PSG boss Enrique believes Milan can still qualify: “It is the group of death”

By Isak Möller -

PSG came away with all three points from the clash against AC Milan yesterday and Luis Enrique was happy with his team’s performance. After the game, he also shared his thoughts on the group standings.

Milan are currently last with just two points and zero goals scored, while PSG are at the top with six points. Borussia Dortmund and Newcastle, meanwhile, are both in the middle with four points each. In short, the group is still wide open.

Speaking at the press conference after the game, as cited by our colleagues at SempreMilan.it, Enrique was asked about the group standings. He stated that the race is wide open as ‘everyone can still qualify’.

“I haven’t forgotten the defeat against Newcastle. It is the group of death. Everyone can still qualify. Milan? Why not? I think that until the last round, all four teams will have a chance to qualify. In Milano, we will try to be better than them, even if it’s difficult away,” he stated.

Milan will take on PSG in the next round, but this time at San Siro, and will be looking to at least score their first goal in the competition this season. Now, however, they will have to shift focus to the league and Napoli away on Sunday.
