Goncalo Ramos was very pleased with getting his first goal for AC Milan, revealing that he will treat his new teammates to dinner to celebrate.
Milan’s new No.9 certainly showed good signs in the season opener against Torino, pressing a lot and combining well with his new teammates. However, he never got on the scoresheet, and thus set his sights on getting a goal against Venezia last night.

While he missed a few chances in the first half, he finally completed the mission with a lovely finish to break the deadlock. That put the Rossoneri in a much better position as Venezia weren’t completely out of the game before that, and eventually allowed them to score a second goal.
Dinner on the cards
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Ramos had apparently promised his new teammates that he would treat them to dinner in the event of scoring a goal. Sure enough, when asked about it in the interview with DAZN, he said: “Yes, I will take the team out to dinner sooner or later”.
We would imagine that images will be posted on social media once this dinner takes place, so we will keep you posted. In any case, it was very nice to see the No.9 get off the mark, especially since he missed a few good chances. That could have weighed him down, but luckily it didn’t.
G. Ramos’s attitude during the goal-scoring play is truly noteworthy. He wins a challenge for the ball in midfield, falling to the ground in the process, while the ball reaches Saelemaekers, who advances toward the penalty area. Ramos immediately gets up and sprints toward the box, catching up to Saelemaekers the latter plays the ball into his path, and Ramos scores with a left-footed shot while on the run, from a difficult angle. His attitude and physical sacrifice during this sequence are absolutely remarkable. This is the mark of a professional player willing to perform. If Leao had shown this same attitude and willingness to sacrifice for the team, he would have been transferred to a top-five global club by now for a fee exceeding €120–140 million and would have become a true superstar.
