Ahead of the big derby clash between AC Milan and Inter, Christian Pulisic spoke to the media and shared his thoughts on the importance of winning, his recent form, and the build-up.
The derby has been talked about for weeks, really, as Milan and Inter have been second and first in the standings for a long time now. It’s perhaps not the Scudetto battle it could have been, given the gap between the two, but it’s still a great one.
Speaking to DAZN just a few minutes ago, as transcribed by MilanNews, Pulisic shared his thoughts on the task at hand. He said that first and foremost, the Rossoneri must focus on winning the game before thinking about the impact or anything else.
What did you do this week?
“I didn’t go out, but I never go out anyway (laughs)”.
How are you coping with this goal drought?
“I’m not in my best moment, but today is a great opportunity to change everything. I’m ready.”
Do you still believe in the Scudetto?
“Today, we want to focus solely on this match. We want to close the gap, but first and foremost, we want to win today. Then we will see where we are at the end.”
It remains to be seen if Pulisic will be able to break his goal drought, having not scored in 2026. The interesting thing is that every time he has scored against Inter, Milan have won, most recently in the reverse fixture last year.
