GdS: Pulisic nearing return whilst Gimenez ruled out – the injury news before Lazio-Milan

Lazio will host AC Milan this week, after they were hosted at San Siro this weekend. However, the Rossoneri may have a new face in the team.

At the weekend, Milan won their eighth game of the season against a Lazio side who have been quite hit and miss so far this season. The Laziali have a split record, and they will hope to get their own back in midweek.

Injury updates

The Coppa Italia is one of the targets for the Rossoneri this season, and if they get past one of the big teams from Serie A, it would be a big help towards doing so, and they could be boosted by a return.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Christian Pulisic is not a guarantee to feature, but he is close to returning to group training. On Monday, he trained by himself, but the report states that he could be among his teammates as early as today, if not tomorrow afternoon.

Whether he features will be dependent on how he feels after the session; if there are no worries, he will feature. Elsewhere, the cup game will be too early for Santiago Gimenez, who is fighting to return. The Mexican is getting there, but he is definitely not ready for this game.

  1. Hope Santi recovers and actually find his form or he is cooked
If no, sell and buy mateta or maybe the Europe top scorer Franko Kovačević People don’t believe but it’s true

    1. I unfortunately think he’s already cooked. Too little too late. I had hopes for the guy but getting his form back will only help his resale value, I think coaches, management and most fans are already done with him.

    2. With all due respect and I mean it in respect but the guy can’t even get into the Croatian national team. Plays in the Slovenian league and is 26 years old and has never scored many goals before this season and basically has been a flop wherever he has gone including an experience in the South Korean league so it would seem like an extraordinary huge gamble if we allowed him to spearhead us. At least Gimenez has proven himself in bigger leagues even if he currently is in a bad slump. Maybe its just me and I did have to look up the player but it does seem like a really bad idea to me but maybe I’m wrong.

    3. I gotta second Martin on this one. Milan keeps getting burned signing the “next big thing” in January. At this point save the money start scouting for a reliable striker to partner with/alternate with Leao. Honestly feel the best bang for Milan’s buck would be to target a backup RWB, the kid from young boys might be promising but he seems raw and it feels like a loan would be the right choice for him.

  2. We need to put serious time into signing a good striker who will be effective for us. We already know how well a player like Giroud works for us here in Serie A so that should be the mold. No more of this signing fancy names who are a rsik if they’ll even fit the system. Ffs, if you need to know how bad it is, remember Terraciano whos on loan over at Cremonese? He has more goals this season from RIGHT CENTER BACK than Santi has…
