‘I was a bit reluctant’ – Rabiot reminisces on Marseille arrival and cools Milan links

There is a need to invest in the midfield this summer, largely because of its poor look without Tijjani Reijnders. Luka Modric will arrive, but the area certainly needs bolstering further. So far, Granit Xhaka and Rabiot have been the two most prevalent links, but neither looks too likely.

A deal for the Swiss midfielder will require a top offer, and today, Rabiot spoke about his decision to move to France.

Instant cooling

It was only last year when the Rossoneri took an interest in Rabiot, but instead, the Frenchman headed home and to Marseille. Now, after a phenomenal season and with the lure of Massimiliano Allegri, the interest has been revived.

Today, he spoke to The Athletic about the move, and in the process, he cooled the links to Milan, as Milan News relays.

“Last year, I had the opportunity to go to Manchester United, but I was a bit reluctant. With their current situation, I wasn’t sure they would continue to do great things, but I have no regrets about that. I’ve always been very happy with the choices I’ve made, and I’ve always enjoyed myself. In Paris, I won, as well as at Juve, where I learned a lot. In the end, I arrived in Marseille and had a great season.”
