PM: ‘Watching with great interest’ – Fonseca observing Liberali and Jimenez for first team

There are several players among AC Milan’s youth ranks that could have a future in the first team, and Paulo Fonseca took note of two specifically during the Futuro’s 3-0 win against Lecco.

Saturday’s result was the perfect next step for Milan’s Futuro, winning their first competitive fixture at the first time of asking, and it is another positive step forward, and the steps forward will not stop there.

The reason why the Futuro squad exists is to allow young talent to make natural progress with the protection of Milanello, rather than young stars departing and not being in a similar environment.

Of course, this benefits the Rossoneri too, as it allows players to move between squads when the opportunity to do so arises, and this could be the case for several members of the squad, as we already know. However, there are two players who received higher levels of notice during the win against Lecco.

As PianetaMilan reports, Alex Jimenez and Mattia Liberali were fantastic, and both found their names on the scoresheet in the monumental game, and Fonseca watched on with great interest. Of course, both have already provided intrigue when tested among the senior ranks, but they are pillars of the Futuro squad.

It remains to be seen how Fonseca plans to use them this season, or better yet, if he plans to use them. However, he is taking notice, and these are positive signs.
