right doing all that shit. Now sell Benacer and we are completely f***d

  36. If there is one team in Serie A with a worse choice regarding their coach it’s Lazio. If there is one club with a worse owner and management then it’s Lazio. Joke of a team and we barely got a point against them. Played like s*** yet again. 14th place and we could drop further down. Now Imagine the rest of the season.

    Enjoy ✌️

    1. Ha ha I was thinking the same thing!

At least Lazio have some identity and players with a vague connection to the club, the league, and the country.

Lazio started with 4 Italians, including childhood supporter Romagnoli. Patric has been at the club approaching 10 years.

Our longest serving player, captain and youth player was dropped and replaced with Emerson Royal.

Is there even any real point in supporting this version of Milan?

      What is it?

What are this random collection of individuals who are currently 14th in the league?

        1. So you actually believe that a footballing nation of 60m people is incapable of producing players at the same or greater level than the current Milan players.

Inter started with 4 Italians as well 2 of which were our former players.

  37. Fofana and Emerson are just garbage and they proved that today. Amateurs even thought they were a bad move. Its like Milan leadership are allergic to success.

  38. Tomori was a major flop in this game as he doesn’t try to help Emerson on the right the way Pavlovic does on the left. The first goal tomori let his man beat him cos he’s marking was poor.
I agree both the RB and LB were trash but goal keep happening from the right flank even when Emerson was up field there was no proper cover for him from tomori. I think that is not his best position and he doesn’t know what to do most times. He did the same in all the 3 matches he played in that position. I think Gabbia should be given that position next game cos that’s his position.

RLC should never play 10 he doesn’t help during the defence phase and he’s not creative either, so for me he is useless.

For Fosenca his subs came late, other than that I think he did well for benching leao and Theo. The game play was better the squad played as a team, defence and attacking together as should be. That also make leao more productive as he sees the team can do something even without him in the field and made him fight for his position.

  39. Anyone can explain why Fonseca still put RLC as starter???

No offense cause Krunic can do a lot better than RLC. Heck, i bet Benna, Adli, and Pobega can do much better than RLC. But the management sent Adli and Pobega away and wants to sell Benna. Doesn’t makes any sense at all.

  40. If nobody is gonna say it, I am… RLC does NOT belong in the starting XI… No way he is more effective than Bennacer or even Musah who adds at least something… And whoever thought Emerson Royal was worth 20 million needs to be fired ASAP…

    1. RLC was probably one of our better players.

He actually carries the ball and wins free kicks.

I really don’t understand all the hate he gets.

      1. Guy can’t pass through ball, or just can’t pass. His dribbling is even worse. 0 creativity. Am role requires more than just run, push, kick others.

  41. Why are players like Terracciano and Emerson doing in a team like AC Milan? And the scariest part is that the idiotic coach plays them and even starts them. RLC has been useless for several games but is still starting. Chuk has been a disgrace, but to implement the coach’s petty revenge on our two best players Theo and Rafa, he had to put Puli on the left therefore Chuk had to play, and hey, let’s just trust Terracciano instead of Theo! Great! Even an off-form Theo is ten times better than Terracciano.

So some misguided people scapegoat Theo and Rafa and apparently the idiotic coach buys into it and sits them. And then needs to call it quits and bring they in; they immediately combine to score.

I said it here several times: sitting them was idiotic. And now Fonseca has alienated them. Next he’ll lose the rest of the locker room.

No wonder Theo and Rafa are upset and unmotivated. This coach and this management don’t deserve fine players like Theo and Rafa.

Meanwhile people call Theo and Rafa “lazy.”

I told you so, our offense doesn’t do well without them.

The last time Milan had only 2 points in the first 3 games was in the 1938-1939 season. Let that sink in.

  42. As a rule, I am emphatically opposed to any kind of reckless, untimely ‘crazy’ attitude, but the fact is that in the present case I would give just one more bloody opportunity for the coach to reverse this fvckin’ mess. The beginning of this season is bordering the unacceptable. He’s not the only responsible, of course, but… Well, you catch the drift.

  43. “The last time Milan had only 2 points in the first 3 games was in the 1938-1939 season. Let that sink in.”

That’s it, this sums up everything. As I have stated: it’s a situation nearing completely unacceptable.

  44. Pointless to criticize individual players. Our midfield is horrible. Noone that can create anything. Transfers have been horrible these 2 seasons. Except puli the rest are just not good enough, discount store material. Ibra, furlani and company are to blame. 0 idea how to build a team. We should forget about champions leauge next year. Mid table here we come.

  45. Wasted 15m euro for emerson . Should use that money to buy LB and use kalulu / calabria / jimenez as RB. Poor decision from fonseca & management for choosing emerson

  46. Fortunately, there is time to regroup during the international break.

Unfortunately, Liverpool and Inter are already waiting for us after Venezia. Boy oh boy.

  47. I have a feeling that this management really screwed up this summer.
Coach, Emerson and Fofana are not an improvement.
They need to bring back Maldini at least he was putting the team on the right track.

    1. They won’t bring back Maldini, he also wasted a lot of money. We need a proven director of football, not Moncada. I don’t think Moncada will survive this. Furlani gets deals closed so I think he’ll be given another year. We’re in an era when clubs are struggling to move on players they don’t want e.g. Osimhen, Sterling and Sancho. That makes getting transfers right even more important. The people complaining about the signing of ‘cheap’ players are idiots. Juve are the only Serie A club that can spend €40-50 million on players because of their stadium. Things are going to get worse before they get better.

      1. This was my point from Day one, when you select a director to run a club like Milan you dont bring Existing Player, he can be an ambassador or handling a postion, but look at Juve, inter, Napoli, even top clubs, Player handles the locker room or managing player issues but when comes to Director you need experience and strong personality.

Ibra needs at least 3 to 4 years to be an elite Director as Player he strong but management level he requires time and guidance.

  48. Fonseca has 30 days to save his job. A heavy defeat in the derby and it’s over. I don’t really blame him, he seems out of his depth and has been given a terrible squad. €200 million on this!?!? Musah, Chukwueze and Emerson are a colossal waste of money. Pioli is still under contract and would do a better job with this squad. Sarri would take too long to get his ideas across. Xavi would be an interesting choice.

    1. Agree pretty much with all of this. Maldini wasn’t experience enough either – i.e. wanting to bring in Pirlo and bring back SES for some reason… Missing out on Motta was a huge mistake imo. I was willing to give Fonseca a chance but this is like watching Inzaghi or something.

  49. Fonseca already lost the lockeroom. This lesson he tried to teach Leao and Theo, failed the moment he had to put them to play and they equalized. Now the rest will gradually turn against him if they didn’t already.

For the recruitment part, nothing new here just a sequel to last summer. And as usual sequels suck even more.

Weak ownership, weak management, weak coach, weak team.

  50. Try to get Klopp when he is available. We already missed Motta, De Zebri. A great coach can change the fortune. Fonseca is even worse than Pioli.

  51. This is why when i sign any players in FM, i look up their “work rate” and “determination” Attributes. You have to be a really good attackers to get a pass in this area from me.
Whoever that responsible for Milan scouting department has to assess these two attributes before making any signing.

  52. I supported his move to bench Leao & Theo and I think it worked because they both played better then previous games, especially Theo. Are they angry ? Good , this team needs fire in it’s belly for every match.

The Problem is that Fonseca is trying to make the team play an attacking & possession based game when the conditions are not right to do so and this is a critical mistake. When things are this bad you start from the basics , defense. We get 2 goals a game this has to be addressed first , steady the ship , play with counters until we get some clean sheets and wins . Then start elaborating the play , for now it has to be kept simple .

They should have brought in an Italian coach because this team can’t defend as a team and Italians fix that best, and everything starts from there.

Fonseca should be fired , the sooner the better, as Inter , Juve, Roma and Napoli will probably take the first four slots and we can only play for fifth.

  53. A scout who gets any team to actually buy Terreciano & Emerson is insanely incompetent and needs to go. No excuses. 20M€ wasted and season ruined. Thanks and now GTFO!

    1. I don’t think there was one single fan who wanted Emerson. It can’t be just Fonseca who wanted him , if he even wanted him at all?

Problem is we are stuck with him and have given Kalulu to Juve and Saelemaekers to Roma(even though it seems Tammy will be a good acquisition),Those players could help us change to different formations such as a 3-4-2-1 to shore up the defence as this has to be number one priority.

      1. He is like the new Origi but he wasn’t free. He isn’t better than Origi but Milan paid 15M for him. Maybe Origi would play better at RB than Emerson, not sure.

      2. And now that we’re paying (way too) good money for him, he’ll be our Ballo-Tourette 2.0 – but even more expensive. Nice. Never getting rid of him, FFS.

  54. Whoever said yes to Fonseca and said yes to Emerson needs to be fired yesterday. What a s**t transfer window, on pair with banter years. They spent a bunch of money on a bunch of trash.

    1. Ibra, just leave yourself. That guy doesn’t have a single point of self reflection, he will have to be kicked out one day. That is why we are signing bad players, Milan should have a person like Giuntoli that makes the last decision and is responsible for it, but also has the knowledge and experience.

      1. It’s not just ibra. Furlani, moncada and all the other shumcks under cardinale should be banned from football. Besides pulisic all the other transfers have been horrible. Out now. Im suprised cardinale hasn’t fired them yet since they flushed his money down to the toilet.

  55. You needed to see how awful Emerson was at Tottenham. He was terribly bad. At some point I doubted if he was a Brazilian footballer. And Milan still insisted on signing him. What shame on the coach and management

  56. émerson should get sold in the winter look i know we got to support him but tjhe fact is that he has had 2 horrible games i will be confused and suprised if fonseca still is at this job at christmas
