Agent Mino Raiola has spoken out about the futures of Gianluigi Donnarumma and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, both of whom are on expiring deals.
Milan are 22 games without defeat in the league, having scored in 30 consecutive Serie A games. Pioli’s machine are a team that wins and convinces the doubters, even when key players such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Simon Kjaer and Ismael Bennacer are injured.
The impact of a player like Ibrahimovic cannot be understated as he has transformed the mentality of the group and has imparted the wisdom of his over two decades in the game, to the extent that the team feel like they can win without him.
Raiola gave an interview to Tuttosport about a number of his different clients, and touched on the importance of Ibrahimovic.
“For him the facts speak for itself. Even though he left Inter just in the season in which Mourinho’s team would then hit the Treble. But his dream was to go to Barça,” he said (via MilanNews).
“Then there were the misunderstandings with Guardiola, but no one could have predicted this. If we went back we would do it again, because this experience was part of his development and what he is today.
“This summer, when he was free, everyone was wrong not to sign him, including Juve. He would have been the ideal man to team up with Cristiano Ronaldo and go together to attack the Champions League.
“He is the most complete player ever in the history of football, he has the talent of Messi and the willpower of CR7.
“If he renews in January with Milan? It may be, but if there is no clarity already in winter about the future of Zlatan would be calm anyway. Someone like Ibra is not afraid of anything. If you follow him, he is one who takes you home even from the war.”
Raiola went on to talk about the future of Donnarumma, another player that Milan are keen to resolve the future of as he is one of the most talented goalkeepers in world football.
“At the moment he is with Milan, then Raiola . If there is a risk of a divorce? For sure, it’s just that Gigio is no longer the one he was four years ago and there are many who inquire about him. But I’ll stop here. I don’t want it to become a media renewal like in the past.”
