Pulisic claims he felt Milan’s trust ‘from the start’ and sets Scudetto aim for 2024-25

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan winger Christian Pulisic has spoken about how he has found his first season at the club, revealing that he felt trust right from the first day.

Pulisic is a very strong candidate not just for the best newcomer at Milan but also the player of the season in general after an outstanding debut campaign in Serie A.

The American finished his season with 12 goals and 8 assists (15 goals, 11 assists in all competitions), proving that Milan made the right decision to sign him for €20m in the summer.

Indeed, it was a bargain and Pulisic is expected to play a key role next season as well under the new coach, which currently seems likely to be Paulo Fonseca.

Pulisic was a guest on the CBS Sports Golazo panel for the Champions League final last night as he announced a new docuseries that will follow the USMNT at the Copa America. He also spoke about his time with Milan so far.

“I think before this there were two difficult seasons for me. Finally I was given an opportunity and I felt Milan’s trust from the start. I couldn’t wait to start and play in a club so historic. It’s nice to feel like myself again and show people that I can still do well,” he said.

Are you aiming for the title next season?

“Yes, absolutely. I think this is the objective. Obviously what has just ended was a good season for me from a personal point of view, it’s a good feeling, but it’s not the most important thing for me.

“I think I’m never really satisfied. Our team hopes to have a little more consistency next season real possibility because we have some very strong players.”

“I think it was a difficult couple seasons for me before this. And I was finally given an opportunity, and I felt the trust right from the start at Milan. And I was just really excited to hit the ground running and play for such a historic club. And it’s nice to, yeah, feel like myself again and show people, that, you know, I can still play a bit [smiling].”
