Player Ratings: Torino 0-0 AC Milan – highs and lows paint dire picture

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan registered their second consecutive 0-0 draw this evening as they failed to find the back of the net against Torino. While the defenders did very well, the attackers’ dip in form was even more evident tonight.

Starting XI

Maignan (7): He made a huge save at the start of the second half, diving to Milan’s rescue, and he was also forced into action on a couple of other occasions. It was also his fifth consecutive clean sheet in the league.

Calabria (6): He was solid in defence, as you would be expected from one of the league’s best defensive 1v1 players, but perhaps a bit more could have been required in attack. He wasn’t that involved (most likely tactical choice) and he did have a chance which he failed to convert.

Kalulu (6.5): He’s always very calm on the ball and he continued to do well at the back this evening. His growth over the last few weeks is really impressive and he’s a major cause behind the clean sheets.

Tomori (7 – MOTM): Tonight’s game was a clash between Tomori and Bremer for the MOTM award. The Englishmen made several crucial interceptions and most notably blocked a goal-bound Belotti effort at the last second.

Hernandez (6): He had a slightly different role today as he often found himself further inside the pitch from the start, moving there without the ball. He could have been a bit more composed in attack, hence the average rating.

Tonali (5.5): Milan really missed Bennacer on the pitch today as the Algerian often attempts the more difficult passes (with great success), which is what they needed from Tonali today. We didn’t quite get to see that, though.

Kessie (5.5): It’s a tough performance to assess as the Ivorian did his defensive duties well, most of the time. But when Torino sat back, he could have been a bit more involved in the attacking phase. It was just below a 6, in my opinion.

Saelemaekers (5): He worked hard out there tonight but it just wasn’t happening for him. He had several poor crosses and he almost always made the wrong decision when on the ball, including some really sloppy passes.

Diaz (4.5): He was subbed off after just 55 minutes and that wasn’t exactly surprising. He’s not even close to being in form and it didn’t help that he was up against some very physical players tonight.

Leao (5): It was such a mixed bag from the winger this evening. Some fantastic moves, but also a few very poor ones. He beat his man almost every time but still managed to create very little from it.

Giroud (6): It would be extremely harsh to give him anything less than a pass. Sure, he didn’t win all the duels against Bremer (which you cannot expect either), but he won many of them. When Milan did have dangerous chances, he was almost always involved.

Substitutes

Messias (6): Much better from him tonight compared to recent outings. He was unlucky not to get a shot away during some of the good chances he had, almost having a great impact on the game.

Krunic (N/A): He didn’t have the ball a lot at all, so it’s impossible to rate his display.

Gabbia (N/A): A surprising entry and he didn’t play enough to get a rating.

    1. It has looked that way since the end of last year. You just didn’t see it. We are only were we are because Napoli and Inter took a slight dip, partly due to their commitments in Europe.

You might not agree but the truth is, they have a better team than Milan; they have teams that play and win football matches, and can hold their grit for a hole season. Our players virtually lose form after the December break.

      1. These are all facts.
Milan have been playing bad all of 2022. Outside of the Lazio Copa win and those 3 minutes vs Inter, where Giroud turn the game around(after Milan was outplayed by Inter) Milan has been abysmal.
The coach hasn’t tried to change a single thing.
Rebic beeing injured most of the year is the worst thing that could happen for Leao. That guy should have been benched 4 games ago. He is so disinterested during games (try watching him off the ball).
But most blame should be assigned to Paolo Maldini. How do u go into the season with Foosball player Brahim Diaz as the only CAM backed up by his serie C quality son Daniel(nepotism).
You go into season with Saelemakers (right/wing back by trade) Samu and Serie B delivery driver Messias as a RW.
His 2021 summer transfer window should be thought to new sporting directors as how not to do transfer windows.

      2. Same Napoli and inter that are also losing…..what do you mean we are were we are cos of our rival form, hey dude we won most of our matches against our rivals and if not for poor reffree desicion, we would have been on top with much gap from second place…..you guys love talking trash

  1. Absolutely disgusting being in this position. I will put the blame on the management any time any day. They caused all this shit from last year’s summer transfer market. How in God’s green earth can a football club challenging for titles act so stupid and naïve in the market?

*We lost a natural #10, instead of getting a better replacement, we got his half-cut ineffective benchwarmer to take his place, even without replacing the benchwarmer.

*We sent out our best player during the preseason on loan, and replaced him with an already injured player who doesn’t offer any assurances.

*Due to the management’s inability to invest in quality, we let opportunities pass, and out of pressure, we got another injured player for RW on deadline day, hoping that they all recover and becoming the stars that they weren’t before their injuries.

*Least I forget, the management also thought it wise to get an already used, worn out attacker, who is well passed his prime, and an opportunist in front of goal at best. Anyone who dare challenges my deductions, feel free to tell me how wrong I am.

I said it several times in the first half of the season, that the Milan attack was one-dimensional, and it was going to cost us when Leao’s tactics get figured out, or if he tires out or loses form; people insulted me here for not being able to read the game. Leao has been suffering from a dip in form for the past few weeks, and now we can’t score. I haven’t seen Milan struggle to score a goal since the Kesuke Honda era.

It is so disgusting knowing and watching Brahim Diaz start every game because he is the only viable option we have for that position on the 23-man team. We are gradually concluding another season of experiments, and it is so painful to watch. In an ideal world, a more serious investor than the Elliot group would have sacked Maldini and Massara for gross incompetence in the technical handling of the team.

The lapses in RW, AM, and Striking positions have been glaring since the first game of the season, one would think that we would force a good move in January to save our Scudetto pursuit, but what did Maldini do? he brought in a U19 player for 5million to roast in the bench. THIS WHOLE THING STINKS. IT REALLY STINKS. Aren’t we tire of the experiments? When are we going to see players who know jobs, play football for Milan?

It is painful to see that we are so close to the scudetto, yet so far away. It is heartbreaking for the fans, it is insulting to the fans, the disregard is amazing. Maldini and Massara shouldn’t even show up for the games, they act like they care, they sit there all coiled up in their fancy suits and act like they don’t know the scudetto is a lost cause before the opening whistle of every game. They act surprised by the outcomes, when indeed their work doesn’t speak of “Ambition”.

Let’s not even start blaming the referee, he made some wrong calls, that’s true; but we hardly looked like we were there to win a football match. The starting line up is a mess, the bench is not even worthy of a look to consider a selection.

At this point people like, Bakayoko, Krunic, Diaz, Messias, Giroud, should all be on their way out. What FUCKERY!!! This is crazy guys.

Every week Milan is linked with a Defender and a Midfielder, even the recent rumours for our choices for the attack are even more disgusting.

Pioli also can’t be absolved of all this shenanigans. If your tactics aren’t working, find a formation that works for fucks sake. Change the whole thing. This isn’t practice, this is MATCHDAY. You don’t gamble on MATCHDAY, that’s why you have all week for training. He probably spend the week putting the players through strenuous routines and some players can’t even make it to matchday.
He didn’t try anything different if you ask me, Kessie in the #10 position has always been a matchday gamble. How do you play Kessie in #10 in training althrough the week, without knowing that shit is never going to work on matchday. No formation change, no change in tactics, nothing. Doing the same thing the same way and expecting a different result, FOOLISHNESS 101. To think that we had the lightest schedule for 2 months before the rest teams got knocked out from Europe. There are no excuses here.

Let us all understand some things,

    -THE REFEREES ARE NOT BIAS!!
-THERE IS NO AIA CONSPIRACY AGAINST MILAN!!!
-THE CLUB IS JUST RUN BADLY BY A MANAGEMENT WITHOUT AMBITION!!!

I apologize for my rant guys, but this one really hit home for me. It has been a frustrating season. Have a great week my people.

    1. Don’t blame Maldini and Massara because elliott management wants them to sign the kind of players they do. In an interview they described the strategy has searching in ponds that no one else is searching in meaning that they want to sign players no one else wants to sign so that they can drive down the price.

      1. Bro, what are you even talking about?? Drive what price down? Elliott doesn’t know anything about sports, let alone football. They are financial investors, Maldini and co. are tasked with bringing in the players, and if the Bakayoko, Messias, Giroud and Diaz moves are logical to you, then you must have a rethink bro. Our transfer activity last Summer and Winter have made no sense whatsoever. We have been experimenting since Pioli came and its looking like we might also run some more experiments going into next season, if Maldini plans on using Adli as AM.

For me, the only thing that makes sense is Elliot wants to balance the books and sell the club, but why Maldini is involved in this unambitious era in Milan’s history is beyond me. Of course except he’s only in it for the money

        1. If you read what I typed then you know that I do not support the signing of players like diaz and the rest of what you mentioned above. And there is evidence of the strategy stated. How do think we sign players like alexis saelemaekers for around 9 million when he is worth €8 million when most club would have wanted at least 20% more of the market value, Mike Maignan for €14.30m when he is worth €25.00m, tonali for a total of €16.9 million when he is worth €27.0 million, florenzi for a total of (if we sign him) €5.5 million when he is worth €13 million on the day of negotiation, and Yacine Adli for €8 million when he is worth €9 million.

        2. Don’t be that heavily critical, we are in top of the table and that wasn’t even ideal during other years…..I know the management need to do more but let our critic be constructive because we have really leaped forward compared to other years

      2. Just because a club can’t or won’t participate in an auction for a player, doesn’t mean it will drive the price down… What are you taking about? If you don’t pay a player his asking price, 10 other serious clubs will

    2. While I was (and still am) 100% with you on the attack issues (being 1 dimensional), I disagree with you on Maldini and Massara. Just think of the problems they had to solve (basically building a team from scratch, even loosing starters) and the money they were given. In fact it’s incredible what they did, a small miracle.
Maldini said it months ago, that with the money we can afford, you can only get players who are not proven.

But we are fans and we forget easily. We forget that before Maldini era, even with spending much more money, we were fighting to qualify to Europa League (and we failed). And now we have secured the CL already from February, fighting for the scudetto – and all this while spending peanuts AND reducing drastically the salary bill. And we are disappointed with our management. It’s crazy.
Don’t get me wrong, I am also disappointed with the missed change, but we need to see the full picture.

      1. Whatever gamble M & M took on cheap transfers, that paid off in recent years, was undone by the lack of ambition shown going into this season.

Let’s stop taking about the money Elliot gave, and let us talk about what the money was used for. I have never believed, even up until now, that the money we had during the summer was only good enough to bring in injured players. Baka and Messais were a waste of time and money. M & M stood idly by “waiting for cheap opportunities”, instead of going head-on to solve the problems. Are we going to blame the Elliot’s budget as the reason for bringing in Baka & Messias? or do we blame it for replacing Calahnoglu with a Diaz that we all new what his weak point is? Are we going to blame the budget for getting Giroud too? M & M went into the season without scudetto dream in mind. Let us just accept that the management is not interested in winning titles, and stop praising them with a glass-half-full approach.

    3. You are 100% right but please do not blame the coach, the coach is not going to make a miracle when he have garbage…..I dont know why we are still contemplating on renewing ibra.

The blame is on the management, this have been seen for a long time and they act like they are not aware…..I agree with you but don’t blame the coach

  2. Absolutely disgusting being in this position. I will put the blame on the management any time any day. They caused all this shit from last year’s summer transfer market. How in God’s green earth can a football club challenging for titles act so stupid and naïve in the market?

  3. Diaz 4, Saele 4, Leao 5, Giroud 5, messias 5

    Maignan, Kalulu and Tomori 7
    Calabria 6.5
    Theo 6
    Tonali 6
    Kessie 6

Defended like lion and attacked like kitten

2nd or 3rd place would not be surprising if we cannot score a goal consistently.

Inter and napoli attackers and attacking midfielre are way scarrier

    1. Yet we are in top of the table, Napoli even lost at home with their attackers and inter is just recovering….you guys take easy on the guys, the league is not yet over

  4. Maldini and masari made a huge mistake by not signing a quality top striker…giruod36.. Ibrahimovic 41 are not fit enough for scudetto fight.. imagine if we had beloti or scamacar we would have won the league since.

    1. We don’t have a team capable of mounting a scudetto challenge. The team was built with the sole purpose of attaining top 4 places every season, get UCL bonuses, balance the accounts, and then sell off for a huge profit.

When Elliot brought in Ivan Gaizidis, that should have told you that the management needed a business solution, not one of sporting ambition.

  5. Maldini: “January mercato? The team is competitive and at the moment we have no intention of doing anything and I sincerely don’t think we will do anything.”

      1. Sad part is, Elliott provided the money, management decided not to use it. This is on Gazidis, Scaroni, Maldini & Massara.

        1. Well, truth is I cannot say what Elliot provided, but the activities of the Management lacks ambition. Just take look at our purchases in the transfer market. The fact that they turned a blind eye to the more important thing.

          1. If summer Mercato wasn’t proof enough, than winter one is. Horrible, horrible choices. Giro, Assias, Brahim, Pellegri, Lazetic, Yoko… Not seling, Samu, Krunic, even Romagnoli and Kessie. So man poor choices.

    1. Maldini is correct in one thing. The team is competitive enough for top 4 finish, which is the season target from Management. what we hate is, Milan has a clear chance for battling scudetto during winter break. Why stopping the momentum with that horrible winter mercato? If we had at least 1 decent midfielder OR 1 decent striker, we might have a clear pathway for scudetto.

Playing 4-5-1 with diaz, saele/messias in midfield is a nightmare for every striker. Even prime Ronaldo could not do anything. When Leao is isolated, no other player on the field could cover his work.

  6. Bland bland bland performance. I don’t know what happens during the week in training of these are the results. Our number 10 and 56 need divine intervention. Pioli can’t help them any further. Pioli himself in this situation doesn’t exude confidence. Seems the Scudetto kitchen is too hot for him. We had our destiny on our own hands, and it’s gone in the blink of an eye. God help Milan

  7. Where are those fans who cover the ineptitude of Maldini and Massara with the FFP regulations???

The ones who think Elliot is serious about the club.

    I’m calling you guys out

    1. I appreciate where you’re coming from, I really do. But I think you’re missing the point that M & M are carrying executing the “vision” dictated to them by ownership. It’s not like Elliot is saying “hey, Paolo, here’s 40 million, go get a striker” and then he turns around and only spends 5 million because he wants to save the club 35. Elliot are mandating two thing with respect to transfers: plug holes with cheap, “effective” players, and invest money in young players–assets–who have the potential to increase in value long-term. Why? Because their whole angle, the whole angle of a hedge fund, is to turn a profit. And once they finish cleaning up this financial mess, have limited long-term liabilities, and have enough assets on the books that have appreciated in value, they will take their money ad go. Just like a good hedge fund should!

In other words, the majority of the blame lies with Elliot. This club will only ever reach it’s potential when it has an ownership group that isn’t necessarily thinking about only turning a profit.

      1. M & M have a huge part of that blame to carry bro. The loan deals we made could have also been struck for better players. Did Elliot send pobega on loan to bring in an injured Bakayoko? Did Elliot go to Madrid to secure Brahim on a 2year loan to be the only #10 in the team?? Did Elliot go to crotone to buy an injured Messias.

Elliot may not have giving them an open-cheque, but M & M f**ked up during the Summer and the winter.

        1. Well, were there better loan options available? I honestly can’t say. I’m not trying to absolve anyone of blame but consider where we were int he summer. Kessie-Tonali-Bennacer with coach-favorite Krunic in the MF. What do you do with your best young MF, keep him on the bench as a sub all season or loan him out to play first-team Serie A minutes so he can develop. I think this one is a no-brainer an was 100% the correct choice, long-term. So for depth you bring in a cheap player (Baka) who will be comfortable playing about 250 for the entire year. Do I like the player? No. Decidedly not. Was someone else available at that price and comfortable with those minutes? I don’t know. Was it a good strategy? Yes–see Pobega above. Diaz sold everyone a bill of goods–Real didn’t want to sell them and Ancelotti wanted him back. Messias fits the strategy perfectly of finding a cheap, effective player that costs nothing past this year–that absolutely has ownership’s fingerprints all over it. You throw a bunch of (cheap) shit against the wall and see what sticks. If it doesn’t work out, you aren’t committed financially and those guys aren’t on your liability sheet.

If I’m assigning M & M any blame it’s on not bringing in a true #10 if they had options available to them. And by “available to them” I mean ownership had given them the green light to get an impact player. But I suspect they saw a future star in Diaz, a reasonable current cost-to-own, and a considerable future upside(read: return on investment).

Again, I’m not really disagreeing with you from the standpoint of how disappointing these moves turned out to be. All I’m saying is this is what an ownership group like Elliot does. It’s their whole business model. I guarantee you the fact that they don’t have Kessie’s salaryon the books after this year is more valuable to them than having the actual player.

          1. Bro… The only thing we agree on is that Elliott’s primary focus is on the financial books, and I’ve made that clear already. But it shouldn’t be a cover for the mistakes M & M made going into the season… Diaz didn’t sell sh*t to anybody last season. The Pobega loan move was a no-brainer, but replacing him with an injured Bakayoko certainly wasn’t, and this isn’t talking in hindsight. The move didn’t make sense even the day the deal was signed, and I never saw how a player like Messias fitted the strategy… The dude was even injured when he signed… Are you kidding me?

          2. Elliot isn’t an enthusiastic sports investor, but are we too quick to forget that all the players M & M brought in last summer were already injured???

            Make it make sense guys.

            Florenzi, Bakayoko, Messias, Giroud.

I’m my opinion only Florenzi proved to be value-for-money even when he signed till date, bar his recent injury woes.

It’s different when you bring in an injured player in June and hoping he’ll recover in time during preseason of before the season kicks off; but signing injured players on deadline day or a week before, where’s the sense in that??? How do we blame Elliot here??

  8. As long as Elliot is at the helm of authority, we ain’t winning trophies.

We start winning trophies and becoming competitive in Europe after they sell to a new owner

  9. Giroud was horrendous. Even when he “won” the ball it fell to no one in particular. Ibra is such a massive upgrade over him even if he turns 50 and on crutches. Ibra actually uses his size and power way better than Giroud. Was a waste. And it wasn’t like they weren’t feeding him this game.
How Messias got a 6 I have no clue. Apart from the one pass to Tonali, he didn’t do much (Tonali should hv done better tbh).
I also don’t understand why we waste an entire half with a man down ie Diaz on the pitch. We wait until second half to get a proper player in the hole. How bad is Daniel Maldini really that he can’t oust Diaz for the starting CAM?

This game makes me realize that it was the other teams messing up that made us become top of table rather than us being better than the other teams. We literally got frantic, the top spot was too much pressure and we clearly didn’t learn from last year.

    1. We are only were we are because Napoli and Inter took a slight dip, partly due to their commitments in Europe.

You might not agree but the truth is, they have a better team than Milan; they have teams that play and win football matches, and can hold their grit for a whole season.

      1. I totally agree that Napoli and Inter having better teams than us, throw in Juve as well. Matter of fact, I said this before here earlier in the season that were only built for 4th and obviously got crucified. Anything else is gravy. But if you’re only 6 games away to a title and have a lead over the ops u gotta take the chance. That being said, 2nd and 3rd are still great given our squad relative to others. I can’t imagine any other team playing with a formation that depends on the CAM and playing almost all of the season without one. Also applies to a RW. Yet here we are… Tbh it says alot about Serie A and how bad it is that an undermanned Milan can be top so late in the season.

        1. You all here are very sick….so serieA is bad cos Milan is in top? You guys are really sick…… Does Leicester city winning the premier make premier league bad or small?? Get a life bro

          1. It’s hard to really respond to you Kossy because u bringing negative energy to your posts. One has to wonder if you read and comprehend what ppl are posting or just look at certain words and get triggered/flip it to your interpretation.
You don’t have to agree with me but Costacurta basically said the same thing about the quality in Serie A and why we don’t win in Europe. Go argue with one of the legendary players in football instead of me if you believe I’m talking trash. I’m sure Costacurta has more expereince than you. Only way to improve is to be self critical and that goes for both you and Serie A. Cheers

      2. Shut up!!!! We won Napoli and inter.

If not for bad reffree desicions, these draws will not matter cos we will be far above…..most of you here talk too much trash

    2. I love Ibra, and I will be eternally grateful for what he did for the club last season, but we need to stop looking at him through rose colored glasses. Today was just a confirmation of what everyone knows but doesn’t dare say out loud. Ibra’s playing career is over, he is sticking around for a chance to lift the scudetto and retire on a high note. He didn’t show up today because Bremer would have sent him back to Milan in a wheelchair. He is not gonna play much if at all till the end, he may enter a game or two in the last 10 to 20 minutes.

Honestly I hope club has the courage to offer him a managerial job for next season, scout or assistant coach or something, because his playing days are over and he will just occupy a spot of a striker that might actually play and contribute next season.

      1. I was getting at how badly Giroud was moreso than how good Ibra is. Ibra is very old. This should be his last season as a pro. But Giroud who is built in the same mould was attrocious. There’s no way Ibra gets that many balls to him and not win one or pass off to a runner. Hope that clarifies what I was getting at.
Yes, we should be looking for a new young striker. I like Scammacca alot. Plus he’ll be able to play to our formation

        1. Sadly, and this is from a few statements of people linked directly to management, Scammacca is not a target at all. They only want Berardy from Sassuolo and they will only offer like 15 million tops, any more than that and they will look elsewhere.

Origi is way more plausible, he demands are in line with what Milan is ready to offer so he is probably the one.

There is a lot of gibberish being posted about Asensio, he is not a ral target either, he i son his last year of contract, so we definitely will not offer 25 million Real is asking and even if we did, we will never pay him what he demands, so that is just a pipe dream.

For Renato, we found an agreement with the club, but he wants more than we were willing to pay Kessie, so that too is not looking good.

Maybe we sign Belotti, but that is saved as a last resort, he might not wait that long. So who knows.

Management did hint that they are looking at a winger no one has mentioned yet, but that might just be management deflecting.

Damn… I do carry on sometimes, dont i?

          1. We don’t really have the kind of budget we used to have in times past. I fail to see how we are going to spend so much money on these targets. Likely we’ll be picking up players on a free, discarded players or unknown young players with potential.
I also don’t blame Maldini and Massara either. They’re making cake with no flour. What Elliot has done is to clear virtually all debts from the club and have wages low. Only thing missing now is the stadium which is a manageable debt.

    3. What do you mean by we are at the top because others were messing up? So how do you stay top if not by other messing up? Didn’t we slay most of our rivals in our direct matches?

Some of you here like talking trash cos of two draws, get a life bro, this is football, even Napoli lost

  10. I’ve said it before,Pioli is a good manager to build up a team….But really challenging the title is a total different thing.
Today and the previous game against Bologna we saw the same thing: crosses and deep passes for the attackers head…Is that Milan???
Regarding Leao…Great skills but lacks using his mind….He thinks he is a little boy playing amateur soccer…..

    1. Pioli is the only reason you are here talking about scudetto so give him some respect, before him, you were talking about qualifying for Europa league…..pioli will not kill himself, no manager in Europe will do what pioli have done with this team so give him some respect…..he is doing a very good job with a wack team so close mouth

  11. Can u just put theo on LW, i can’t stand Leao’s nonchalance anymore,i simple dont wanna watch players that dont have will to run, brahim should be benched aswell,if he passed to leao in first half that 2v1 chance we would won, that guy just play futsal on field,he had only 4 succesfull passes in first time!!!its a scary shit, give him that ball and let him bring that ball home since he wouldnt pass to anyone, put maldini in,put primavera guys, guys who want to run and fight for milan yersey, not leao who sabotage us with his laziness in the main moment of the season

    1. I no what you mean about leao in and out of the game no fire in his belly just lazy a lad like him should be running for ninety minutes he has not convinced me yet .

  12. Our coach really doesnt even try to change anything. If your tactic doesnt work change it ffs,now it looks like he just come and put same team same tactic and continue last game where nothing worked well, its so frustrating,do something, give them ball and play on counterattacks if you dont know better,so shit….he only prepares derby matches, our menagment is guilty for not bringing am and rw,but pioli is aswell,i clearly remember when reporters asked him he said nah we are good,we dont need new players,he should ASK for better players!!because all of us have seen we need AM and RW and we are only fans, doesnt work in football BUT HE DIDNT SEE,WE SAW HE DIDNT,that make me rage so much!!!!

  13. The main problem is the lost of player like Calhanoglu. The attach players cannot do nothing without a great playmaker. Another one is the absence of Ibra. Giroud is different type of striker.

  14. We should have never let Suso go… man man man how much better is he than messias and saelemakers. Pioli is a coach suited for UCL place finish. Not a student winning coach. But hey guys let’s not forget where we came from…

    1. “Never forget where we came from” was what we said last season when we also blew our scudetto chances and struggled till the last gameday to make top 4…

How much more seasons of top 4 finishes should we keep saying this before we set ambitions???

    2. Don’t call susO again, the dude lost his spot to castillejo and that says it all.

Don’t blame the coach at all, he is a victim in this situation and not the villain

  15. All season long we scored goals, went on a streak of even 3 a game while our defence was a little shaky… All of a sudden our defence is a brick wall but we can’t buy a goal? Unfortunately these were huge missed opportunities and somehow even Juventus is within reach of us. We have the toughest match days left. We blew the scudetto. Never want to see saladmaker, Diaz, and Kessie play again. Absolutely horrible

  16. we need two monster strikers younger than ibra and giroud, beloti and origi could be free, new rw like berardi, and playmaker. In the condition with the player right now.. it is not bad milan still in the race of scudetto, salute for pioli

  17. Well… Its been nice to dream, sadly we’ve all woken up to the reality that it has been clear right in the transfer window that the management only wanted to maintain our top 4 status and any trophy will be a cherry on the pie.

i only look foward to the day a serious and ambitious owner will take over from Elliot cos we will never win anything as long as they remain owner.

Its been nice to dream with y’all.

  18. We clearly need maturity and champion mentality in midfield. These 3 (leao, diaz, saele/messias) could not compensate each other. When leao is isolated, no one could cover him well enough. Throw the best lone striker in the world right now, i bet they too will struggle with these 3 MF behind striker.

And how much I hate about Milan set piece. Do they never train for set piece during training? It seems like they have no clue about what to do with corner kick. They just kick the ball into penalty box without any pattern or tactics. Everytime i watched Milan had a corner it just felt like a goal kick to me.

    1. Wow, just wow… I can understand the pain of watching such horrendous games like the last 2 games, but all of a sudden the blame on Pioli, Maldini and Massara is too much…
Milan has been irrelevant for almost 10 years before Pioli, now it’s the second year we are in scudetto race…
we have a good team, that it’s not costing us a fortune, so there is a lot of space to grow…that is a great place to be…
It’s true there are also some drawbacks… the tactics are pretty simple and ineffective against deep lying teams… the last 2 transfer windows have been bad… but that’s it
We are in a very good position and we should be very happy about that. The last 2 games have been poor and that is that. We still have a shot at the scudetto and top 4 is almost guaranteed.
Have a good day boys, Forza Milan!

      1. This right here is the same glass-half-full mentality that’s going to keep us experimenting season after season without fruit.

How long is it going to be before your so called growing players feel they’ve given enough, and choose to move on to other projects? Or do you think they have forever to wait to stick with Milan? When they leave we start again spending another season or two on experiments to replace them.

Do you think Leao’s recent showing is a dip in form? It’s clearly psychological. The guys is not motivated. We could be facing another Kessie Saga with the Leao renewal, don’t let the media fool you .

We are all happy with how far we’ve come, but the outcome of this season sets us back by more years, especially if we see another senseless Mercarto like the last one.

No hate here bro….. It’s just that this one is on M & M.

  19. Wow, so much hate around here… just 2 bad games was all that was needed… nevermind that it’s the second year we play in Champions League with the big boys… nevermind that we have a very good team that we spent practically nothing to build… nevermind that we have become again a very powerful brand…

    1. Just 2 bad games?do you even watch milan?we play bad for months, last 5 or even more games we barely scores,we dont create goal scoring chances, its just random shots from nowhere, what are u even talking about

  20. From last season, it has been seen that Milan really likes to trouble themselves. Difficulty taking points from teams that defend too deep, and dependence on one player that indirectly eliminates attack creativity. Trying one-way attacks throughout the game and hoping for a miracle to happen and a goal is scored. And indeed, it seems to win the Scudetto this season, Milan need a miracle.

    1. Lol….. Milan don’t need a miracle, we need a management who knows how to put together a wining team that can match their budget. Not buying injured players and hoping for miracles.

  21. The management spent the whole week preceding the Bologna game complaining about an inexperienced referee appointed for the game, instead of taking responsibility for the fact that the attack they refused to reinforce is shooting blanks.

They were looking for an excuse even before kicking the first ball of the game. How stupid can they be?

In my opinion that the referee turn out to be the best we’ve had in any game all season, dude was fair to a fault.

  22. Milan should completely remove all the players playing RW, CF and CAM… except for ibra, he should be given a managerial position due to his influence…but they should get, 2 new CF’s, 2 new CAM’s, and 2 new RW’s, and maybe one good defense like botman…why are they even talking about defense when it’s arguably the best in serie A… if they are to be serious title contenders for next season with the same formation, they should splash some cash next season, it’s good that players like pobega and adli are coming in next season…but they should also add Charles de keteleare/Dybala, Noa lang( to switch with Leao coz that guy is overworked that maybe the season due to his dip in form, no resting time) also Asensio is not bad he’s a born champ, and Berardi for the RW position then Origi and Belotti for attack (though if they got scamacca instead of one of these that would be great) and then they would be serious title contenders… considering the 100 mil they should add like 30-40 mil on top of that to achieve this, and they shouldn’t worry about wasting their money coz if they do this and they win the title next season, a quarter finals or higher finish in the CL and a Coppa Italia on top, more billionaires and billionaire firms would be lining up to buy the team for an even bigger profit for Elliot, they should learn from the 200 mil overhaul Chelsea had two seasons ago, that same Chelsea team won the Cl…pull up your socks M&M

  23. A Milan fan for thirty years when seria was on channel four on a Sunday with James Richardson they were my team but to sit and watch that last nite after the last game I think I have enough how Maldini can sit and watch them players like Diaz salemaekers messiah Giroud leao they are not fit to wear the shirt so enough is enough i will just dream about Guillet van basten Franco baresi and big George. Wearh they would put these players to shame.

    1. Fan of thirty years but you still think this is worse than when Mesbah and Traore played? No, THOSE were some grim times. We dont have the budget of Milan past. Get with the program

  24. Same Napoli and inter that are also losing…..what do you mean we are were we are cos of our rival form, hey dude we won most of our matches against our rivals and if not for poor reffree desicion, we would have been on top with much gap from second place…..you guys love talking trash

  25. It is frustrating that it appears we are missing out on an opportunity to win the Scudetto this year and I do agree M&M should’ve tried during the January mercato to make a move. Just looking at Juve spending to get Vlahovic and Inter gets Gosens from Atalanta tells it all. We have had GAPING HOLES of weakness at RW and CAM positions and didn’t go after Gosens or so many other players who could reinvigorate our offense and take some pressure off of Leao. Instead we did nothing and hoped for the best with little depth on our bench and terrible players starting at RW and CAM. It is a huge shame.

    1. Gosens was 25 mil. We dont have 25 mil but I agree we should hv found someone albeit. On the other hand January transfer market is tough to get good deals

  26. I’m more than happy and willing to standby the owners, management, coach and players. Sure, mistakes have been made over the past three years but I refuse to believe that we are worse off now than the six previous years. Most of you who call yourselves fans don’t really care about the club, do you? You’re more worried about bragging rights among fellow football enthusiasts like yourself? More concerned about having the biggest roster in the history of the game? I’ll leave my assessment of this season until the end but for now I have mostly praises for what they’ve done so far. Things can almost always be better and over the last three seasons that is what we the fans have been gradually seeing.
