PM: Milan schedule meeting with Chelsea in hopes of securing discount on defender

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are hoping to keep Fikayo Tomori beyond the end of the season but a top four finish will be fundamental, according to a report.

Tomori is proving to be one player that the Milan fan base agree on as being a reliable and impressive recruit, with many calling for him to remain permanently in the starting XI in place of captain Alessio Romagnoli, as happened in Sunday’s win over Roma.

Tomori is at Milan on loan from Chelsea, but the Rossoneri have an option to buy in their favour set at €28m. This is a substantial figure, but as PianetaMilan writes the player is proving to be worth it, and therefore the will of the management is to continue with the defender.

A meeting with Chelsea has already been set for the end of the season and the goal is to lower the price of the option, but the feeling is that it will be far from easy to convince Chelsea as they believe in Tomori.

The situation is delicate, but Milan’s intention is to keep him, so qualification for the Champions League becomes fundamental . The proceeds from the competition could be decisive for the redemption of Tomori, even if some sales to make cash are not excluded.
