Tijjani Reijnders has established himself as one of the best midfielders in Europe this season, and AC Milan are well aware of the interest in the Dutchman.
Last season, few players stood out, but you could argue Reijnders did. The Dutchman was often deployed out of position, and whilst his minutes were regular, his position was anything but. However, there were never complaints, and for the most part, his performances did not drop massively.
Now, under Paulo Fonseca, Reijnders’ importance to the midfield is clear, and his overall game has improved significantly. Goals are frequent, and whilst Milan do not rely on the midfielder, he leads the team, and there are few players that could replace him – perhaps, across Europe, let alone within the Rossoneri’s ranks.
For this reason, there has been considerable interest in the midfielder, and Calciomercato.com have reported that Real Madrid and Chelsea have joined the list of interested parties, but with his renewal getting closer to being completed, there is little reason to worry.
After all, as Daniele Longo puts it, watching Reijnders is ‘poetry in motion’, so why would the best clubs not try for him?
It seems, at least for the time being though, the Dutchman will remain with the Diavolo, much to the delight of the fans.
Waiting for people to say sell him we can easily get 60Mfor him and then we can buy *insert player name that had one good season i another team thats not Milan* 🤭🤣
Nah, Theo will be our “big” summer sale. I say it with quotations because thanks to the non-existent contract renewal process at this club, he will be leaving for like 30-40M given that his contract expires in 2025.
*his contract expires in 2026.
Literally our best player with Pulisic this season…it’s hands off for any offers….
“but with his renewal getting closer to being completed, there is little reason to worry.”
I’d worry until the official announcement. But anyway, his contract expires in 2028, so not sure what all the hubbub is about.
Oh I don’t trust these ‘w@nkers’ one bit..my worry is he’s not likely to win anything major anytime soon under Redbird and he’s at that prime age for a midfielder. Could he be lured away? He’s top drawer….he seems a good lad and a sensible….city need to revolutionise their midfield…it’s a worry
Pep likes ball carrier mildfielders; that is why he spent a good sum on Matheus Nunes, though it has not worked out as expected. Reijnders is a potent ball carrier, so in the summer things might indeed happen.
100%
Milan are only renewing him to be able to sell him for a higher fee. Tonali money comes along and they will sadly cash out.
Shame. Fantastic player.
The problem is they will cite Reijnders as an example and claim we will find another gem for 20m….it almost cements their moneyball nonsense…
Sure, because there’s evidence that has happened…
He just stated that he’s almost signed his contract on Dutch television speaking to Marco van Basten in Italian, he will sign his contract soon and he will stay for some time.
Must admit that i am always highly critical of milan management but those who chose and bought Reijnders and Fofana made two great scoops. Chapeau.
150M if they want reijnders and bonuses plus a 10% resale clause!!! If not they shall give him the best deal and isolate him with a 200M Clause.
It is not all about the price,
let’s say Reijnders worth 60m, he worth 10m more for Milan because of his crucial part and his adapting to the team, as we can see CDK worth 22m for Milan but 60m for Atalanta.
