MN: The reason Milan may find signing midfielder difficult despite Lille’s open stance

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan should be able to find an agreement with Lille over Renato Sanches but there is another potential obstacle, according to a report.

MilanNews reports that Milan tried in the last days of the January transfer market to sign Renato Sanches from the Ligue 1 club, but it was not possible to reach an agreement due to the high salary demands of the player.

A possible agreement with Lille over the price tag is not a problem, but the wages requested by the midfielder – whose contract is due to expire in 2023 – are very high and that has put a spanner in the works.

The Portugal international is a profile that is certainly admired by the management who know that they must sign a quality midfielder with Franck Kessie set to leave on a free transfer, but getting everything agreed for Renato Sanches will not be as obvious as it may seem.

  1. Other than being black, he is nothing like Kessie. Stop claiming he is a Kessie replacement, he is a completely different profile.

  2. His asking salary are 5,5m euro / years. Better go plan B like Kamara,Seko fofana ,svanberg, or cheap solution like using pobega as box to box

  3. Sign Kamara. We won’t give Sanches 5.5M – more than any other player on our team…so let’s quite wasting time. Sign Kamara on a free and stoned Sanches $$ on a RW

  4. Pay Renato the amount of money he desires, (even if its 10m / year), BUT if he’s injured, he wont get paid!

It wont cost us more than current Kessie’s sarary 😛

On other news, ofc get Kamara, renato has missed 50% of his entire carrer games due to injury (true story, just checked it).

  5. rich bayern munich gets mazraoui and gravenberch. They are upgrading the team like hell with 10% of the money Milan will spend.
With mazraoui, gravenberch and charles, we could play UCL in spring!!!!!!!!!
