PM: Pioli looking to end poor managerial record against Garcia in Napoli vs. Milan

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli will have a personal reason for wanting to secure victory against Napoli in Serie A tonight as his record against Rudi Garcia does not make for great reading.

As has been reported by Pianeta Milan, Pioli has historically struggled on the few occasions that he has come up against the current Napoli boss.

In the four games where they have been on opposite benches, Garcia has won three of them and one was a draw.

The first time they faced off was in 2013 with Garcia at AS Roma and Pioli at Bologna, which ended 5-0 to Roma. The next three matches were when Pioli was the Lazio boss, meaning they were huge games.

The first was a 2-2 draw in 2015, and then Garcia won the next two by scorelines of 2-1 and 2-0. Whilst these games may have been a long time ago and with different teams, it is a record that Pioli will want to address.

  1. Poli will face a grim week of 3 losses against top teams. Wake up Poli! 433 just doesn’t work in MILAN. With the array of attacking midfielders in your team, push up one to partner Giroud as twin attack. Giroud is old…he needs a partner in crime
