AC Milan have been forced to look towards other targets as Renato Sanches seems set to join Paris Saint-Germain, a journalist has claimed.
According to Goal France reporter Marc Mechenoua, there is ‘confidence’ within the PSG ranks that they will eventually secure the signing of Sanches, as the player ‘wants to come’ while discussions continue over the terms of the deal.
Not only that, but he adds that Milan are ‘already working on another midfield profile’ because they are resigned to losing the race for the Portugal international, though no player is named by Mechenoua.
If he is correct, then Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara clearly had a back-up target in mind and have shifted their focus accordingly. The end of the Renato Sanches soap opera could well be very close, and now we will see who the directors believe is the right man to come in and replace Franck Kessie.
