CorSera: Rebic poised and ready as Giroud’s condition must be evaluated

There is a chance that Stefano Pioli will be without Olivier Giroud from the start for the game against Udinese this Saturday, a report claims.

According to a report from Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews), the condition of Giroud will be assessed day by day at Milanello because the Frenchman is struggling with muscle fatigue that did not allow him to play even a single minute of the final summer friendly against Vicenza.

The paper explains that if the 35-year-old does not manage to recover in time for the visit of the Friulians on Saturday, the starting centre-forward will be Ante Rebic in a 4-2-3-1 system.

Any kind of physical problem for Giroud somewhat exposes where Milan currently are with regards to their striker situation at Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not be back until early next year, Divock Origi is still recovering from a muscle issue and Marko Lazetic is not yet seen as being ready.
