After the game between AC Milan and Atalanta, Tijjani Reijnders spoke to the media and shared his thoughts on what went wrong. He made it clear that they must shift focus quickly to the Champions League.

Although the 2-1 defeat was the result of a late goal, courtesy of Ademola Lookman, Milan really didn’t have a good second half at Gewiss Stadium. Atalanta were the ones creating chances and considering the entire game, they probably deserved to win.

Speaking to MilanTV after the game, as cited by MilanNews, Reijnders discussed what went wrong in the game and made it clear that the Champions League is their focus now. Nevertheless, it was a game they needed to win.

On the game…

“We didn’t want to lose, it wasn’t the game we wanted to play but we have to look forward even if we are very disappointed…”

Next games…

“We need to gain more confidence and think about the next matches, now the Champions League is coming and we are already focused on winning.”

Milan will be up against Red Star next in the Champions League, scheduled for Wednesday next week, and then Genoa await on Sunday evening. There are no other options but to claim six points from these for the Rossoneri.

  1. He can’t take much blame here, he’s been run like dog all season, it was inevitable the lack of rest would catch him. Same with fofana and the now injured Pulisic. Fonseca needs to go

  2. After Mr Puli out, Milan look like seri B team. Too scary to attack atalanta defense. Leao lock down and fofana to cover 2 positions, I guess RLC no use. This winter Milan must buy 1 playmaker or try from primavera.

Atalanta too superior in this match, precision football and Gasperini teach American burger why MoneyBall it’s failed. Hahahaha 🤣
