AC Milan are set to complete the signing of Adrien Rabiot on deadline day from Marseille, according to various reports.

Rabiot to Milan was spoken about as a possibility earlier in the window, especially when Massimiliano Allegri was officially confirmed as the new head coach. Things then went quiet, but accelerated again once Rabiot was transfer listed by Marseille after a training ground bust-up.

Over the past 48 hours reports have emerged from various sources suggesting that things are moving towards completion. Now, on deadline day, the Frenchman is on the verge of returning to Serie A and to Allegri.

Rabiot to Milan: Here we go!

Fabrizio Romano writes: “Adrien Rabiot to AC Milan, here we go! Deal in place for €10m package. Four year contract for Rabiot, set for medical in Milano on Monday authorised by OM. Back with Max Allegri.”

Matteo Moretto, his colleague, also confirms that the operation between the two clubs ‘is done’. Therefore, the former PSG man can be expected in Italy this morning/afternoon for a medical and to sign his contract.

As mentioned, it is believed that the transfer fee will be around €10m including bonuses, so the fixed portion will be lower. A multi-year deal is ready for Rabiot.

  1. I can’t complain about this deal at all. That’s a fantastic price for someone that has at least 3-4 more seasons left in him. While there are questions about attitude, I don’t think that’ll be an issue.

    1. It was like hauge’s tale. One day it was imposibble to sign him last season, now he’s ours. But dunno what result would it be this season.

  2. So if Rabiot really does come (and it looks like he will), then we can just sell Ricci right away. He does play a slightly different position, but now he won’t get a chance at all… Allegri has his beloved Rabiot, and he can set the starting eleven for the whole season in advance…

  3. I’m meeting this deal with a mixed feeling, this guy could have signed for us for free a year ago, now we have to be 10mill to sign him, I hope the salary isn’t ceiling breaking cus if it is, Leao renewal will be a soap opera.

    1. Didn’t his agent want a crazy amount though so it wasn’t really free? I thought that combined with his wages was why we didn’t sign him, not because he chose Marseille.

    1. I think he is like a premium RLC, so he’ll replace him in first team. But I might be wrong what Allegris idea is. Nobody knows at this point. RLC doesn’t tackle, doesn’t block, doesn’t take the ball away, Fofana does.

  4. Finally, at least he’s the chosen one by the coach. And here we go for another French connection. Mike – Rabiot – Fofana – Nkunku. Moncada is dancing right now.

    1. And the best part is… NO MORE MUSAH ON THE PITCH!!!!
Not the biggest fan of Rabiot either but I’d still choose him over Musah 1000 time out of 1000.

      1. The worrying part is that Musah was mostly deployed as RWB in Allegri’s. Seems like he did less harm there as well. And we haven’t got a proper reinforcement for that dept. I’m seeing Alexis will deployed in so many roles this season, ala Borini, lol.
