Goncalo Ramos has admitted that he should have scored more, but was happy above all that AC Milan got the win against Venezia.
In truth, with an hour of the game gone it was looking like being quite a rough home debut for the new club-record signing. He had missed some glorious chances including a one-on-one that he hit straight at the keeper, but the sign of a good striker is one who keeps going.

Sure enough, the reward eventually came. Alexis Saelemaekers came off the bench and picked the lock with a lovely through ball down the left side of the box, and the finish that Ramos applied made him look every bit the striker Milan paid €75m to sign.
Ramos went to collect the Player of the Match award and then headed over to speak to DAZN to offer his reflections on a memorable first evening in from of the home fans. His words are via MilanNews.
Your first goal at San Siro…
“A wonderful feeling, but the most important thing is the victory. I’m happy with the second victory.”
You missed two chances in the first half to score a first under the Curva Sud…
“It could have been, but I had to score on those chances, also because when I have so many I should score even more than one.”
How do you feel about the coach, your team-mates… what kind of Milan is developing?
“I think you can see our DNA, our mentality. We want to have fun, play football, but win every game. It’s easy to be here, not just for the Portuguese in the team, but also for my other teammates.”
Are you taking the team out to eat now?
“Yes, I’ll take the team out sooner or later.”
Good news is, we’re making the chances and the press is working. Goal or no goal, having a CF who covered more ground than any other player on our team… work rate is immense. Being able to swap all the players behind him so plenty of different options could make all the difference too.
Not going to lie, if he’s working this much and we have two games a week and we are making so many chances, I’d definitely want to keep Gimenez as an option.
Gimenez is a terrible striker. with him on the pitch it would have been a draw, 2 pts dropped. Gimenez is the worst striker Milan has ever signed.

He works hard but his goal output is horrendous, the man literally broke serie a records for not scoring
He’s very productive in attack. Yes, he should have scored more and I’m glad he acknowledges that. And that means he is open enough to working on finishing.
Nonetheless, getting a goal in a new league is a big deal. He just got here weeks ago.
