Another report has claimed that AC Milan and Christian Pulisic are closing in on agreeing a contract extension that could be signed very soon.
Pulisic joined Milan in the 2023 summer transfer window and signed an initial four-year deal with the club. Since joining he has been the most consistent player in the team, with 50 goal contributions (30 goals, 20 assists) in 88 games across all competitions.
According to ESPN sources, Pulisic is ‘in talks with AC Milan over a new contract’ and ‘is keen to commit himself to a longer stay at Milan’, because he feels like he is very much a ‘key member of the squad’.
The USMNT star got his 15th goal of the campaign in Milan’s 2-1 win over Como on Saturday, levelling the game to then set the stage for Tijjani Reijnders’ winning goal, the other star who recently committed his future with a renewal.
After the comeback win over Como at the weekend, Pulisic was asked about whether Milan are the club of his life. His response made it clear: “Yes, 100%. This club gives me so much confidence and it’s a pleasure to be here every day. I want to stay here.”
Teams like Liverpool have been linked with a move for the former Dortmund and Chelsea man, though it appears he is very much happy in red and black.
He’d have 5 more assists this year if the team could have some semblance of being able to finish….
True. It’s still the right club for him to sign with long term. And I’m pleased to see that he apparently knows it.
This is the work ethic and contributions that warrant 5-6mil/year at Milan. Him and Reijnders. I can’t believe the Dutchman renewed at only 3.5mil.
I think if he show’s consistency next year (like CP just did this year) they will bump him up again next year. If that’s what they are indeed doing I like this strategy. It rewards consistency and hopefully prevents overpaying one year wonders.
Our best finisher in the box and it isn’t close.
Why Conceicao still has him tracking back so much is beyond me. He also often sees Walker or Musah overlap ahead of him, which cuts off his runs. He’d have 10 more goals this season if he stayed within 30 yards of goal at all times and the team found him in the box more.
