While he might not have had his best performance against Feyenoord, Christian Pulisic is close to strengthening his bond with AC Milan.

According to Calciomercato.com, Pulisic will ‘swear love to Milan’. The American and the Rossoneri directors have in fact practically found an agreement for the renewal of his contract, in a much simpler negotiation than those involving the other two leaders, Mike Maignan and Theo Hernandez.

The new agreement will lead the former Chelsea man will see him extend his contractual deadline until 2029, with a net salary of €5m net per year. That is in line with the pay of the highest earners in the squad like Rafael Leao, who gets €7m net but including potential bonuses.

Since Pulisic arrived in Milan in the summer of 2023, Pulisic has always made the difference, on and off the pitch. His purchase for €22m from Chelsea is the best signing that Geoffrey Moncada, Giorgio Furlani and the management have made.

In recent months, the directors have worked hard to agree an extension which will reward the USMNT captain for his excellent performances, and he will get a pay rise from €4m.

No Premier League move beckons therefore for Pulisic, with Liverpool having shown interest amid their own battle to get Mo Salah – also on an expiring deal – to stay beyond the end of the season.

  1. Fyi, Pulisic does not usually capitan the US national team when everyone is fit. He’s been the 2nd capitan behind Tyler Adams for the past few years.

We don’t know how Pochettino will handle the capitancy going forward though!

  2. Going to Liverpool would be a horrible choice. No one can replace Salah, and the fans would quickly turn on any American who was not as good as Salah. He’s happy, he’s being used, he’s respected, and he’s smart to stay. He’s in a high-quality league. Who cares if it’s not the Prem? They eat their own young. Smart to stay in a high-quality league where you are happy and being used. And he’s loyal to the brand.

    1. Actually, when you look at it since the new manager has arrived he’s playing but not being used to the best of his abilities. Passing charts show Milan being heavily left sided.
