Pulisic to miss AC Milan’s crucial game against Juventus – Conceicao’s comments

Ahead of AC Milan’s game against Juventus, there have been reports about Christian Pulisic’s condition, and Sergio Conceicao offered an update today.

Games against Juventus are always crucial, and it could be argued that this rendition of the clash is up there with the biggest in recent history. Milan’s start under Conceicao has been positive, and he must keep the momentum up, and a positive result against the Bianconeri would be a huge boost.

However, the Portuguese is still fighting against the condition of some players in the squad, meaning he is, once again, likely to enter a big fixture short-handed. Reports from Sky (via Milan News) have stated that Pulisic trained alone at Milanello today.

For this reason, a call-up for the game in Turin is ‘complicated’, which is the last thing that the new head coach would have wanted.

Later, in his pre-match press conference, Conceicao stated that he would be absent, ending any rumours.

“Pulisic is out, we don’t want to risk it, it’s nothing major but we don’t want to risk it. If he plays twenty minutes he risks making the situation worse and I don’t want that.”

  1. A number of the players are run down and need a rest. Pulisic covered 12k in his last game. Same for TJ and probably Fofana. A draw would be a moral victory against juve.

    1. Yeah, given how Juventus defends and both teams’ issues scoring, this match will either be a 0-0, 1-1 or 0-1 for Juventus. Not good.

  2. Would have loved to see him on the bench, but, better not to take a risk. We still have Leao, Theo, Jimenez, Abraham, Omoregbe. Fofana and Reijnders have to rise up to the occasion. Musah will add bite to the middle and attack. Emerson has to be at his best, or, we would be in trouble. If Abraham, and the others, can take their chances, we really don’t have anything to worry about.

  3. I’d be shocked if this isn’t a 0-0 or 1-1 draw given how Juventus play. I’d take that outcome given this team’s poor record when Pulisic is not playing.

  4. We used to load manage Puli last year (take him out at the 70th minute and tested him for the next game). That’s how we managed to have him at his top shape all the time. He’s not able to do the 90mins effectively. This is the second time now he’s been injured this year. He’s been clocking too many minutes. Manage his game time better
