Rai journalist claims PSG man has made Milan move ‘priority’ amid Chelsea, Fiorentina links

By Oliver Fisher -

Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva is pushing to return to AC Milan despite links with both Chelsea and Fiorentina, a journalist has claimed.

The veteran centre-back is expected to leave PSG once he has captained them in the Champions League final on Sunday night, and The Telegraph report that Chelsea are considering an offer.

Calciomercato.com however are reporting that Thiago Silva is all set to sign a two-year, €4m-a-year (net) deal with Fiorentina to secure a return to Italy.

However, journalist Paolo Paganini spoke to Rai Sport on Thursday afternoon and suggested that the former Fluminese man is holding out for a different destination.

“For Thiago Silva the priority remains Milan. If he were to return to Italy he would prefer to play with the Rossoneri shirt again,” he said (via MilanLive).

Fabrizio Romano also recently reported on Calciomercato.com that Thiago Silva ‘would be thrilled’ to be able to wear the Milan shirt again.

However, it was suggested in that piece that the club have other ideas as they do not want to sign another player over 30, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic the exception.

  1. He turns 36 in September. 2-Year deal worth €2.5M net with bonuses to €3M/yr (maybe even €3.5M if UCL achieved); but only if you can sell Mussachio for €4-5M to offset the costs. You then have a formidable CB pairing with Romagnoli, Kjaer, Silva, Gabbia, and Duarte. If you can somehow seal the deal for Milenkovic then you could loan out both Gabbia and Duarte to give them more experience within Serie A.

Anything more than that, sorry but €5M could be utilized to push the Tonali deal or Emerson/Dumfries deal over the line and rather have them than Silva.
