It has been a long time since Christian Pulisic played for AC Milan, and even longer since he was able to celebrate a goal.

As Corriere dello Sport report, the meter reads 255 and 109: more specifically 255 days since Pulisic’s last goal, and 109 days since his last appearance for Milan. Everything came to a half from the start of 2026.

Before the turn of the year, the American was carrying Milan with goals, had decided a derby, engineered a comeback against Torino with a fever of 39 and was part of Massimiliano Allegri’s dream front two. Today, however, it’s a different story.

Ruben Amorim is in charge, and the magic of Captain America’s superpowers is no longer visible. Or even worse, he is no longer visible at all. Three call-ups for zero minutes. Not even a chance to right the wrongs at the Allianz Stadium was forthcoming.

The chance to rebound

On Saturday evening against Lazio in Rome, almost a month will have passed since Pulisic’s first group training session. That should be enough time to learn the ropes and get the engine running, with some minutes expected.

He won’t be 100% fit and won’t be able to start, but he has a certain Alphadjo Cisse in his role who is allowing Amorim to sleep soundly. Furthermore, the top spot in the position is and will undoubtedly be Pulisic’s, whom the Portuguese coach has spoken highly of since his first press conference.

In his opinion, the American has the perfect characteristics for his game, being a player capable of being a playmaker and a finisher, while offering a lot off the ball. He is a hybrid that’s perfect for the Rossoneri’s 3-4-2-1 formation. As soon as he’s on the pitch, of course.

  1. To get zero minutes in 3 games is a bad sign for pulisic. I don’t know what’s going on in practice but it can’t be good. Otherwise I can’t explain it.

    1. It’s not that complicated. Puli has been training but hasn’t been quite 100%. Amorim named him in case we needed a result. We got 3 results in 3 matches, so Amorim had the luxury of letting Pulisic continue to rest and prepare for a long season during which we’ll be playing across three competitions.

      1. I don’t recall him saying he wasn’t 100%. Once he started practicing with the team he was out of injury worries. It doesn’t take that many weeks to ramp up. And we are not talking about having him start or get major minutes. He’s getting zero minutes.

  2. Amoram is pscho case and responsible for damaging multiple players of MU…God bless pulisic and be not be another victim of his personal ego

  3. Amorims treatment of Pulisic and Camarda is worrying. He says one thing but does another. Neither of them getting at least 10 minutes vs Venezia and Juventus is weird.

I guess we will really see his intentions with them between this and next sunday when we got Lazio-Benfica-Lecce in a weeks time. Then he -must- rotate more.

    1. Exactly right. This why the players end up hating him, because he’s a liar. He says one thing then does another. If you are just honest with the players they will respect you even if they don’t necessarily like it.
Shocking that Milan hired this guy after the disaster he was at United.

  4. Yeah, hard to explain this one. Is he really off the pace in practice? Or is this another example of pretty much every manager he’s ever had (except Pioli) needing to be convinced that he does something valuable on the pitch. It’s like they don’t believe the film.

With that said, I’m not sure if he’s the best fit in this team anymore. Watching how the game is being refereed in Serie A so far he just going to get manhandled and likely injured. While I think we need to figure out ways to reduce tactical fouls in the game, the last game with Juve they seemed like they weren’t even against the rules. Instead of disincentivizing the tactical foul to keep them from happening (bring on the sin bin!), to speed up the game, they stopped calling them. Puli is going to get chopped down early and often and get frustrated and not play with magic and joy, I think. Cisse is much stronger (and raw and lacking intelligence). He might be a better fit for the new version of Serie A.

  5. Pulisic is too emotional. He reminds me of Leao and Balotelli, though not as extreme as them. Every time he gets touched he gets frustrated and walks, wants a foul, etc. That won’t work with Cisse being the alternative. Cisse is a bulldog that runs no matter what happened the moment before.

    1. This is the dumbest and most dishonest comment on the internet. As if you’ve never watched him play.
He is the opposite of Leao. Always runs for the team. If you watched any of the games you would know that he usually leads the team in distance covered every match.

      1. This guy is unbelievable, his comments are among the worst around here, maybe even the worst. Horrible takes, inaccurate (false) to the core, painted with hate and scorn as if he holds a personal grudge…

  6. Everyone here has a short memory. Pulisic is not 100 fit, and fragile, so Amorim is trying other options while pulisic gets to 100 percent. What no one remembers is Allegri played him early last season and he had a knock and was hobbling and Allegri still played him, and then rushed him back. Amorim is not making the same mistakes. The level of intelligence of this community is frankly appalling

    1. The fitness thing hasnt been a valid excuse for weeks. Hes been training with the whole group for a month now. They dont even introduce players to group training unless they are 100% injury free and fit for high intensity training . And Amorim doesnt even use it as an excuse anymore.

He might not have 90 minutes in his body because thats a different thing, but hes been fit for weeks. He can easily handle 65-70 minutes at max intensity.

On the press conference earlier Amorim admitted Pulisic is upset that he havent gotten any minutes at all. Its a worrying sign.

Hopefully Pulisic comes on vs Lazio and do fine, then start vs Benfica and do great, so Amorim see he is the obvious choice for one of attacking midfield spots.

Personally, until Hutchinson is fit, I dont see why Pulisic and Cisse cant start together? Pulisic played right wing in most of his games here, so one can argue right attacking midfield is more natural for him then left.
