CM: Positive updates arrive about Leao and Pulisic with Pisa targeted – their conditions

Thanks to a specific recovery plan, AC Milan hope to have their star duo back for the game against Pisa next weekend, reports suggest.

This season, Massimiliano Allegri and Milan have been massively unlucky with injuries. Unfortunately, two players have suffered more than others. Of course, that duo in question has been Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic.

Whilst they have had to overcome their own issues, they have also struggled to play together. When one returns, the other is out and vice versa. As a result, they have not be able to combine as the Rossoneri had hoped.

Pisa in focus

Against Bologna, Allegri’s side cruised to victory, without either of their stars having an impact on the game. In fact, Pulisic was not even in the squad, whilst Leao was left on the bench.

However, the pair may be heading back towards the squad, especially with no game taking place this weekend. In fact, alongside Santiago Gimenez and Alexis Saelemaekers, they have been at Milanello during scheduled ‘off-days’.

As Calciomercato.com reports, Leao will be there for definite against Pisa, given he is in a much better position than his American counterpart. However, he should not be alone.

Thanks to a specific recovery plan, developed by Allegri and his staff, Pulisic is pushing to return and he should be back for Pisa. He may be near-optimal or even in optimal condition, but it seems increasingly likely that he will be there.

  1. Rest them against PISA especially since there’s a game against COMO right afterwards. Maybe try starting Fulkrug and Nkunku together – a combination that actually makes sense.

    1. Yea, that would be cool to see. Keep Leao and Puli on the bench but it is dangerous to have them on the bench and then need them in the 70th minute cuz then they have to work much harder and can’t grow into the game, risking aggravating the injury. So it is risky but I’d LIKE to think that Nkunku and Fullkrug can handle Pisa.

    2. You know we already drew with Pisa this season with Pulisic out. If he’s able to play he should play. Taking bottom table teams lightly has been our problem.

  2. Fulktrug Nkunku starting against pisa with Leao Pulisic coming for the last 20min so they can be fresh against como who will always be a harder nut to crack

    1. Like that, Fulkrug + Nkunku sounds great. In fact I think Leao should play 2nd ATT, position of Pulisic and Nkunku, and not no.1

  3. Pulisic and Leao have worked beautifully together before, but w Leao in his natural position. And against Liverpool for example, Pulisic can send Leao off to score as well as anyone. If everyone got healthy we would have an offensive arsenal at our disposal that could take a number of forms. It feels like Rabiot is just getting started. Fulktrug and Nkunku are flashing value. RLC isn’t a slouch.

    1. Even despite his broken toe he works more than Leao and fights for every single ball. Plus is more dangerous than RLC (even if the Englishman got lucky last week).
