Player Ratings: Empoli 1-3 AC Milan – Ballo-Toure and Rebic respond to criticism

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan claimed all three points away at Empoli in a very dramatic fashion as they scored two goals late into injury time. Some players stood out, even if it was a very sloppy clash overall.

Starting XI

Tatarusanu (6): He made a good save on Bajrami 1v1 but questions marks can be raised with regards to his actions on Bajrami’s free-kick. He was expecting it over the wall and thus took a little step in the wrong direction, even if the shoot was good.

Calabria (6.5): He was solid when he was on the pitch, not afraid to drive inside with the ball and he was also good at the back. It’s a shame he got injured and it looks like he will be out for a while.

Kjaer (6): A bit slow at times and he certainly didn’t look 100%, as we found out later with the sub. But he was a warrior and did make more than one important block to deny Empoli.

Tomori (6.5): He grew a lot as the game went on as the start was incredibly sloppy on his part. But then he made one interception, and he followed that up with several good actions and tackles.

Ballo-Toure (7): It seems reactionary, and it might be a tad of that, but that goal is so important for Milan at this stage of the season. He did really well to get up there and make Milan superior numerically, and it paid off. Otherwise an average display.

Bennacer (6): There were times when he dropped down and started directing the play but we didn’t see enough of that. It wasn’t necessarily his fault but this game, with that pitch, didn’t allow him to shine at all.  Also committed the foul on Empoli’s goal.

Tonali (6): He was really smart to pick out Leao with a quick throw-in but other than that, we expect a bit more from him. It was a scrappy and physical game, in which Milan didn’t really have control of the midfield.

Saelemaekers (N/A): It was a bright start from him but he was forced to leave after 32 minutes with an injury. Hopefully, it’s nothing too serious.

De Ketelaere (6): His rating is saved by a few very good moments in the first half during which Milan perhaps should have scored. But we do expect more from him and this wasn’t the display we had been waiting for.

Leao (7.5 – MOTM): He was a bit sloppy at times but, let’s face it, he was the true source of creativity for Milan tonight. The first goal was all his and he was heavily involved in the second as well, plus scoring the third with a nasty dink.

Giroud (6): He hit the bar with a great free-kick and was a true focal point for Milan during his time on the pitch. He didn’t really get many chances, though, which wasn’t necessarily his fault.

Substitutes

Krunic (7): Calm and composed on the ball, playing out of position, he did really well tonight and also got the assist for Ballo-Toure’s crucial goal with a nice header.

Kalulu (5.5): Really not the Kalulu we are used to seeing, although he did play at right-back for most of the game. He looked better at CB but still not great.

Dest (N/A): We didn’t really see anything of him.

Diaz (5.5): Some good moments, some very bad moments.

Rebic (7): Right place at the right time for the first goal and it was a great pass to Leao for the third. He also disturbed the Empoli defence a lot.

  1. Gave up on Empoli goal bro thought Scudetto gone. Midfield was poor actually imo. And the performance of Giroud and leao wasn’t good meant the whole team flop thank god rebic made Milan comeback to real shape. Ballo has a fine game I didn’t see him much . Krunic was good and the assist was also good. No natural Rw hopefully salemaker is fine. Tata was not great at all he was going cost another goal from his poor goal kick he did in the match almost Empoli scored result is good but there were a lot of negatives we need to improve Chelsea next.

    1. It’s a good point but a bit unfair also. Tonali and Bennacer (have to) do the work of 3 players. In fact, too much is asked from them, they need to be always everywhere, to defend, intercept, pass and attack immediately – and it comes naturally on the expense of quality. It is unreasonable to ask them to face always 3 or 4 opponent midfielders. It will come with errors.
The way Milan plays, with required intensity and possession, a 3-man midfield would be more appropriate. They both have great quality but I feel that they sacrifice it for the team. How else for example Leao can be fresh and destroy his opponents?

      1. Thats beacause cdk doesnt drop back enough or fast enough to give them a hand. Thats whats good about diaz drops back picks up the ball and drives forward, but then he messes everything up. Cdk has got to step it up.

  2. ALWAYS Bennacer is underrated on this site!!! He made a few really great passes in traffic at like 8:40 mark (right after Leao should’ve scored off the great CDK pass). 24:55 Bennacer excellent dribbling so confident in traffic protecting the ball, drawing a foul and yellow card. at 26:40 he won a tackle to win us back possession. 55:35 he does a great job dribbling again and draws a foul winning us a free kick in a dangerous position (which led to Giroud’s free kick off the cross bar).

He does these things every game over and over … great dribbling, great defending/tackling, great passing yet he still somehow always gets a 5.5 or 6.

    What are you watching???

  3. Ballo-Toure was actually good all match even before the goal. Other than one heavy touch first half giving away the ball, he received long switch field passes softly, got in some good crosses, was sure w/ the ball and made good well-weighted passes, was well positioned defensively and never got beat on the dribble. Really solid performance filling in for Theo so I’m very happy for him that he was able to get that winning goal off the really excellent aggressive header assist by Krunic.

  4. So great having Rebic back… the Leao commentary said the first goal was “all his”; but that is NOT giving enough credit to the quality and sureness of Rebic’s finish — I mean, just look at what Leao did in a very similar situation very early in match after the CDK pass — which was MUCH MUCH easier to handle for Leao because CDK softly rolled it to Leao perfectly weighted whereas Leao (who, yes of course, did a great job winning possession and finding a way to get it toward Rebic) sent a bouncing ball to Rebic who had to strike that off the bounce out of mid-air and he struck it very firmly and away from the keeper.

Rebic deserves a lot of credit for that finish. He pressed well (as he always does), he drew a foul late on, and of course his strength bodying an Empoli player away allowed him to send that excellent ball forward into space for the assist on Leao’s goal.

    GREAT TO HAVE REBIC BACK!

    1. Stop with the Rebic love fest. Every player on the team with the exception of Saelemaekers or Kalulu puts that ball in the net. Plus, Rebic will be hurt again in a week.

        1. @Yelnatz24.
With Tata…yes, he made mistake on that freekick. But for 90 minutes, he is much better than our noisy neighbour goalkeeper…Handanovic.
          😁😁😁😁😁😁😁…

      1. why didnt kalulu put his in last match? and didnt leao miss from the same postion too earlier in this match?
you can stop loving rebic but you have no right whatsoevr in telling others to stop the right thing of loving and appreciating players who put in great efforts to make us happy, rebic had same stats with leao in this match, yeah, one goal and an assist, and guess what, he achieved his feat in fewer minutes, thats what a great match winner does, about wishing him get hurt in a week’s time, i wish you worse

    2. Rebic? He scored a tap in, relax. Today was all Leao, and he didn’t even have a good game. His potential is scary.

      1. That was a huge goal and we needed it. When Leao had an EASIER situation early in the match off of CDK’s perfect setup, Leao did terribly and didn’t score. So don’t tell me to relax — he had the composure to strike the ball well that was coming up off of the bounce and the goalkeeper was diving to his right to stop it — the shot needed to be well placed toward the left post away from the keeper and struck well. You think it’s easy and a tap it? Why didn’t Leao score in an easier situation? Why can’t you give credit where it’s due?

Anyway, the fact is, Rebic, when he plays (yes, he’s been hurt a LOT, but when he plays…), is very productive and with Origi and Ibra still hurt, it’s just very good to see him back because 36 year old Giroud simply just can’t keep playing 90 minutes every match. it’s too much — so any Milan fan should be very happy to see Rebic back and making a huge impact toward our victory today.

        1. I did give credit where it was due….to Leao. He assisted the goal and then scored himself later. Rebic had a tap in. Leao’s chance was easy and he should’ve scored but it was not a tap in. Don’t get too excited..

  5. Saelemakers still stinks. I really think Dest needs to play RW (hope Calabria isn’t out too long… Dest might need to be RB now). But Kalulu can play RB with Kjaer/Tomori as our two CBs… then Dest can play RW. Saelemakers and Messias are just so inconsistent — they’re MOSTLY terrible and then have one good game every maybe 10 or 12 matches.

  6. What a match!

It’s nice to see the boys keeps going on despite Empoli made it 1-1 at injury time. A team needs a winning mentality if they want to success!

Leao deserves that MotM. He gave assist, scored, and had a hand with the second goal as well. But yes let’s just sell him according to some people 🤦‍♂️

Nice to see Balo Toure scored his first goal and Rebic 3rd goal in this season after a month injury. Hopefully Rebic stay well for the rest of the season because we need more goal scorer.

As for anyone who’s not satisfied with the performance, needs to remind you that we didn’t have Mike, Theo, and a bunch of players because of injury. But still manage to win 3 point in a rainy weather that makes the field looks slippery and hard to use.

  7. Start either Jungdal or Mirante. Tatarusanu is awful. That Bajrami counter was mostly him talking a bad shot than Tata save. He was shaky all game long and that free kick positioning and reaction was unacceptable. Pioli could have saved that
Happy for Ballo Toure. Even without the goal he had a good game.
Another shaky game by the defense and the midfield duo.
Bennacer and Tonali might be the worst set piece takers I’ve ever seen.
CDK started the game great but slowly disappeared.
Brahim change the tempo for better.
Glad we got Rebic back. Love Giroud but his lack of pace is hurting us in certain situations.
Leao needs to work on his finishing and not holding on to the ball for so long.
3 more injuries, especially Calabria’s doesn’t look good at all.
But no matter the circumstances we keep on winning
    Forza Milan

    1. At least, Tata is better than Handa.. 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
And even Leao needs to improve (according to @20&8)…he still got the goal and assist. Look at the assist on Rebic’s goal. He sourounded by three players, but still he can pass the ball…
Imagine if he can improve more than his oerform las night. Will be desaster for any opponents…
      Thank you Milan…

      1. Leao missed a clear goal chance created by CDK in the first 15 minutes. If he scores that the game opens up for Milan and it’s an easy win. Great players finish that with ease. That’s why I said he needs to improve his finishing. His finishing in general, not just in this game, is below average. He misses a lot of easy chances Every player on this team has weaknesses that they should work on to improve, including Leao

        1. That wasn’t a clear chance, it was a good save. To claim he needs to work on his finishing, after some of the goals he’s scored this season, including the third here, suggests you’re clueless. Very few forwards score all their chances, Lewandowski for example, misses a lot. Leao isn’t a center forward, he’s a winger and his numbers this year are off the charts.

          1. You are 100% right. I’m absolutely clueless. Leao is great at finishing chances .
If that was Brahim Diaz you would consider that a clear chance and Brahim is the worst if he missed it. But for Leao it’s not a clear chance.
            I got it

          2. Your first words are bs – a good save doesn’t make the chance unclear. He receive a ball from CDK without marking, with time to think and a good distance from goal. That is 100% easier than Rebic’s goal.

His numbers are off the charts? As far as I know he doesn’t reach 20 goals yet (for club) at this season and before. Don’t take me wrong, I love him and I do think he is one of the best players in Milan. But under 20 goals is not off charts. “he’s a winger and not a center forward” So does Cristiano. So does Messi. So does Salah. So does Mane. Etc, etc. None of them are pure Center forward. But their numbers are far higher than Leao.

Leao is one of our best player, I hope he stay with us till he retired, but he is not THAT good yet that any mistake he did gets forgotten easily.

        2. Agree with you…
Maybe Leao likes to scoring goal in a little bit difficult situation, so he can’t scoring goal if its too easy…
          😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄….

        3. “Great players finish that with ease”

Great players are human, NOT robots.

Sheva, Pippo, Basten, Vieri, Crespo, Ronaldo, etc made mistakes and wasted a lot of chances too.

Not to mention Empoli GK played really well. Kudos to him,

    2. isnt this Tata’s 1st game this season? may be match rusty and wouldnt that be the same for the others you mentioned too? though i always prefer we let the youth slide into matches, so would want to see jungdaal. but i dont appreciate judging players poorly on their scarce oppotunities

    3. This is Tatarusanu first league match for this season and he played much better than Inter GK Handanovic.

Seriously, cut him some slack. Could Tatarusanu played better and block that FK?Yes of course. But to say he’s awful is just a false statement.

  8. Thats beacause cdk doesnt drop back enough or fast enough to give them a hand. Thats whats good about diaz drops back picks up the ball and drives forward, but then he messes everything up. Cdk has got to step it up.

  9. The fact that we had to lose our entire standard right side and our striker, play with 2 LWs, 0 RWs only to start scoring, should be an indication of how horrible our right side is and how badly we needed a young, competent striker.

    1. This has been a lasting problem, and I’m sure by now all our future opponents know this too. I don’t think M&M are unaware of the situation. They probably don’t have the funding, or there are no opportunities in the market that helps the club financially and economically fill that void.

  10. Such an unfair thing is to ever critisize balo-toure , it is not an easy situation to be a bench player for such a beast player and probably the best one in europe at your position like theo.. it’s not simple to mentally endure the fact that u will play maybe 1 of 15 matches and to endure the fact that u can’t ever play at least half as good as theo,he is just so OP player, anyway he was pretty good tonight.I am very worried about Leao’s contract , he is just better and better and his demands will proportionaly rise as he gets better offers from other teams ,if we can’t fulfill his demands now what we can do later when he over dominates one more season..

  11. There is literally nothing Tonali can do to get below a 6 rating here. Can we please have an honest conversation about him. I know I’m going to upset all the fanboys on here but He is just not that good. He adds nothing going forward, and he’s really not that great defensively either. It’s been a big drop off in the midfield this season without Kessie. Tonali is not the answer. I get that he runs hard but that is not enough to be a top player. Not replacing Kessie is really going to come back to bite Milan .

    1. @K You say it’s been a big drop off this year without Kessie and I agree BUT don’t forget, last year starters were Kessie and Tonali, not Kessie and Bennacer,. Bennacer is the one that stepped in to replace Kessie. So if there is a drop off maybe you are pointing the finger at the wrong player.

      1. NO. There is a drop off because there is no Kessie. And they don’t have any real backup. If you’ve watched Milan over the last few years you could see Kessie, Bennacer > Kessie, Tonali > Bennacer Tonali. If you can’t see that Bennacer is a better midfielder than Tonali, then you don’t know what you are watching. It’s not close.

        1. I guess Pioli didn’t know what he was watching either, because he preferred Kessie and Tonali, and towards the end of the season, during the final title run he also preferred Krunic over Benacer.
You also said that Tonali doesn’t add anything going forward, what does Bennacer add going forward? Matter fact how many of his 40,50 passes a game are actually forward passes? Everything is a lateral or a backwards pass.
Vs Empoli Bennacer 1(one) forward long pass, Tonali 11 of which 7 accurate.
Tonali is a DEFENSIVE midfielder, Bennacer suppose to be the regista, the playmaker.

          1. I wish I was as confident talking rubbish as you are. It’s staggering. Bennacer is a playmaker this guy says. haha.

        1. Half of the time?
Kessie played in maybe handful games in the 10 hole.
          Not half the time.
          In the 10 hole :
Brahim started 25 games, Daniel Maldini started 2,
the other 11 out of 38 games were divided between Kessie and Krunic.
          Overall starts
          Tonali 31
          Kessie 25
          Krunic 15
          Bennacer 15

    2. This comment makes no sense at all. You can reply this when you’re sober, and whatever it is you smoked/sniffed is out of your system.

      1. Please explain to me in what aspect of the game is Tonali anything more than average? Not dribbling, not passing, not creativity, not shooting, can’t deliver a decent corner or free kick, doesn’t have great pace, not great defensively. He’s physical and runs hard… So f*%king what.

        1. Because he’s not Neymar doesn’t make him average. I’ve seen him beat his man in a dribble several times. He makes decent passes at present goal-scoring opportunities, and because he doesn’t do it as much as Xavi or Iniesta doesn’t make him average. Average players don’t win trophies… Tonali’s performances last season was instrumental in our Scudetto triumph, same goes for the rest of the team. Appreciate the young man. He puts in solid performances, if his ability to run hard and be physical in the midfield is enough to win matches, then he deserves his spot. Your unfounded criticism is baseless and lacks any atom of intelligence.

          1. Nonsense. Tonali has played about 75 minutes of good football this season, nothing more. The guy is painfully average but he works hard so people give him a pass. His touch is non-existent, he can’t shoot, he’s slow, I could go on… if he wasn’t Italian or a Milanista, our club would’ve gotten rid of him a long time ago.

    3. This is in no way trying to say Tonali is doing great. However, there has been a few changes that makes life harder for our midfielders including Tonali, Bennacer and CDK.
First is the void left be Kessie. While he is apparently not doing great at Barcelona, he was a powerhouse in our team and could dictate the midfield rhythm with his physicality. With him gone, both Tonali and Bennacer (as well as the whole team, have to adapt and adopt a new style which takes time.
Then on top of that we have the numerous injuries that have disrupted our rhythm which makes it even more difficult for our generally outnumbered midfielders.
And last but not least, the very tight schedule. This means that bigger teams competing in European competitions have to play every 3-4 days, and therefore have less time to recover. This in turn means that teams who do not play in Europe can try to be extra physical as we saw with most of the teams we have played so far.
So for me, our midfielders have been doing a decent job, but I do agree that we can expect more.
      Forza Milan!

    4. Totally agree. Milan fans are blinded by player loyalty and nationality. If he wasn’t Italian or a Milan fan, he would’ve left this club a long time ago. Watching the guy try to do anything that involves any kind of technique or skill is painful. At least Bennacer is great on the ball, Tonali is just a liability. He’s not quick, either. It’s so frustrating. Credit where credit is due, though, well played on the throw in, that was quick thinking.

      1. You’re pathetic. You do what so many fans do. They hate anyone who is italian because they think they get special treatment…. did Calabria get special treatment when we almost sold him? Did Romagnoli get special treatment when we wouldn’t budge by 500k to resign him and let him go instead. The hate you have for tonali is wild. You think it’s him v kessie v bennacer… it’s not. This is a team. Not a battle between our best 2 midfielders.

tonali cut his salary to make the transfer for us, fights his ass off and after 1 not so great year was essential in our scudetto push last year.

Fact of the matter is, neither tonali or bennacer is doing as well this year because there’s no kessie. Kessie isn’t some legend but he is a great complement for both Tonali and Bennacer. Now the 2 of them who imo are better suited for a 3 man mid, have to try and adapt throughout the season to playing a little different since we don’t have a kessie anymore and just give it time they’ll be fine. But relax already about hating italian players, it’s weird and tbh, it’s sounding racist.

        1. You are clearly a butthurt Italian so get over yourself and leave the real football analysis to those of us who understand the game. Focus on trying to qualify for a World Cup for once instead.

Bennacer not doing well? Maybe you are r@cist also? He has more MOTM performances than any player this season so far and was our player of the month for August, so what are you talking about?

        2. Wrong again. People are not criticizing Tonali because he’s Italian, it’s because he’s been way overhyped since the day he came to Milan. He gets good ratings for doing almost nothing. The media is determined to make him the next big Italian superstar despite the fact that he just doesn’t have the ability or skill to be that. Those of us who don’t have our Italian blinders on can see that.

          1. Nòooooo, I have been reading @saneorssonoero and your comments… But you guys fail to identify the effect of injuries to Tonali’s form. He has suffered at least 2 injuries and rushed back for reasons best known to Pioli. How do you expect great performances from him.

For me, he’s been playing at below 80% fitness for most of the games this season and he will grow into it if he is well managed… Thesame goes for Origi.

    5. Fans forget easily😅🤣🤣.!!! You guys have gradually shifted from calling Leao inconsistent, to calling Tonali an average player without technique…. How about you guys shut the f*ck up and watch the team succeed.

Many of you here weren’t even watching Milan last season till you heard they won the Scudetto, and now you think you know what the team needs… Go to hell!

      1. This isn’t just directed at you but at every “fan” who does what you are doing… can we stop the this guy v that guy thing?? Wtf does leao have tk do with tonali…? They play entirely different positions and in case you didn’t remember they combined for the game winning goal tonight and combined a ton at the tail end of last season for many game winners which was the final push for the scudetto..

Also, if anybody thinks we should sell leao because they think he isn’t good they’re crazy. But that’s not what people are saying. They’re saying they think he’s going to leave for free so might as well get money for him while you can. These are 2 vastly different things guy.

    6. “Can we please have an honest conversation about him.”

Why should we? It’s not allowed on Leao so why would Tonali be an exception? =)

      1. What’s the conversation on Leao? That he’s the best player in Serie A? That he either scores or assists on virtually 90% of Milan’s goals.? If there’s anyone arguing otherwise, they are really not worth talking too.

    1. no one wants him sold, but it would pay everyone if he’s sold (if he doesnt sign) rather than see him leave for free, its not fair for him to get 7m and still expect milan to clear his debt at sporting (which should be borne by his manager, after all, he moved his client to another club, its mendez’s fault and he should pay for it) if leao loves ,milan, he should consider a reasonable fee from milan too, it didnt take theo this long, nor was the drama this much. he is a good player, we all love him, he too should reciprocate his love for milan, but i believe the management would step up to have it sorted

  12. Glad everyone is seeing the Kessie sized hole in midfield I’ve been preaching all along before ppl started to say I was obsessed😁.

Great victory. I’m so happy with the mentality but sad at the injuries. I guess it’s Dest at RB for a while. I’ve also been saying Kjaer and moreso Giroud are too old to be playing so many games but hey we made.our choices. Forza Milan

    1. Also, Tatarusanu was attrocious. Deserves less than 5. How can you get beaten on the non-wall end?. He literally sets up a wall but stands within the view of the wall instead of clear of the wall thereby obstructing his own view of the ball coming in 🤦‍♂️. It was such terrible goalkeeping that almost coated us the game and 3 points

  13. Bennacer is the guy everyone thinks Tonali is. An absolute machine, all over the pitch and always so good on the ball (far better technique and touch than his partner). He makes a few mistakes sometimes but who doesn’t? He deserves a higher rating.

  14. Tata is solid, Ballo is solid and work very hard, CDK still havent find the rythm

credit to empoli goalie , outstanding game. other empoli players such as parisi etc played amazing

    kudos milan!

  15. Tata is terrible. Horrible positioning on the free kick. Should have been a save. Can’t make that kid of error that late on game. He always does something like that. One solid save followed by a mental lapse. Where would we be without Leao?? Hate to even think it. Delivers when it matters most. Draws 2-3 players to him every time. Only will get better. We must keep him. When are we going to get a real RW? This is fkn comical. Can’t even imagine how scary we would be with a quality RW. I love Giroud but nobody can expect him at 36 to contribute every game esp when having to play every 3 days. Origi needs to get healthy quick and step up. We are def a weaker team defensively without Kessie that is obvious. Tonali doesn’t offer that same cover in front of the back line. We need to figure that out. I would like to see Aster given an opportunity. Good win esp with Inter loss. Forza Milan

  16. For Leao, in my opinion, according to difficulty of Benfica and Mendez matters, the alternative is as follows :
    1. If we can, renew him til 2027, which im really hope its happen
    2. If not (under forced circumstances), sell him on January, with big money, or in summer with less money.
In January, we can have big money, but its hard to find replace for leao, that can addapt with milan in such a short time.
In the summer, we have much time to find a replace, but the money is less than january mercato, cause his contract ended in summer 2024. And its bigger risk to lose him free

  17. Games like this are needed.
It was a great test of will and resilience.
Coming of an international break where most players were gone, a bunch of players out injured, losing 3 more players to injuries during the game , conceding a goal in the 92th minute and still managing to score 2 goals and win the game.
The way they won will be an even bigger boost for the team morale for this tough stretch before until the World Cup.
It was not a good game but a sign of a championship team is when they find a way to win even when they don’t play good

  18. Bennacer seemed tired but still decent, he’s never terrible because he works so hard.

Tonali imo was close to motm for me

Ballo toure was not good but I don’t care tonight he didn’t have any disasters and wow what a clutch goal!!

Rebic was probably motm as he changed everything.

Leao is showing his class, we NEED a RW to take some of the pressure off him every game.

CDK needs time to develop but I at least want to see hunger like I see from guys like Zaniolo. Not impressed so far but will be patient.

Tata is awful, free kick should 100% have been saved. We need a better backup gk asap.

        1. You are the r@cist who hates Arab players. Not surprised, though, since you’re Italian. REBIC MOTM? Haha for what? Because he scored a tap-in. Stop smoking crack.

  19. The really problems for Smiling Rafa and Milan is Benfica and his greedy agent Mendez. If not, Rafa is already sign his contrac at this time…

    1. Sporting Lisbon not Benfica.
And players or their fans should stop hiding behind their agents.
Mendes works for Leao not the other way around.
Raiola worked for Donnarumma , not the other way around.
If a player really wants to stay with a club he tells his agent to find an agreement with that club.
If the money is the most important to him, then he tells his agent to get him the highest offer possible.
The player has the final word , not his agent.
Stop letting these players off the hook and putting all the blame on their agents

  20. Looks like Leao haters now joined the Tonali hate band? lol Now that they realized hating Leao proved fruitless, they all ran into the Tonali hatehole. lmfao

Are You a ‘fan’ who just needs to hate on a player? Do you have a specific hate whatsapp group where you fix your target everyday? Cant Sleep till you post a hate comment towards a player on SempreMilan? Read carefully below. lmfao

Tonali is a defensive midfielder and Bennacer is a playmaker. LEARN. THE. DIFFERENCE.

The WORST performer for Milan was Pioli in this match. Used the overworked exhausted UCL team against a freaking physical team like Empoli where Adli, Vrankxx, Dest, Thiaw, Gabbia was available. Guess what.. three of our UCL starters got injured and left the pitch. Lets hope leao shows up vs Chelsea and wins us the match. Otherwise.. braindead haters will jump back on the Leao hatewagon again.

    1. I keep on saying it, the whole midfield setup is wrong and that’s the coaches fault, cus players must play to instruction. Leao is good but too lazy on the press and that kinda frustrates the frontline pressure. He needs to be told to press well and not just stroll and occupy space

      1. Are you speaking about Tonali? If he was doing well I would be happy. The problem is he is not doing well but nobody wants to admit it.

        1. Talking about Leao actually. But just how good do you want Tonali to be every game? He’s been solid so far nothing amazing but solid. Last season he was great. So if he’s not great every game he’s lambasted? Sucks to be an Italian in this team… fans hate you it seems when you’re Italian.

          1. It’s quite the opposite. Apparently if you are Italian you get an extra point added to your rating every week. You say he’s been “solid” , I would say mediocre, which may have been good enough when you have someone like Kessie along side of you but without him, it’s not good enough. And he was not great last season, he was just much better than his first season which was awful. People who criticized Leao did so because they saw how much potential he had , the amazing skills and ability, that if he just focused and worked hard he could be great. The problem with Tonali isn’t that. It’s that he doesn’t have the skill or ability to be great. He is focused and works hard, there isn’t much room for him to improve. I don’t see him ever being much better than he is now, which I don’t think is good enough if Milan want to compete with the best.

  21. K n saneorsonero either the same man or an internisti.. he hate tonali n leao who bring us scudetto last year.. he may never watch milan play last season.. he didnt even see the stats.. completely an idiot with stupid writing and brain.l or just want us to get rid our best players.. rubbish comment like those should be ban on this web

    1. Never said anything negative about Leao, not once. You shouldn’t even mention Leao and Tonali in the same breath, they are on different planets as far as ability and skill level. Leao carries the team, where as the team has been carrying Tonali.

  22. i almost cried when balo toure score his first and important goal for Milan because he felt like crying too i feel for him

  23. It’s hard for Tonali he has to run a lot. Today he wasn’t great because he isn’t not good defensively but in attack he made good passes to start attack. Vranckx should be ideal imo like juro and I said we should give him chance. I think we didn’t concede goal on defensive error but it was a very shaky performance but the blocks were still there overall we need to improve in all aspects attack was flop, defence shaky keeper worse and midfield wasn’t also bad. Ppl are also were having debate on leao and rebic, firstly we should not say he should get injured as one guy said we are team why are we hoping our player gets injured again then leao got motm because of more contribution even though rebic was the game changer so leao motm is fair.
