CorSport: Real Madrid tell Milan to pay €25m for playmaker amid Arteta admiration

By Oliver Fisher -

Brahim Diaz is having his best season with AC Milan so far and Real Madrid have opened up to the idea of a sale, according to a report.

Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) recall this morning how Brahim has been decisive in key games such as the win over Juventus earlier in the season, the Champions League last 16 tie against Spurs, the 4-0 league win against Napoli and the victory on Wednesday night too.

However, at present the Spaniard’s future is divided between finishing this season with a bang and figuring out where he will play next year. In 34 total appearances this season – 26 of them starts – the 23-year-old has amassed scored 6 goals and 4 assists.

This means he has surpassed both the tally from last season (4 goals and 4 assists) and his first season too (5 goals and 3 assists), with two months of the season left yet. The key, especially in recent weeks, has been the change of position to the right where Diaz has more freedom of movement and can best show his qualities.

For now Brahim is focused on achieving targets with Milan, but his two-year loan from Real Madrid expires in the summer and it will be necessary to understand where he will play next season. The Rossoneri want to keep him, but Los Blancos are asking for €25.

Real Madrid are also thinking about the possibility of bringing him back to the Spanish capital and inserting him into the squad, however they are also aware of interest from Arsenal and could try create an auction.

Mikel Arteta worked with Brahim when he was second in command to Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, and would like to work with him again.

  1. 25 mil is nothing today for someone who is decisive in UCL. We invested 3 years in the guy, now i guess it depends on the money he will ask.
