Pulisic offers thoughts on his return to St. James’ Park and season so far with Milan

By Ben Dixon -

Ahead of AC Milan’s clash against Newcastle United, Christian Pulisic spoke about his return to St. James’ Park, and life so far during his first season with Milan.

Whilst he played in England for four seasons, this will be only the second time he has faced Newcastle United at St James’ Park – his only appearance at the stadium came in the 2022-23 season, where Chelsea lost 1-0. However, he will look to even the scores when AC Milan plays the Magpies on Wednesday night.

Milan has been boosted with the news of Rafael Leao’s return, which means that the American is due to start from the right-hand side, alongside the Portuguese man and Olivier Giroud.

Though, to revisit the trend about Pulisic and his former clubs, he will be hoping that another of his former sides, Borussia Dortmund, defeats Paris Saint-Germain at Signal Iduna Park.

Pulisic, alongside Stefano Pioli, was asked questions at St James’ Park and his comments were relayed by TheMag.

What is playing at St James’ Park like?

“I played there, it will be a hot atmosphere. It’s an important game for us and for them, we have to be ready and looking forward to such a game.”

How are you feeling ahead of the clash?

“I think we are well prepared and I think we need to give everything to have a chance to win the game and to come out of the group.”

Thoughts on Newcastle United?

“Newcastle United are a very intense team. They will put in a lot of hard work, a lot of tackles, a lot of energy and we need to be ready for this.”

What does Milan need on Wednesday night?

“[We need to] Have a good game if we want to win. For us, all we can focus on is winning the game. We can only control this and after the game, we will see how we stand. [We will] Hopefully do our part and see what happens.”

Finally, how are you feeling?

“I’m feeling great. It has been a good season so far, some ups and downs, but I’m enjoying it a lot and feeling fit and ready to go.”
