There is some bad news for Massimiliano Allegri and AC Milan on the day of their match against Atalanta concerning Christian Pulisic.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Pulisic is not at his best and will not play tonight against Atalanta as he feels glute discomfort. This means that Rafael Leao will resume his role in the attacking duo and play alongside Santiago Gimenez.

These are two players considered by Allegri to be centre-forwards and who, for various reasons, are experiencing one of the most difficult moments of their careers.
Just like last team
Allegri had chosen to start with Pulisic and Gimenez during the week, hoping both are hungry for redemption. The American hasn’t scored since the end of December 2025 and is in serious difficulty.
Gimenez, on the other hand, has returned from a right ankle injury but has yet to find his rhythm, and above all a goal. This season, he hasn’t celebrated once in the league, and in fact he has gone over a year since scoring in Serie A.
Pulisic’s injury has changed everything and brought together a strange pairing. Allegri has always considered Leao and Gimenez as strikers, so they have almost never played together.
From minute one, in the league, they have only appeared twice: in the very strange 2-2 draw against Pisa and, curiously, in the first game against Atalanta. That night, Milan scored early through Samuele Ricci and conceded an equaliser from Ademola Lookman.

Allegri considers Leao a striker after watching all these games? When will he learn? I’ve always said that Allegri’s biggest fault is how stubborn and inflexible he is. Just hit that round peg harder, eventually it will fit into the square hole. Jeeze.
Huge Pulisic fan but my goodness, he gets injured pouring Campari. Maddening and massively frustrating, I’m sure for him as well as us.
