Ranieri praises Milan’s signing of De Ketelaere: “Excellent by Maldini”

After a very long negotiating process, AC Milan reached an agreement with Club Brugge for the transfer of Charles De Ketelaere. A signing they should be very happy with, as Claudio Ranieri argues.

The Belgian playmaker, who cost Milan around €35m, made his official debut for the club in the game against Udinese this past weekend. He impressed during the 20 minutes he was on the pitch and the future is indeed promising.

Speaking to Il Messaggero (via MilanNews), legendary manager Claudio Ranieri was asked about Milan’s start to the season. He couldn’t help but bring up De Ketelaere as he believed it was an ‘excellent’ signing by the club.

“Milan have the ability to play well and play their game by heart. Some mistakes are understandable because we are just at the beginning, but the the script is the same: good football.

“I really like De Ketelaere. It was enough for me to see him on the pitch once with Belgium to appreciate his qualities. He’s practical, elegant, incisive. An excellent signing by Maldini and Massara,” he stated.

De Ketelaere will most likely get more minutes against Atalanta on Sunday evening but it’s still uncertain if he will play from start or not. The feeling is that Brahim Diaz will get the chance again, but a lot can happen in the coming days.
