Repubblica: ‘Profile with great experience’ – how Paratici ticks Milan’s boxes

With AC Milan restructuring the management once again, the Rossoneri are looking for a new sporting director after parting with Antonio D’Ottavio.

Since RedBird took control of Milan, there have been many changes at the top of the club, as well as on the pitch, with the most recent occasion of this being D’Ottavio’s sacking following reported issues with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Swede’s position is as high as you can get – without being the owner – so perhaps his decisions, or way of operating, did not work with the former sporting director. Alternatively, it could have just been the club wanting to go a different direction.

Regardless of why things changed, things have, and there have been several suggestions about who could replace D’Ottavio, with an internal promotion initially being the suggested idea. However, it seems this has changed

As has been reported in recent days, Fabio Paratici is a growing idea from the management, and he presents an intriguing possibility, with him looking to return to football after his recent suspension. Today, Calciomercato.com, citing Repubblica, has added to the reports, stating that the club are ‘hypothesising’ about hiring a ‘profile with great experience’, which Paratici has in bags.

In an ideal world, the new sporting director would work alongside all of the management, including the ‘increasingly involved’ Jovan Kirovski, and with Paratici’s successes in Italian football, it could be a step in the right direction, especially after claims that Milan need to ‘Italianise’.

    1. Sorry mate, Paolo is in the past where it belongs, respectfully.

Big clubs make big decissions. Redbird are taking a holistic approach and if you see the numbers overall we are one of the healthiest clubs financially in Europe and growing at the same time.

Good times are ahead of us, we will become top 4 in the world again.

      1. Can’t believe you said ‘mate’ unironically😂.

Anyways, the diffrence between Maldini’s Milan and current Milan is clear, 1st to 8th. You can say Fonseca this or players that but you can’t deny the fact that we are 8th. Maldini had a vision of another champions league trophy, this current management only want to sell the club while saving money.

        1. Maldini’s Milan finished 5th in his last year, whats your excuse for that?

          All blame to Pioli?

No fault for letting Kessie Romagnoli Dollarumma and Cahalonghu to go for free just because his name is Maldini?

Yeah only allowed to blame evil new owners, everything Maldini did is perfect 10/10

          1. Maldini’s Milan finished 4th. Y’all like cheating rubentus more than your own club. We also finished as a UCL semi finalist, very convenient to leave that out too because it doesn’t jive with the hate. We’re not making a UCL semi anytime soon. And we’re currently in 8th, even 4th or 5th is a dream right now

          2. I dont know why some people did not appreciate what Maldini did as Director. He brought us Scudetto and semifinal .

He did strategic mercato, bought Maignan, Theo, Tonali, Leao, Giroud, CDK, Kalulu, etc.

Not all of his transfer worked well, like CDK (but we can see how good he is right now, I can understand why Maldini bought this guy, but I dont know why it didnt work well for us), or like Origi (he was good as supersub when he played for Liverpool).

Yeah no body is perfect and not all transfer can work as well. He had constraint on salary cap as well. But as a fan I could see the project and felt there is a future.

Right now, I can’t see the project, It looks like we just buy available players for around 20 mill or less, and hoping to get a top 4 and keep our financial to be healthy.

          3. You can’t loose the MVP of the Euros for free (Dollaruma) and expect to keep your job as a sporting director. With all the love to Maldini. It’s a shame because he’s one of the few people we all can agree has his heart and ambitions in the right place.

          4. Boulden you must be a great idiot. Maldini was NOT repeat NOT allowed to discuss any pay rise with the players you mention. Only regrets are Calha and Kessie coz dollarumma was brilliantly replaced by Maignan.
WOULD CHOOSE MALDINI ANY TIME INSTEAD OF IBRA THE ARROGANT FOOL.

        1. Whatever that might be. I think being a “yes man” is what really matters here.
Fact is Maldini did a far better job with constrained finances and having to deal with Gazzidis in regard of salaries.
Anyways Maldini isn’t coming back under this ownership.

      1. In some weird way, I’m happy he did what he did and went out on a high. That way the standard he set (just like as a player) is so hard it’s super duper difficult to achieve. I doubt we’re getting a Scudetto or a UCL semi anytime soon

    1. Well, depends how much his contract is worth tbh.
We need director that knows how to operate the Italian market as well. Since we lack Italians
