Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that he was ‘not surprised’ by the moves that AC Milan made during the 2023 summer transfer window.

Speaking during an interview on Radio Anch’io Sport (via SempreMilan.it), the former Milan player and coach was asked about the summer transfer window of the Rossoneri which was an incredibly busy one.

Important players like Christian Pulisic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Tijjani Reijnders, Samuel Chukwueze and many more arrived, leading to Milan’s very promising start to the new season which sees them sit at the top of Serie A after eight games.

“Milan didn’t surprise me, they made an excellent buying campaign. Apart from the defeat in the derby, they are doing well. Juventus could have their say in the league as they don’t have the cups,” he said.

It is interesting that Ancelotti mentions Juventus as the first game back after the international break for Milan is a home match against Juventus, one that is set to be key when it comes to establishing credentials as Scudetto challengers for both teams.

Soon after, Milan will be taking on Napoli and there are two Champions League matches against Paris Saint-Germain to consider.
