Real Madrid boss Ancelotti sends Milan a message over loanee: “He is an important player for us”

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has reminded AC Milan that Brahim Diaz is very much a part of their plans moving forward.

Having impressed on an initial one-year loan last season, Brahim Diaz returned to the Rossoneri this summer on a two-year loan deal and there has been some debate as to whether an option to buy and buy-back are included. Nevertheless, the young Spaniard has certainly not shown signs of pressure after taking the No.10 shirt, having made the playmaker role his own.

A return to Real Madrid at the end of his loan spell could well be on the cards but the player’s will could be decisive too. Nonetheless, Ancelotti – the former Milan manager – was asked about the future of Brahim and confirmed that he is part of his plans.

“Here he had no room due to a question of competition, he is an important player for us and we are happy that he is doing well. For his growth it was important to play, he did not become a Milan player by chance, but because we know the structure of the club. I hope that Milan will remain at the top after returning,” he told RadioRai (via MilanLive).

Milan are joint-top of the Serie A standings at least until Napoli play later today, and Ancelotti gave his thoughts on the Scudetto fight, revealing his belief that it will be a tight race and one Juventus are not out of.

“I see a very balanced Serie A. Juventus have some problems and have lost certainties but I am sure they will come back and will be among the candidates to win in the end. Even Inter can compete for the Scudetto, have maintained last year’s structure while changing coach and some players.”
