AC Milan have posted a video showing what Mike Maignan said in the huddle just before the derby win against Inter.
Maignan made a big save in the first half to deny Mhkitaryan who had burst through on goal, just before Milan scored the only goal of the game through Estupinan. The Frenchman racked up his second clean sheet in two games against Inter this season.
The captain showed his leadership skills too, as he often does before big games. Milan’s official social media channels published Maignan’s speech to the team in a huddle near the centre circle before kick-off.
Rather than firing them up too much, he told his team-mates: “Together, boys, together. No emotions. Stay tight. Cold-blooded. Stay in the game. On the field, we knew what to do. Let’s go, together!”

Mike Maignan has shown true leadership by committing his future to AC Milan through a contract extension. At a time when loyalty is rare in modern football, his decision reflects dedication to the club, its fans, and the long-term project.
This contrasts with Gianluigi Donnarumma, who left Milan at a similar stage of his career to join Paris Saint-Germain, subsequently Man City despite being developed by the club from a young age. Maignan’s commitment therefore highlights not only his professionalism but also his loyalty to Milan. ⚽
WTF are you talking about? Mike is 30, Donnarumma was 22 when he left, and Mike was not developed at Milan.
