There is once again some alarm regarding Adrien Rabiot’s condition, as Didier Deschamps confirmed his absence.
As Calciomercato.com write, France will be without Rabiot for the friendly match this evening against Colombia in Landover, Maryland. The French midfielder – as confirmed by the coach himself – suffered a knock to his knee in training and will be rested to avoid worsening problems.
Deschamps announced in a press conference that Rabiot did not take part in today’s training session due to a knock to his knee, which rules him out of the second friendly match.
“Désiré Doué felt some discomfort in his ribs. He had a check-up today, and there are no problems. He will take part in the session. Rabiot, as a precaution, is not participating in training because he suffered a blow to his knee,” he said.
It is a precautionary absence, but it brings to mind what happened once before this season. During the October international break, Rabiot was stopped by the France staff ‘as a precaution’ due to a calf injury he suffered in training.
Upon his return to Milanello, it emerged that the player had actually suffered a calf muscle tear that kept him out for almost a month, causing him to miss five games.
Massimiliano Allegri’s hope, ahead of the crucial match against Napoli scheduled for Easter Monday, is that Rabiot will recover quickly from the problem this time.

International breaks are a double edged sword. Well perhaps Ricci and or Jashari can have another opportunity to wake up and show they are up to it.
Neither Ricci nor Jashari can replace Rabiot’s contribution in midfield.
