GdS: RedBird to close Milan takeover in coming weeks – Cardinale could be at the derby

Gerry Cardinale is back in Europe, and he is expected in Italy in the coming weeks to finally complete the full acquisition of AC Milan from Elliott Management.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) reports that the future owner of the Rossoneri has not been in Milano since the day of the signing, but should soon land there for the full closing of RedBird Capital’s takeover.

At the moment there are no certainties about his future plans but he will certainly not be at San Siro for Milan-Udinese on Saturday, though his presence on 3 September for the derby against Inter is not to be excluded, given the closing may happen in the days prior or after.

Between the end of August and the beginning of September, Cardinale could therefore reappear in Milano to resolve the final details related to the takeover and to complete the change of ownership at Milan. The paper adds that the Singer family through Elliott will continue to maintain a minority stake.
