GdS: Another Premier League club are rivaling Milan for De Ketelaere

By Euan Burns -

Southampton have emerged as another possible destination in the Premier League for Milan target Charles De Ketelaere, a report claims.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Milan News) today, the suitors for De Ketelaere are continuing to multiply.

Milan have been very clear that they do not want to get dragged into a bidding war for their targets which will see their transfer fees be artificially inflated.

That could possibly happen with De Ketelaere because both Leeds United and Southampton have made big-money offers for the Belgian youngster. Southampton have also offered him a very competitive salary.

The Rossoneri have so far only offered €20 million and some bonuses for the player that Club Brugge would like to receive €30-35 million for.

Milan are ready to increase their offer and the club feel that he is certainly worth the investment that it will take to bring him in and he would like to come to Milan.

  1. Close the deal fast. Give brugge that jungdal & roback + cash before more EPL club come for start bidding war

    1. I mean, it’s in Brugge’s interest for a bidding war so they’ll happily wait.

And any of the English teams can pay their requested sum so no harm in it for them to hold out.

    1. Currently I’m more calm then I was when Botman was of interest of Newcastle because De Ketelaere has come through all their ranks so the will of the player will be a massive and I mean massive equation in this transfer, and De Ketelaere wants UCL football so AS LONG AS WE ARE QUICK AND MAKE A SECOND OFFER TODAY OR TOMORROW then everything should be ok

    1. Maybe the top clubs see his compatriot lukaku’s flop in premier league. So they don’t really believe in belgian league. But do you know belgium ranks second in the world? Should have some connection to the league as well, like italy, england, germany, france, spain, not to mention brazil and argentina.

    2. Well, it just means he’s not seen as world class level and the top teams have full enough squads anyway. Like it or not, Leicester, Leeds and the midtable English clubs are similar in spending power to Milan now

    3. Nah I think this kid is extremely talented as shown in the UCL but a lot of clubs don’t want to gamble on someone who people may think is just doing well in the Belgian league, I trust M&M because the last time we went for an expensive transfer like this was Tomori and that turned out to be an exceptional signing

  2. Doesnt it say a lot that only Leeds and Southampton are interested for 1 of the biggest talents at the moment what people say? For me he’s not really special, he’s not damn fast or something. Better buy Ziyech and Bourigead, great French player

    1. Guess where Barcelona and Manchester city want to/ Shopped for the season.. yep you got it Leeds United. So it’s a safe bet for us to get the lad

  3. Game over. If I were a betting man I’d say our only other significant incoming player will be 29 y/o Ziyech, who will play at AMC or RW as the situation demands it. Messies looks like he’s coming back and there are Adli and Diaz for AMC. Origi is in and on the left there are Leao and Rebic. That’s it. That’s the attacking group. Maybe one more signing at CB, but it will be a cheap signing.
