Real Betis defender addresses future amid Milan links: “You never know”

By Oliver Fisher -

Juan Miranda has been heavily linked with a move to AC Milan in recent days, but the Real Betis defender has spoken of his desire to potentially stay there for life.

Milan tried to address the left-back position during the summer transfer window, but in the end Fode Ballo-Toure did not leave until after the Italian transfer window had shut meaning there was no time to go out and shop for a replacement.

That means Alessandro Florenzi and Primavera talent Davide Bartesaghi will be holding down the position of deputy to Theo whenever he needs a rest.

Calciomercato.com claimed earlier in the week that a new left-back will be a priority in January and that Miranda is a target given his deal expires in June 2024.

Miranda spoke to the Spanish outlet El Desmarque and among the various topics discussed was the links with an exit both during the summer and for the future.

“Yes, we have had offers, but I feel very comfortable here at the club. I’m at home. The leaders appreciate me. I’ve never thought about leaving,” he said (via PianetaMilan).

“We know what the situation is at the club and in football you never know, but I’m very happy. It’s my home, with my family, and that’s what counts.

“Renewal? We are talking and we will see. Without haste. It is a process between my representative and the club… we will see. I hope I can stay here for the rest of my life.

“I’m Betico, I have my friends, my family… but as you know in football one day you’re here and another day there. Many things influence football. You have to live in the moment. Betis is my family and my club. We’ll see, but I’m very happy.”
