Christian Pulisic is a winger, and he has been for most of his career. However, he is now reaping the rewards from his new position.
It took less than a minute for Pulisic to score his first goal on Monday, and within 10 minutes, he had a brace. In fact, he could have scored the first hat-trick in Serie A this season if it were not for an offside call.

Pulisic’s new comparison?
So, today, Calciomercato.com suggests that Pulisic can be to Allegri what Higuain was, despite his background as a winger. The American’s goal record is better than any striker in the league, and is only bettered by one striker in Europe.
So, with this maturity and technicality, the report suggests that he can be like the Argentine who won two Scudetti with Allegri at Juventus.

Of course, this comparison is relevant currently with Allegri even namedropping the striker in a recent press conference – “As a true centre forward, I’ve only had Higuain in my coaching career.” – and Pulisic is very much the same.
There are several differences between the two, but they are both goal scorers and right now, the American is the spearhead of this team, much like Higuain was at the end of the 2010s for Allegri and Juventus.

imo he’s too talented to be a specialist. He starts the sequence in midfield and then he finishes. He’s done that a number of times.
italian papers. i guess they’d have written the same about Rabiot if he had scored a second.
To me, pulisic is like a B version of Messi. He can do everything, he likes to move all over the pitch, and he always pops up at the right place-right time. He just puts the ball in the back of the net and he likes creating with his teammates. Messi isn’t really a 10 or 9 or false 9, he just is. Pulisic is the same.
Pulisic can Touch messi greatness sometimes, but he cant maintain it, and messi is on Growth hormones so its literally cheating. Maybe when Messi and pulisic both got called into the tunnel for Drug test back in 2014? After the usa v argentina game. They both sat there for hours. messi gave him some secret sauce or something
well of course not, which is why he is a B – grade Messi. He isn’t AT Messi’s level but he’s the very next tier below Messi, Ronaldo, and the other all time greats. But even saying an American is like Messi is mind blowing and a new level for American football. To me, he’s approaching Kaka level importance. Kaka at his peak (to me) was as good as Messi ever was. So I don’t think he’s reached his ceiling yet.
Pulisic was first called up to the senior USMNT in March 2016, when he was 17 years old, for a World Cup qualifier. So you have your dates wrong.
Pulisic played against Argentina in June 2016 in the Copa America and met Messi then.
I keep saying it but I really don’t think we need a true striker. Having Leão and Puli as fluid mobile “positionless” attackers up front seems to work great in this system.
Higuain is a centre forward. Pulisic is a forward. Also there’s no real comparison between the two because Higuain was a massive bottler, he s**t the bed in big games. He missed easy chances. Pulisic doesn’t have Higuain’s instincts, but he doesn’t fold. The teams Higuain played in were much stronger than this current Milan side. This is year 1 of Allegri. We’re a FW short, but even then, between Pulisic and Leao, it may be enough to win the scudetto.
