Raiola in Italy to work on contract extension for Donnarumma

By Oliver Fisher -

The agent of Gianluigi Donnarumma, Mino Raiola, has reportedly travelled to Milan to begin negotiations on an extension.

The young goalkeeper is rightly highly valued by the rossoneri, and they are keen to tie him down to a new deal.

His current contract is currently due to expire in 2018, and La Gazzetta dello Sport states Milan are working on an imminent extension.

Despite Raiola being in Italy to reach an agreement, it is likely that it will not be signed until next February.

This is due to the legal limits of being an underage player, with Donnarumma being 17. Once he becomes an adult (18), Gigio will see his salary raised from €250,000 to €1-1.5m per year.

He will also be offered a five-year deal, two years more than his current three-year contract.
