Adrien Rabiot is ‘very happy’ that he was able to taste derby success again, praising the whole AC Milan team for their effort.
Milan made it a league derby double over Inter, as they beat their city rivals 1-0 at San Siro on Sunday night. The only goal came in the first half: Pervis Estupinan received a lovely through ball from Youssouf Fofana and lashed his shot into the top corner from inside the box.
Another resolute defensive effort followed as Inter launched cross after cross into the box, which ultimately yielded nothing. There were some calls for a late penalty on Samuele Ricci, but the unanimous verdict seems to be that it would have been incredibly harsh.
Rabiot spoke to Milan TV after the final whistle to offer his thoughts on another big victory in a head-to-head clash for Milan, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.
“I’m very happy with the victory. I wanted to win the derby and we did it in a great way. We’re all satisfied,” he said.
“In today’s football you have to defend with eleven players. Leao also gave us a big hand, as did Pulisic. This is the right spirit we must always have, not just in the derby. The defence also played a great game.”
