Mediaset: Real Madrid and €30m Arsenal bid could foil Milan’s plan for forward

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are working on the permanent signing of Brahim Diaz but Real Madrid and Arsenal could put a spanner in their works, a report claims.

According to SportMediaset, Milan are aware that Brahim Diaz is attracting interest from other clubs and that is why they would like to find a solution with Real Madrid well in advance of June, when his two-year loan will expire.

The Rossoneri need €22m to buy him permanently, with a possible buy-back for Los Blancos set at €26-27m, but the Spaniard feels part of the project and would like to stay with Milan.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are using Brahim’s will as leverage to potentially get a discount or even another loan, but Real Madrid might well bring him back to base since Marco Asensio and Dani Ceballos will leave the club.

However, they could also bring him back to sell for a big capital gain as Arsenal have set their sights on him in the Premier League and would be willing to invest over €30m.

If the No.10 wants to stay with the Rossoneri, he will have to drag the team to the Champions League in the last ten decisive league matches.

  1. It’s a foolish deal from the get go, Diaz should deal should have been set at 15mill and with no buyback clause. Morata deal with juventus comes to mind. If for anything the buyback clause could have been set at 15mill excess of the purchase amount, but we have amateurs running contracts affairs. Even if we buy now Real Madrid can activate the buyback and sell to the highest bidder. I’d suggest we move on painfully or they find a way to remove that buyback clause

    1. At least if Madrid buy him back we will get €5m euro.

Not the best situation but better than nothing.

Hopefully we will finish at CL spot this season and go through to CL final.

    2. Yeah because, you know, one club always dictates the terms of the deal to the other. Did it not occur to you that perhaps Madrid would not have agreed to the loan if Milan asked for a 15m buyout with no bayback? FFS.
