PM: Maldini alerted to €15-20m deal for most prolific striker in Europe so far this season

AC Milan are interested in signing FC Basel striker Arthur Mendonça Cabral having scouted him for the last few months, a report claims.

According to PianetaMilan, the Milan management are lining up at least two strikers for next summer given the doubts that Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud have surrounding their fitness and the lack of guarantees offered by loanee Pietro Pellegri, with the likes of Lorenzo Lucca of Pisa and Torino’s Andrea Belotti linked.

The report adds that directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have begun to follow Arthur Mendonça Cabral in a concrete way, having scouted him for the last few months. The 23-year-old striker moved from Palmeiras in Brazil to Basel last year and could be allowed to leave for €15-20m next summer.

Cabral would be perfect purchase when looking at Elliott Management’s vision as he is young, has potential to grow and is not very expensive in terms of transfer fee but also in terms of salary.

He is currently the best striker in Europe for the 2021-22 season as he has scored 21 goals in 19 games across all competitions so far this season. Of these, 11 came in the league, 8 in the Conference League qualifiers and 2 in the groups.
