Pellegatti: Renato Sanches not a ‘realistic candidate’ to join in the summer

By Oliver Fisher -

Carlo Pellegatti has once again suggested that AC Milan are unlikely to sign Renato Sanches from Lille in the upcoming summer transfer window.

L’Équipe (via GFFN) recently reported that Renato Sanches is set to join Milan at the end of the season as part of what could be a double deal between Lille and the Rossoneri involving centre-back Sven Botman.

However, SportMediaset (via SempreMilan.it) stated earlier today that the ideas of the Milan management seem to have changed in the last few days because of his salary demands of €5.5m net per season and his injury problems.

Pellegatti spoke on the YouTube channel (via MilanNews) about how Milan’s midfielder should look going into next season and once again stressed his belief that Sanches is not as likely to come as some sources are making out.

“In midfield next year Milan will have Pobega and Adli, Krunic, Tonali and Bennacer, then Bakayoko we’ll see. I still see Renato Sanches as quite far away. I don’t think he can be a realistic candidate for next year’s midfield at this moment,” he said.

    1. No the main problem is his salary demands. With Kessie and Romagnoli gone and Ibra either gone or signing for a significantly lower contract then his 6m he makes now, Sanches is basically asking to be the highest paid player on the team to be a rotational player… No thanks as it would create resentment in the locker room

  1. With all players from the old regime now gone and our books are finally in order we should not make the mistake of over paying players salaries and transfer fees. This should only be reserved for superstar caliber players!!!

  2. He is asking salary too much. Still unproven in serie A and already failed in Bundesliga. High risk consider his medic record . Better look other profile box to box player that can pair with tonali
