PM: Maldini eyeing €15m striker as part of potential double raid on Napoli

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan director Paolo Maldini is looking at the potential of a double swoop to land two Napoli players on expiring contracts, a report claims.

According to PianetaMilan, Milan will try to seize any opportunities that arise in January such as loan deals or even cut-price deals for players with contracts expiring in June 2021, and this is why Arkadiusz Milik and Nikola Maksimovic are back on the club’s radar.

Both do not seem in any way willing to renew their current deals and while president De Laurentiis is known to be a tough negotiator, the risk of losing the two players on a free transfer in June could force him to consider offers next month.

The signing of Milik would allow Milan to solve the problem of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s deputy as the Pole would have the opportunity to play continuously. Napoli continues to ask for €15million, but there will hardly be anyone willing to offer this amount.

Maksimovic meanwhile knows the league well and could be a more than reliable alternative to Romagnoli and Kjaer. Fali Ramadani is his agent, and he has a good relationship with Maldini and Massara.
