PM: Conte watched on as Milan secured victory against Empoli – the details

By Ben Dixon -

AC Milan are expected to make several big decisions in the upcoming summer, and their biggest will be regarding the future of Stefano Pioli. With this in mind, a report has suggested that one of the Rossoneri’s primary targets for the position, if Pioli leaves, watched their recent match against Empoli.

The conundrum regarding Pioli and his future has now reached a stalemate after weeks, if not months, of speculation regarding his immediate future. However, the situation now is clearer – a decision has been postponed until the end of the season to allow the team to focus on the objectives left for the campaign with no distractions.

As PianetaMilan have reported, though, discussions with potential candidates may be continuing, given Antonio Conte was in attendance for Sunday’s fixture. The 54-year-old attended a meal and then the fixture in the company of rapper and Milan fan Fedez.

Reports have suggested previously that the club have held talks with Conte as recently as last month, and he has been at the forefront of candidates for some time, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic a big fan of his. However, nothing will be decided until the end of the season, with the Rossoneri not ruling out Pioli continuing his tenure next season.

    1. The management cares only whether players increase in value with a specific coach and whether we have a better chance of winning.
I don’t like Conte as a choice but I can understand that from our management point of view he might seem like the right option .

  1. I have no problem with Conte taking over. I just hope he can get the best out of Leao. Against Empoli we looked dull in attack, if it’s any indication of how we look without our 10. Okafor was decent but doesn’t command nearly the kind of coverage or fear that Leao gets from defenders.
