Relevo: Jimenez to miss out on Real Madrid reunion with potential season-ending injury

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will be without Alex Jimenez for today’s UEFA Youth League quarter-final against his parent club Real Madrid, according to a report.

As Jorge Picon of Relevo reports, Jimenez will not only miss the game today against the club he is on loan from, but he has badly injured his quadriceps and might not play again for the remainder of the season.

The full-back is very disappointed about not being able to play what would have been a very special game for him. He had shared messages with some of his team-mates, chatting in the days prior to Real Madrid’s visit to the PUMA House of Football.

It has been a positive season so far for the Spaniard, who made his senior debut in the Coppa Italia against Cagliari and has played 65 minutes in Serie A, spread over three games. However, there will be no reunion with Los Blancos today.

It remains to be seen how the injury affects Jiménez’s future but it doesn’t seem like too much will change. The management ‘love’ Jimenez and they have a €5m option to buy him permanently, while Real have a buy-back which allows them to keep some control over his future.
