Combining with the outgoing Rafael Leao, he finished his chance excellently with a superb header and that was enough to seal the result, even if there was some late drama.
It rounds off an excellent week for the striker, who sealed his deal to Milan and now has played a pivotal part in his nation’s continuance in the tournament.
Goncalo’s gamble
After the game, he was intercepted in the mixed zone and he spoke to the media about his new club and offered an assurance to them, as well as his Portuguese teammates, as @ACMilanInside relays on X.
“I think Milan is a really special club. I’m very happy to go there. I’m leaving a great club to go to another great club.”

“At halftime I told my teammates not to worry: if I play, I’ll definitely score. And then you saw what happened. You can ask them, they heard it… and the goal came. I had guaranteed it.”

I don’t know… I really think it’s very strange how he was a good finisher in Feyenoord – not only in Eredivisie, but also in European tournaments – 8 in 11 CL matches, 6 in 11 EL matches.

Well, it looks to me like his spell at Milan has come to an end, sell him for 20-25 million and don’t look back – nothing personal against the guy, it is just what it is.
I imagine that’s how things will go, but I am not opposed to him staying as main backup for Ramos as well and we can focus on the other areas.

This guy has the right mentality. Looking how Bournemouth signed that talented striker from Elche for 2.5x his market value, I’m starting to think less and less that we’ve grossly overpaid. The guy is a top tier finisher, very strong in the build up play and an aerial threat. He will thrive in Italy

Yes, because they’re going to start him over when of the top 3 players of all time. Also, all players representing a top 10 ranked national team at the world cup are good. There are hundreds if not thousands of professional strikers in the world. I don’t understand the obsession with not rating these players that are “substitutes”. You can only field 11 players at a time.

Ramos needs to forget about the transfer figure and approach every game in a super sub mentality. Many buckle under pressure at Milan.
