AC Milan forward Rafael Leao’s entourage has launched a fresh appeal against the compensation they were ordered to pay Sporting CP, a report claims.
According to a report from the Portuguese newspaper Record (via Milan News), Leao and his people are appealing against the TAD (Portuguese sporting judiciary body) decision that ordered him to pay Sporting €16.5 million plus interest in compensation after Leao terminated his contract with the club following a training ground incident with fans.
After he left the club, he joined Lille on a free transfer which is where Milan purchased him from. Lille and Sporting are trying to come to a resolution on their disagreement which would make it much easier for Milan to sign Leao to a new contract.
Leao’s appeal against the compensation order is a separate act to the meeting between Sporting and Lille (reported here) but a quick resolution would be great news for the Rossoneri.
